Tyranids we have already seen in Deathwing, so there is only Orks left. And I doubt anyone would find it fun playing a Imperial Guard in 40K. What is their expected life expectancy? 5 minutes? 2 maybe?

I feel like the interactions between characters should have been brought up more in these reviews. The interactions based on who's currently in your group is really interesting to hear. The Dwarf and the Elf and their playful rivalry. The witch hunter and the witch and their reluctant teamwork. The mercenary and the witch hunter who are both human and serve the Empire but have slightly different religious beliefs. It all just adds so much flavor to every level even on repeat playthroughs

Getting better at Souls or Cuphead is just memorization and a few hours of dying to a boss/area. Fighting games you have to dedicate your time to them like learning how to play an instrument.
Maybe i'm just too old now, but there doesn't seem much leeway on multiplayer games for beginners. You end up looking like an idiot and have to quit the game, which is why I rarely try these type of things. A shame, as I had a beta key for this and tried it out, but ended up not wanting to hold back the other guys.
well not to diss fighting game players as someone who's invested a lot of time into mortal kombat reboot but most people find the practice, pay off to not really be worth the trouble. Fighting games are usually complex and can appear simple on the surface with complexities that really only shine at professional levels (of which the average player wont get close to). people can put up with the hard difficulties in cuphead and darksouls because of the sense of adventure, creative ideas and artwork. If cuphead was just a run of the mill boss rush game with samey graphics and uninspired characters i doubt it would receive anything close to the same amount of praise. where as dark souls uses difficulty to enhance the feeling/atmosphere of the game its self. putting the player into an unkown and unwelcoming fantasy world ripe with adventure and intrigue. They also fall closer to easy to learn hard to master than memorizing and inputting long button combos
Playing this game (I forget what level) and me and my team are going down an lift. While slowly descending we see a wall of armored rats in three perfect rows. You can tell they must have spent some time organizing a phalanx that neat. Then one of our characters just yells "Have a bomb!" and they all rag dolled in the air. So I raise a glass to the fine Skaven on that day. All of their hard work was ruined by a guy with some black powder.

I played Blood a few months back for the first time after Gggman's glowing recommendation, hell of a game. Play in a dark room, crank up the volume and take in the morbid and hilarious atmosphere.
Simular to L4D the game got a AI director running in the background. This AI Director decides what and when to spawn a boos, when to spawn a horde and how to place heal items. Depending on how fast you run through a level. Its not 100% rng when a boss spawns
It wasn't what I said but one of my teammates loudly declared that he wanted a challenge as he thought it was too easy. Even though we were on champion. Well he got his challenge and was swamped for his troubles.
Also, Bosses can only spawn around certain areas, so if you know where bosses can spawn you can clean up or even wait for the next horde before entering said areas. Though that almost feels like cheating, since bosses aren't much of a threat on their own. Luckily there will always be an eager random who charges ahead, soo difficulty spike it usually is :D

Maltbrew The movie Ecks Vs Sever was the first film I ever walked out from. Decided I had dealt with enough boredom watching it and went to play The Simpsons Arcade instead. Never knew it was on gameboy advanced.
I would not recommend anyone play this with the EXTREME graphics settings on pc yet, it's not properly optimised. Also, little tip that the tutorial doesn't teach you, when you hold right click to block, HOLD left click, when you shove your enemies away you will then automatically follow through with a swing at them
It's nice to see games actually use loot boxes properly. ;) It's amazing to see that, yes, it _can_ actually be done! :) Also, it's nice to see Gamers Workshop "shotgun" tactic of doling out licenses is really starting to pay off. (Extra Credits talked about this not too long ago: ua-cam.com/video/BtY3Lto_lR4/v-deo.html ) The Warhammer (et al) Universe is so rich and is more than worthy of the best efforts people like Fatshark have put into their games. :)
Good review. Hit most topics right on the head. You didn't mention how buggy it can be. Fought the last boss who got stuck in the wall and the red HP bar went the opposite direction that it was supposed to when taking damage. I beat the first difficulty on a bad glitch. Also, it's way better to play with random strangers than it is to play with the bots; who get stuck on the geometry of the map or fight the boss instead of trying to help revive you. If you don't have steam friends to play this game with, play with random people vice bots. Game hasn't crashed on me playing with real people but has several times at the end of a level, playing with bots.
Having played Warhammer online years ago, I got to say when I got in the game it looked gorgeous. I didn't like how depended it seemed on people playing, I had no idea it had a single player mode. I've already refunded it and will added it back, but your right you really need a group of friends to enjoy this. Which is why I returned it, you can't always count on your friends being free or if they are that they want to buy and pay this when you do.
Have you tried Nioh ? Its one of those games that have a lot of depth but takes a bit until you get used to combat, tons of content quality and quantity, with co-op and PVP included, awesome bosses, tons of customization, and much more. Please take a look, if you have a chance.
With the lack of 1st person hack 'n' slashers out there I was gutted to know there's no real single player campaign. So far I haven't found the modern substitute to Hexen yet :( Will keep looking...

This seems like so much fun! I love loot based action RPGs, and that addictive "just one more run" kind of gameplay is also right up my alley (rift runs in Diablo 3 had me hooked for the longest time). Too bad none of my friends aren't interested in these kind of games :/
And thank god they added 7 more maps for V2 (regardless of reskin) and changing weather. I wish for some random path changes per run (sometimes a bridge, or move some trees around).
Interesting... Almost bought the first one since it was so dirt cheap and loaded with added campaigns, but given its age, I doubt playing it online would be much fun. Hopefully, the devs follow suit and release more maps. I might pick this up as an end of semester treat to myself.

I can't explain why, but unlike other horde mode games, this doesn't feel as pointless. It feels like an adventure. I'm not even a Warhammer fan, but a lot of the locations remind me of Lord of the Rings, which is a huge bonus. Also, killing those rats is so fucking satisfying. You can't see it in the video, you have to do it yourself. Slicing them up or shooting them with arrows feels like you're Aragorn or Legolas.
Idk who you've been playing with but I hardly encounted anyone who didn't work as a team you'll find a lot of players will help immediately the only thing that their not good at is giving up their healing item when you clearly need it more
I played 40h in the beta client (it had only two missions), then progress got deleted and I've spent 70h in the game since. I've beaten every mission on the second to highest difficulty and I've leveled two characters to their maximum. That leaves one more difficulty and three more characters. I'd say the playtime you can get out of this title is pretty good.

Alto Gato If you're gonna play single player game i recommend the first game, at least V1 is manageable with friendly AI. However V2 is really hard, you really required real people to play with if you want to beat the game.
Modding support is coming soon. We have mods in the first game that improve bots to be better than most average players so I'd assume we'll have it here eventually.
Now all we need is Kingdom Come Deliverance type of combat combined with horde killing combined with timed parries and A hornet ring for the all time best game of the year.
I though that after wh40k the fantasy warhammer is just crap, but it got me, I love the dialog about the dwarfs cousin and the play how they speak with each other. I put in 75 hours since release, I'm a guy that jumps on specials to try to prevent team wipes when with random teammates. Did not enjoy a game like this since wither 3.
The game's population may be a 10th of it's all-time peak (but have no issue finding games within seconds even at off-peak hours), but the nice thing is that everyone who IS still around is generally pretty competent, making the part of this video about the ignorance of other players a non-issue in 2021
Since Vermintide 1 is 90% off I picked it up. My buddy and I are gonna have a good time slaying some rat bastards! Vermintide 2 looks great too so I'm gonna keep my eye on it!
You get loot boxes from either leveling up or finishing a mission. The latter improves in quality once your team manages to get enough tomes and grimoires within that level. The game literally rewards you with better gear the better you and your team play the game and survive. And, as mentioned, you can't buy loot boxes.
A game that looks similar in design to Left 4 Dead has the same issues with random players seemingly not working as a team. Might still pick this up once its on sale.
I am glad this game is as difficult as it is,there is a ceiling of skill that has to be attained.There is WAY to many games that hold your hand and get boring after a few hours because there is nothing to learn and no challenge.
If these guys can nail Warhammer Fantasy twice in a row, I definitely wouldn't mind seeing how they handle the Warhammer 40K universe.

Good review. But I don't think you know how Quickplay works (you get a loot bonus for playing a random map, not for finishing a map quickly).

Players are necessary because bots aren't good. Its a very hard game where teamwork is required to succeed.

The game's population may be a 10th of it's all-time peak (but have no issue finding games within seconds even at off-peak hours), but the nice thing is that everyone who IS still around is generally pretty competent, making the part of this video about the ignorance of other players a non-issue in 2021

You get loot boxes from either leveling up or finishing a mission. The latter improves in quality once your team manages to get enough tomes and grimoires within that level.
The game literally rewards you with better gear the better you and your team play the game and survive.
And, as mentioned, you can't buy loot boxes.

You do get a better chest for finishing a "quick play" random mission. It does increase your chance.
Ah, my bad.
Price is also appealing.
A game that looks similar in design to Left 4 Dead has the same issues with random players seemingly not working as a team. Might still pick this up once its on sale.

I am glad this game is as difficult as it is,there is a ceiling of skill that has to be attained.There is WAY to many games that hold your hand and get boring after a few hours because there is nothing to learn and no challenge.
