LET'S TRY 2023 OVER AGAIN AHAHAH what are some of YOUR goals for this year!!!??

YASSS!!! I love the digital vision board! I'm trying to prioritize going to the gym, reading more, hanging out intentionally with my friends. My quotes for the year are from Andre Shields: Surround yourself with people whose eyes light up when they see you coming | slowly is the fastest way to get to where you want to be | the top of one mountain is the bottom of the next so keep climbing

      Yes! Let’s start over for 2023 ✨
My goals for this year are:
      1. Building upon my brand on Instagram. I have to work on a new logo and website
      2. Attract clients on Instagram. My goal is to work with 1-2 clients a month. I hope to be ready by next month. Find a mentor to help with all the design and tech stuff 😊
      3. Spend quality time with loved ones. I want to start travelling each year and make as many memories. Breathe within the moment 😌
Overall, 2023 is gonna be positive, less stressful, and risk taking year 🎉😊

Tara, who would have thought a person in there 20’s could make a person in their 60’s (just turned) feel so young! Thank you Tara! Watching your videos honestly brings back my youth! Your parents should be proud and happy to have such a beautiful, strong and independent daughter! THAT’S how I view you in my eyes! P.S. I think your mom is beautiful also!

I’m 69 and feel like I know more of myself and what I like than before but certainly not where I want to be. I learned a lot last year, some of it either not pleasant or the way I would want things to be. Trying to accept that and that realistic is ok, move on, try not to dwell on what isn’t.

Negative self talk has always been a challenge for me because of childhood trauma, but what I’ve been finding helpful when I default to that thinking is to remember myself as a child. I imagine my adult self protecting that little girl-- I think of what words/thoughts I would allow to be said to her and how I would comfort to reassure her. I hope this is helpful to whomever reads this. We owe it to ourselves to be our best and most loving protector. ❤

Same! I just got a 5 year journal for Christmas and I love it! It’s like just a few lines each day, which is so much less intimidating if journaling is a new practice. And then you can compare each day over the next 5 years and literally see personal growth!

Things to do before 9am: Drink a ton of water, clean up anything you left the night before, work out or in your case walk on the treadmill and read, plan/prep your food for the day, meditate, journal, make your to do list for the day and/or do a morning skin care routine ❤️

I just want you to know that I have never ever been someone who wants to read in my spare time BUT watching you over the last year talk about the books you’re reading has truly influenced me to start reading and I’m very appreciative💕 it wasn’t even on my resolutions for the year. I just went to target one day and saw a book and was like “I’m going to start reading”😂

im pretty sure i have shared with you once that i was thrown away and abused by my parents. i have no relationship with them and grew up in foster care and honestly that was more of the same. i like watching you cuz you are inspiring ppl and i love seeing your family. you love each other, lift each other up and support and help each other. my best friend died years ago. ill never get over it and cry even years later. she was everything to me like a sister. i see her in you at times. sorry this is long or kinda rambling on. just wanted to tell you youre appreciated, you and your family have been a joy in my life. i can tell you all cherish one another, ill never experience that but its been nice seeing others have that. love and best wishes to you all. 💜

I have a hard time getting out of bed in the mornings and it’s helped me to move to the living room right away when my alarm goes off. If you don’t want to use your phone in the morning, maybe move to a different location in your house while you chill but grow the habit of not using your phone in that location in the morning.

An idea for something to do in the morning: I started to write in a journal with a few prompts. I personally do (1) How am I feeling today? (2) What’s my intention for the day? (3) What am I excited for today? (4) What am I grateful for? (5) What needs to get done today? (6) Affirmations. I also have some blank space to write anything else that’s on my mind! Have been doing this for a while and it completely changed my mornings 😊

I'm not in the same tax bracket as you and don't get to travel as much (I got diagnosed with a chronic illness about a year ago and JUST NOW am starting to get back to regular life) but it's cool to get to see new places through your lens and hear different perspectives about things :). For the 9-9 phone use: find a spot outside your bedroom to put your phone over night. Buy an old school alarm clock and put your phone in it´s spot before going to bed. That way you won´t be on your phone forever in the evening and you can´t/won´t grap it first thing in the morning. I´d suggest to put your phone next to your bathroom sink, so when you get up to get it you can start your skincare routine right away and combine these to goals! I´ve been doing this for years now and it´s so helpful.

I must admit I do perk up when I see you have put out another video, such positive vibes in a negative world. Even when things don't go well for you, watching you and your family turn it around, showing love and support ends up being positive. I get a kick out of seeing what your generation get up to, love your travel vlogs and enjoy watching you cook, decorate or create in your home. I used to wake up with my coffee and morning news, I do NOT recommend. lol

I can’t really do the 9-9 rule in the am because I work at 8:30 and in childcare, so often I get texts about the kids moods or sickness. But I don’t allow myself to scroll insta, TikTok or Facebook until I’m seated down for a little break during the day. You could always try that. I’m sure answering emails and such may need to be done before 9 some days? I get a headache if I lay in my bed for too long in the mornings on weekends so I get up and make coffee and then do the things!

for your 9-9 problem: i wake up 8-8:30 am and only glance at my phone screen to make sure there's nothing pressing. if there's not (there's usually not) i just roll over and rest until im alert. i then get up and start addressing my physical needs-- get coffee, put on skin care, grab socks, put yesterday's dishes in the sink. once all that is done i'll sit down with my computer and coffee on the couch. By then it's usually 9 and I'll open up my social media if i want to, but usually i'm enjoying the calm and delay with a video until my coffee is done. It's hard to explain but social media forces you to engage and it changes the energy of the morning. I don't like to do it until I'm fully alert. Hope that helps put a media-less morning into context for you. It takes a while to break free of the "media itch", but I didn't like being driven by it. It's just your brain wanting those dopamine hits which really aren't good for you in this form.
I enjoy the small things a lot more now, and am a lot more content by myself now that the "itching" has calmed. Hope that helps!

I love to journal but sometimes I don’t have a ton of time so the app makes it easy to reflect quickly. 🥰

I'm focusing on my self too this year. Small steps to making my lifestyle healthier with more healthier snacks, starting a short workout once a week and getting out more, taking better care of my skin and a more positive mindset as I can be very pessimistic (my mum tells me off for it).
I love watching your videos, you inspire me to be a better person and love your advice you give out. Also in the morning you can sit with your coffee and read your book, be a lovely relaxing way to start the day!

I made a vision board for the first time this year! I was inspired by your video last year to start doing it. I used the same picture of the plane window/sky when I made mine. Love that for us!

Could you do videos on the topics of manifestation and self-love? ☺ Would love to hear about your journey and get some tips!! Would also love a tutorial on how you use your Dyson since you always manage to make your hair look good with it! These talks can be incorporated into your vlogs ofc 🥰

2023 is going to be a good year. It is exciting when we set realistic goals and so satisfying when we achieve them. I like the idea of writing a letter to yourself so you can reflect back at the end of the year. Awesome vlog Tara. Wishing you success and happiness in 2023🛍🇦🇺🥂cheers from down under

I started watching during the next door neighbor thing, and I’ve stayed for the you that you keep becoming. I hope that makes sense! Thanks for being you! If you haven’t, I’d recommend checking out Atlas of the Heart by Brené Brown. :) it can be listened to as an audiobook in 8 ish hours! Sending love your way! ❤

For the 9 to 9 goal. I might be helpful to put your phone out of reach so that it’s not the first thing you do in the morning.
Instead make other things more convenient (like a gratitude journal ) that way you’ll be more inclined to engage in that activity versus scrolling through your phone

so something i do every day (you can do morning or night) is think of things you're grateful for. I think of at least 5 that relate to the day i had. it can help with getting a more positive mindset. :)

I really liked your message at the beginning Tara. I’m 23 and absolutely have no idea what the crap I’m doing and it scares me because I feel like at this point I SHOULD be doing certain things but I’m not and it’s stressful….so I liked how you explained your thoughts. Thanks for that 🥰
