- The Russian air force was dealt a devastating blow by a Ukrainian ATACMS missile attack, with all missiles hitting their targets and destroying a S-400 Missile defense system and other facilities at the airfield. The Prime minister of Slovakia has been shot today, the motives of this crime are unknown at the moment, the Prime minister is in serious condition according to the Minister of Defense. Russian forces are being contained in the Kharkiv area, although the situation still remains tense. Ukrainian officials are also requesting that the US approve it's weapons to be used on Russian soil.

1. Targeting civilians has little strategic value. 2. Western support is crucial, targeting civilians would have a negative effect on maintaining that support. 3. The West will greenlight the targeting of Russian military assets within Russia soon and related infrastructure vital to their war effort. Give it time.

How odd, Xi Jinping never said to Putin that he would prefer Chinese weapons to be used on Russian soil only. That is simply not fair.
Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, zaporizhia, and Kherson oblasts are all Russian sovereign territory according to Russian law. As such, Ukraine has been bombing Russia for a long time.

That is a very misinformed position to take. Ukraine wasn't taken on the first semester of the war EXACTLY because they are already using western gear. And a cornered Putin could actually try to drag us all with his own downfall. Imagine if Hitler had a nuclear football handy on his last hours on that Berlin bunker then extrapolate that to current days, for a suitable analogy.

I get your take, but if nukes were used in a, let's say limited way, do you not think that is all based of mutual destruction. If Russia were to start using nukes, which would be wholly unprecedented, the response would be full scale annihilation. If they tried to launch and only got a few of their missles to work, the sheer response would wipe them off the map. Yes, this is akin to the most horrible possible outcome that everyone wants to avoid, do you really think Putin would risk everything, knowing the level of readiness of his arsenal, would do that. I am inclined to think his narcissism would want to keep him as safe as possible. Also, from pretty much the beginning of this conflict, Russia has stated that the areas taken in 2014 and oblasts captured more recently, are Russian soil. Thre have been "referendums" incorporating many of those areas into Russia. Haven't all the American weapons been used on those lands that Russia says is Russia?
@@Dead_Kerbaland Putin isn't backed into a corner. He could end the war and still keep power. It would be harder for him, but I don't think that he would actually do insane things. He is extremely pragmatic, he is not coming unhinged as Hitler was. If he pulled out if Ukraine, the war would not follow into Russia. It would stop at the nationally recognized borders that existed before 2014. Hitler was backed into a corner because he was trapped in Berlin, completely under seige from all sides with his military crushed. Russia would still maintain autonomy if they retreat back into their own country. That is a major difference in the situation. I am not saying Putin wouldn't use nukes of he was truly backed into a corner, but at the moment, he isn't.
Russia has stated they want to establish a buffer zone in the Ukraine, then Ukraine should reply that they are entitled to use US weapons to enforce an equivalent buffer zone within Russia. The deeper the Russian go, the deeper the Ukrainians should reply.

Talking about nuclear warfare due to Ukraine using ATACMS within russian borders is a bit much. The US could simply approve limited strikes just inside the russian border on force concentrations with russia not doing anything about it.
Or they could turn Belgorod into a Bahkmut like dump....

You’re wrong about the US restrictions remaining. They’re already being lifted. You’re wrong about a direct US-Russia confrontation necessarily ending in a nuke exchange. There is no question that the US could easily and quickly destroy Russian conventional forces. I don’t think the Russians would resort to nukes unless our ground forces - the US - crossed their 1991 boundaries on the way to Moscow. We can keep it regional without going nuclear.

The question about that airfield is - why now? They've been sitting on those missiles for weeks if not months, and the airfield has been there for a while as well.

It's already been answered, the question about use of American weapons in Russia. Blinkin said that Ukraine has a right tom use their weapons wherever they deem necessary to protect their country.

If you read the Budapest Memorandum, sadly no, we did not. _TECHNICALLY_ we only promised to SPEAK TO THE UN of any threats came against Ukraine.... 😞However, it's my belief that WE SHOULD BE protecting them, beyond sending aid. Russia signed that are well and *_I feel_* that the only reason the US and UK signed it was an an assurance that RUZ wouldn't beach the agreement...

ATACAMS are high velocity ballistic missiles. So they may be visible, but they are very difficult to intercept

As an American, I feel the need to say that US support of Ukraine is disgraceful at best.

I'm still in disbelieve over how little regard for OPSEC either side has in this war.... yes, lets just stream a vital military base so the enemy can pinpoint their attacks.
If that’s someone in a private dwelling with a phone there’s not much they can do. The Ukrainians already know the exact location of what they want to hit. US satellite data provides what they need to know to program missiles with precise targeting.
