Physical work is great for dealing with depression. I dealt with depression for a long time. I started working in construction and it worked wonders for my mindset.
That's very true. For me, just exercise alone doesn't do much to change a mindset. There has to be a project of some sort that is visibly different at the end, even if it's just digging a ditch.
Totally agreed. Working physically really helps! I'm also related to you. I haven't started working out properly yet though.... Starting to exercise and make time to go to the gym is hard xD...... I need to do it tho...!

it's absolutely okay to take a break, especially if you were depressed. everyone should make a break a normal and necessary thing.
also, don't be in a hurry and don't let the society put the pressure on you, follow your own pace. if it hasn't worked out for 3 years, it means nothing! you always can start again. I'm proud of you that you pulled yourself together and I really hope you feel much better now! Keep it up, you're doing great and I'm supporting you!~~~

A long time ago, I was on this place too (depression and anxiety) so, it's okay, just try to see socials as a hobby, it helps.
