As a volunteer firefighter it amazes me how the FDNY just go about there job and the general public just keep walking through the scene like nothing is happening. Your video's are on point and worth watching. Great Job.
WELL AT THE TIME THEY HAVE NO TIME TO SET UP FIRE LINES BUT I UNDERSTAND YOUR POINT! FOR THE MOST PART PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF KNOW HOW TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY OF OPERATIONS! THANKS! ;o)
They chased that fire all over the building and you are right...they stopped what could have been a major fire. Great work on their part and another great video from the master. Thanks.
Great work, as usual. Haven't seen your most recent videos. Thanks for taking the risk. Just be careful. I was a call firefighter for 14 years and my son is a LT at present. We appreciate the work you're doing.
Wow This is the Best I have watched on here! I like that you are getting them loading their hoses! I have not seen how they do that until now! Great Job!
Great Job John under trying conditions! You must walk 10 miles a day! Heard Engine 68 talking on the radio at one point! The Bronx Bombers are a favorite. Didn't see the truck itself though. Awesome job by The members of the FDNY!
How are able to get so close to the action with out getting in the way of the FDNY and how come you don't get moved out of the Area of danger your videos are so amazing
I see Squad 99 was assigned and responded on the 3rd alarm to Bronx Box 2985. John once again you shot superb video and provided excellent coverage from multiple angles at this 5th alarm in the Bronx. FDNY fire fighters and FDNY EMS members also did an excellent job as well. The only negative is the tragic loss of homes for many peoples. Being on call 24/7 do you ever get any sleep???
HAHA! YES WE WERE THERE WITH THE SQUAD 99! THANKS SO MUCH ALWAYS FOR THE KIND WORDS AND THE EMERGENCY SERVICES ALL DID A GREAT JOB! I GET ENOUGH SLEEP MOST OF THE TIME TOMMY! HEHEHE! ;o)
John, When I commented on you 5th alarm video I hadn't finished watching the complete video yet. After I commented I finished watching the complete video. Was Squad 99 assigned a new rig? I recall watching an older video of yours where Squad 99 broke down and you and you colleague were waiting for a service vehicle to arrive. In the older video I'm not certain which color Squad 99 was back then but it looked different from the current Squad 99. I also noticed you had your regular chase partner (colleague) with you in both videos. In any event Squad 99 looks great so I'm sure you and your colleague will get to see a lot more action in the future responding to emergency incidents in Squad 99. .
Joseph, we may never meet on Earth, but I will seek you out in Heaven, God willing. No not dying, just saying I'll never get to NYC, not the way my lungs are, and at 69 with 4 months to 70, gosh where the hell did time go LOL Have a good weekend, you are looking well, the dieting working well for you, just remember to stay hydrated and get as much rest as you can, your a night owl like me so Our clocks get turned around when don't get our rest. Just saying.
I'm surprised JJ you didn't launch a grabbling hook and scale the side of the building as you always seem to get the best vantage points.............be safe.
THEMAJESTIRIUM1 Yea because I tried looking for the one you have and I can't find it so it's hard since I don't know which one to get yah know. Don't want to buy one that doesn't allow me to use this frequency
John: Another great video, especially the rooftop views and the fireground audio. Much appreciate your efforts in capturing the fire scene. Thought you were going to get a personal interview with the Commissioner and the Chief when you were standing next to them at the end. 😀
Appreciate the video. It is a shame they don't have fire walls going up thru the roofspaces in these buildings, then a fire in one bit, wouldn't take over an entire block. It would sure be cheaper to construct such things even now, in existing buildings, than see the whole lot go up in flames, and all the displaced families, etc. The City should be demanding that of building owners...as well as the Fire Department itself demanding it.
Just to add, I know, I've said it before, but these would make great training videos. And if anyone wonders why FDNY routinely blows water out the windows, the way they do... that helps vent the interior!

When you went to the 2nd rooftop, looked like 2 or 3 guys where filming video dressed in FDNY clothing, just curious if they're part of the FDNY, and is that is an actual job title/position? Well done, another great video.
The guy in the grey suit was very rude some sort of reporter by the looks of it or a body guard still whoever he is he needs a lesson in manners u did a great 👍 job x
my father's family is Puerto Rican, they are from the Bronx, and I was born in Brooklyn. I also served as a volunteer firefighter and an EMT-Basic in Dutchess County. kudos to you for your videos. they are informative. Hollywood does not always do the fire service and EMS justice. thanks!
I heard this go out on the scanner and with the other calls could not figure it out. I heard the fire call go out as 6 story with a fire in the cock loft. Well that what I get for using a cheap android as my scanner. Thats for getting on video. Yeah on run an app and I have the scanner programed to about 50 or so fire and police depts. FDNY yesterday was coming in horrible and they were very busy when this call came out. It looked like another good job by FDNY.
