Fun story... she gave a show at the Metropolis in Montreal in the late 90's. I was with my uncle outside at the backstage listening to the show as best we could, whenever the door would open we'd get a glimpse of her! At the end she came out and walked to her hotel with some of her people, we walked with her and got her autograph and spent a good 20 minutes talking with her! I am from India and a huge Björk fan. "Dancer in the Dark - I've seen it all" was the first song that I heard in 2000. Back then we were still using the dial-up internet connection and it took about 20 hours to download this 40 MB video. There was no UA-cam at that time, P2P sharing software, like lime-wire, were the only way to exchange files. That song got me hooked to her music. My friends found me weird, finding this concert video on UA-cam feels like going back in time to those days.
I can't find words for Björk. My breath comes to a standstill. Everything I could say about this marvelous artist seems insignificant and meaningless! So I listend and watch in humility and gratitude!

I own most of her studio works and live performances, but have not seen this before. I have seen the dress before on the DVD of her performance in Cambridge, same tour I'm thinking. Great to see the same set done in a different venue. It's as good as any she's done. Thanks for sharing this treasure with us. I always enjoy Bjork!
Why UA-cam present me this concert ? It s my birthday and what a present. I went to différents concerts of Bjork. I relly appreciate to discover this one in Reykjavik. What an artist. She is full of love that i cannot resist.what a pretty woman , incredible voice and so good mélodies. I will always love her. I ve seen her last year for concert in Paris. She is still Bjork, so brillant. Thank u.
People who dislike Bjork are scientifically mindless, and musically ignorant. She is one of the greatest personalities in music, but no one can express the power of feelings in the way she does.
I love Björk but I have to disagree completely. You know, there's something called having an opinion. You literally are just saying that people with different opinions are less intelligent than you.
I tend to disagree. I've been a musician for 15+ years and I always overlooked Bjork's music, not because I was musically ignorant (quite the contrary), but because I was simply not in that place. Only know, in 2019, I finally was able to really feel her message. Enjoying Bjork has a lot more to do with your spirit than it has to do with your intelligence or musical prowess.

I love the early work from Bjork, like the songs on this live concert. But one incredible thing in this concert, was the time that people in the audience ask for the encore, more than 10 minutes, WOW. Great concert!!!
and i am thrown into the cold blanket, made of melodies and snowflakes a sound, a release of a loud whisper makes it to the stars disappear into the hazy void.
She is so Amazing and Beautiful Because she is Pure and Raw meaning REAL, not trying to be a certain image or pretend to be a certain anything, she doesn't care what anyone thinks she just is who she is and she is fiercely Brave and Brilliant and not afraid to voice her uniqueness and BRILLIANCE... And in being BRAVE she is FREE... has complete FREEDOM to be who she is and privelage the world with her sensual and soul soothing music that is a precious treasure and GIFT to all of us blessed to hear it! She is one of my favorite artists and nobody is like her, she defines creativity at it's BEST!!!! I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!
Ya gotta admit, she lives in her own world and she has a voice to which no other can copy nor compare. I started listening to Björk back in '93 when she was with the Sugarcubes and then ventured out on her own. It was (almost) as though the band held her back because once she went solo, she soared! This is a wacky chick, but she can sing!
Tf are you talking about held back? She was the major staple to that band. Sugarcubes' wouldn't be what it became without her and she expressed herself and was allowed to aswell
@@Tony-iu7sw The Sugarcubes were truly excellent, but only because Björk, and they knew it. That's why she was so free to express herself with them. But without her friends, she reached greater heights of creative genius that couldn't have been achieved with them. Hence: "held back".
@@mckenzombie well this is all subjective because everyone has different taste in music. Personally I can't stop listening to the sugarcubes. But I'm not really into Bjorks solo albums.. don't get me wrong, she created quite a few good tracks I really like, but none compared to what she did with the Cubes. I can listen to their entire albums all day on replay. Blue eyed pop, Deus, Coldsweat, Planet, Regina, walkabout.. I can go on
@@MisAnnThorpe not really. Maybe for some songs, yes. But listen to Dragon. It's a good example of how he actually helps the particular track.. Blue Eyed Pop, Cat, and Traitor are other great examples... Even the Revised version of Colsweat ( "Hot Meat" )
I still remember the first time I ever heard Bjork's voice, when hearing the Sugarcubes song 'Birthday' in the late 80's. I thought: "OMG where is this heavenly voice coming from?". Then I got the album "Life's Too Good", and have been enamored by everything she does, since. Then many moons later, in approx. 2001/2002 I got to see her live from 4th Row of the brand new Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, at which point I honestly could have died a happy woman! She's a Goddess, and I love her. Thank you for this concert!! ~:D
Incredible concert. So intimate and deep with her voice together with the chords hitting directly your soul and your mind. Just flying over the clouds with Björk.
Amazing...absolutely! I wonder how and why I never heard her before! Today I have been through all of it, the whole history of her work. I am thinking my next vacation should be in Iceland!
I start to discover her a month ago. Only knew less then five songs before. I totally felt in love with her and her art. She is now my favoite female artist and I want also go to Iceland and see her live!
She could make my whole emotional center stand right on the edge. Her energy was so brave and raw, like a lot of the other great 90s artists, but she was also clearly a pioneer.
@@CaptainDooDoo-ans Well I know people who've encountered her who would certainly dispute the idea that she is sweet! I know of no other "pop star" as talented or unique as Bjork but I think it is probably rare for exceptionally creative types to be "nice" people. They tend to be so obsessed with their art that for want of a better word, it makes them very "selfish".
@@MisAnnThorpe I read: I don't have any talent and have never made anything of myself. I'm jealous and bitter, so I'll lump her in with all the rest under the sad little bias I hold for great people.
@@CaptainDooDoo-ans I'm not convinced you can read at all or if you can then you certainly appear to have difficulty following the gist of what people are saying. I've just told you that I consider her the MOST talented and unique of popular musicians. I've also told you that I know people who've met her (in a work capacity) and they've told me that she was less than polite to them. I could give you further detail but I can't be bothered and you don't deserve it. You need to grow out of your pathetic celebrity worship as you sound like exactly the kind of person that Bjork would feel uncomfortable to be around.
Superb! I love Bjork! I've been a fan since Debut. Last year I had the pleasure of seeing her perform in NY. Would love to see her again, she puts on an amazing show!
I know that I am not alone in finding myself constantly clapping throughout the entire concert, as if I was there! This was one of the absolutely best concert-performances that I have EVER seen, and it is mainly because her voice is one of those rare voices that truly sparkles brilliantly when accompanied with a classical string-orchestra. There are some songs that I do not like, but stunning beauties like "Um Akkeri" and "Possibly Maybe" outshine ANY negativity. BJORK IS BEAUTIFULLY UNIQUE.

Master musician. Vocal powerhouse. A Bright-minded smart-kindness human. From the first time i heard of the Sugar cubes 80's still 'addicted' to this amazing artist. 💚🎶🙏🏼
I've never heard of Bjork any other way but from fame until now, so I came here out of curiosity. At the beginning I was like "what is this ?" and ended completely fascinated by the whole thing. If you are familiar with the names of Yoko Kano, Origa, Ghost in the Shell or Cowboy Bebop, you'll recognize the influences from it for sure ;)
She is nothing short of PHENOMENAL OMG how can anyone not fall in love with her??? If you have any depth at all.... Stunning in Awe of her boldness and powerful freedom in expressing herself from the depths of her soul... So Beautiful...So Pure... It puts me in another world when I listen to her sing... In Total Awe of her always...😍💖💝❤️🔥
I've been a huge Björk fan for as long as I can remember, have seen her live, and listened to a load of live recordings - these may just be the best versions of these songs I've ever heard.

My GOODNESS, this woman is AMAZING!!
It's incredible that she sounds much better live than in the albums.
I can go on
@@Tony-iu7sw Doesn't Einar's voice somewhat ruin everything though?!
ManBehindTheMirror - Collections My god. She’s been a world famous art and music icon since the 1990’s. Putting out records since she was child.
What a voice,what a girl,what a concert!
I can listen these songs all day long.
No wait.
All life long!!!
She could make my whole emotional center stand right on the edge. Her energy was so brave and raw, like a lot of the other great 90s artists, but she was also clearly a pioneer.
and she even helped Madonna make a pretty decent album :D
It's impossible to even imagine a sweeter, smarter, more humanist human that Bjork. I think she IS the one.
You know her well?
@@MisAnnThorpe Through her lyrics, music, music videos, interviews and documentaries.
No one better:)
She is an elf from Lothlorien...'so old and young, and so gay and sad, as it were.' Quite a beauty.
I'm here still in 2020!
Same, always love it!

Just delving into Bjork after all these years. What an astonishing talent and bright light in the world.
For a girl of eight years old she's got a marvelous voice, hasn't she ?! Great performance.
Huuuhhh
One thing I definitely love about her is the way she sings those vocals mixed with like sweet laughters... It's just incredible
Cant stop listening her magical entrancing voice and wathing captivating smooth dance. This show is the best from all youtube recordings with her, clothnig, emotions and orchestra are perfect.
The music and electrónico sounds are amazing!!!
Wonderful experience, Thanks for sharing!!!
Dearest Björk, I think that you've been commissioned ("ordained") by music to convey emotions through your voice from listeners.
Gratitudes back to you, Björk.
warmth and endless respect.
Claudia from ITALY
Bjork, you are, have been and will be always a simple, wonderful and original singer and artist ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for your beautiful music🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Master musician. Vocal powerhouse. A Bright-minded smart-kindness human. From the first time i heard of the Sugar cubes 80's still 'addicted' to this amazing artist. 💚🎶🙏🏼
Thank you Bjork. You have truly enriched my life. I appreciate you so much! 🙏
Thank you so much for make this available. That is a beautifull gift !
Aurora is a young great Singer from Norway !
4 mins in, and I'm hooked!
Thanks for sharing.
I've been a huge Björk fan for as long as I can remember, have seen her live, and listened to a load of live recordings - these may just be the best versions of these songs I've ever heard.
This was amazing.
There was something very fuckin.... special(?) about this show.
I hope at least a few of you people listening/ are familiar with this music MORE THAN JUST THE PAST 15YRS!
WAIT! Mollylurcher, This is the performance that I had on CD called Europa, which is impossible to find now! I guess I must have had a bootleg. This is by far, my favorite album of hers/performance! You just made my day! Make that, my year!!!!!
