I'm a Korean, and it seems there are some misunderstandings, so let me explain a few expressions. First, in Korea, the phrase "너 죽고 나 죽자" (literally translated as "I will kill you or Let's both die") is commonly used. For Koreans, this expression doesn’t sound like a literal threat or intent to harm but is rather a dramatic way of speaking. Second, the phrase "너 바보야?" (Are you stupid?) is also widely used in Korea. It's not typically meant to insult someone but rather carries a playful tone, like saying "You silly!" I wanted to clarify these because, from watching foreigners’ reaction videos, it seems these phrases are often misunderstood.
I understood this, but I also still think it wasn't an okay thing to say in that moment and I'll always be upset with her in that moment lol. Autistic people also often take phrases literally (Young Woo even mentions how it's difficult to know exactly how people are feeling. Everything from the words to the tone and expression were harsh). Not always ofc, and we're not as bad at understanding sarcasm and stuff as people think (though this also ofc, is a spectrum). I also wouldn't be surprised if Young-woo knew it's meant to be "playful", however from her reaction it obviously was unpleasant to hear. So while I like people clarifying/translating the meaning/intention- I still don't defend the friend's actions/words in that moment.
As someone with autism, this is one of my favourite shows that depicts a character with autism. Autism is such a difficult thing to represent because it’s a whole spectrum. One person may be the complete opposite to another but they both have the same diagnosis. This show is one of the best representations of autism in a single person I’ve EVER seen! I love this show so much it’s amazing
@@RoxxyFlywith pingyu? I actually liked the depiction of a lower functioning character. His character was sweet and the way he processed his emotions was very common (and well depicted) for someone who’s so low functioning and with the brain capacity of a child.
@Cailey_forman yes! Okay i thought so too. Still such a sad sad case but one of my favorite eps because even though young woo is also autistic she was also challenged as well showing how far the spectrum spreads.
He isn’t snacking on the things women are giving him b/c in Korea that implies that you like that person back… the women are giving him treats as a symbol of them liking him….
I have a 3 year old that was recently diagnosed with autism and watching this show is such a comfort. It was already one of my favorite dramas, but after her diagnosis I've been watching with a fresh pair of eyes
Actor Jeon Bae-Su (Woo's dad) is so sweet and kind in this drama. But in Divorce Attorney Shin he's a evil, slimy attorney, I was shocked at first. Shows he's a great actor. By the way, loved Divorce Attorney Shin, very underrated.
One of the best shows out there. I love re-watching it with reactors but there aren't too many around so I was pleased when yours showed up for me. Happy to say yours is one of the best reactions I have seen so far. Subbed for it. Thanks for making me laugh out loud. ()
@17:07 Just knowing the client is not necessarily a conflict of interest. A conflict of interest comes up when the lawyer could benefit by not properly representing their client - like if their client is suing a company owned by the lawyer's relative or something.
After years of me trying to make my mom watch kdrama (and giving up), this was the one that made her get into this world (by herself). Now she watches even more than me. 😂
OK, a lot to unpack here. I'm glad you have a porpoise for learning whale names. I graduated law school and passed the bar in the US and worked for several years with the developmentally disabled (including autistics), so I really love this series. 1) Keep in mind that it's Korean law, so standards around bar passage and penalties for "insult" are different. This definition of insult sounds like slander, but slander is civil in the US and wouldn't be punished by prison, and I suspect in Korea it has to be pretty severe to warrant imprisoning someone. I also never remember getting an actual score back on the bar and don't ever remember anyone caring what it was. Realizing it's Korean law is important for the entire series, because there are some jaw-dropping differences. As far as conflict of interest, it isn't conflict of interest just because your parent rented from someone when you were a child. It's future conflicts that might be a problem. Yes, you want to settle as an attorney. Usually. Because you've read a ton of cases and know crazy stuff happens. Literally insane stuff. That kind of risk is not fun. A lot of the cases for this show are based on actual cases in Korea, btw.
@@rose241inBigbang's Sunset Glow is veeery popular there.(the lyrics b to the i to the g one) I believe it tops melon chart for 5+ weeks, still in chart until this day (2008 song fyi)
Such a great show. I watched the English dub version on Netflix (which was well done). I am rewatching it now with Korean audio though (I like hearing the actors true voices).
This was my first ever kdrama I watched, and have fallen in luv with the genre. My son has ASD, which was one of the main reasons why I watched it. So happy you are doing a reaction to it.
im an autistic young woman and this show has changed my life. its so so accurate, the walking, the whale obsession ... thank you for reacting i love this show !!!
29:00 Ah ah ah, don't judge too quickly. You'll see Choi Su-yeon is a really nice character and a good friend. She and Woo have one of the most emotional/cutest scenes in the whole series, wait for episode 5.
as a reactor I will always react in the moment. I will judge characters based on the things they have done, not what they may potentially do in the future. When they do the thing in the future, you will see my reaction to that and how my perception has been shifted by the new information given to me by the show.
You haven't reacted to the drama yet! You won't regret it.😊😊 Woo Young-woo's co-worker (Su-yeon) who got mad at her after helping her, "Are you stupid?" sounds rude if you literally read it, but in fact, her words contain a worrying nuance. Feeling a little frustrated because of worry? I think this part is a misunderstanding because it's hard to read the emotions felt in foreign language conversations. Given that almost all the other foreign reactors misunderstood in this scene, it would have been difficult for anyone but Koreans to notice. But Woo Young-woo also seems a little hurt because he couldn't read the nuance of what Su-yeon said and took it as it is...
I'm currently watching the female lead Park Eu-bin in the great 2020 series 'Do You Like Brahms?' The father character was the firefighter father in 'All Of Us Are Dead'.
This one of my favorites! Great one! ❤. This got me hooked 😎 You should consider doing Move to Heaven..( and just fyi.. probably recognized her, but the old lady was on squid games.. well she’s not that old but😂)
Also @19:26 The reason why settling is so important isn't just to wrap up the case quickly (although since lawyers get paid hourly, it's in the best interest of their clients to get the job done as efficiently as possible so they don't get overcharged) - it's also because you never know what a jury is going to decide. Even if you firmly believe your client should win, a jury can decide otherwise. When you settle, you might not get everything your client wants, but it's usually way better than the risk of losing in court.

why is it 죽고 and not 죽이고 ?
@@Kimi-xp2thi think that 너 죽이고 would rather mean « you kill him/her » while 너 죽고 is more like « you die »
