A short film in the style of Lav Diaz sounds absolutely ridiculous, but somehow you made it work quite nicely. One very characteristic I feel like you missed in both your explanation and the short is that many scenes begin with just the scenery and the protagonists enter the scene only after some time (10-60 seconds). This really makes the world of the movie feel more real, because it does exist outside of the protagonists experience.
