I'm not a wood worker but I plan to make this project just because of how simple it looks and how amazingly brilliant the way to make drawers are. Thanks again for a great video :)
Very nice. I like how your projects are a bit more down to earth than others in that you let certain things slide (such as the extra long rabbits), easily fix or cover them up, and have no issue showing them on video. Good job!
I loved the way you figured out how to make the drawers. So much simpler and time saving to boot. IF I can ever clean my way to my saws, I might just attempt to make one similar. Keep the videos coming.... love your sense of humor.
Good problem solving with the veneer on the bottom and the mitered joinery on the top molding It was nice how you squeezed as much use as possible out of a small amount of wood. I would like to challenge you to build something out f two board feet of wood and see what you come up with.. I was amazed how the grain of the wood popped when you sprayed on the laquer. How many coats did it finally take?
dude i like you. You seem like a down to earth guy. i'm a beginner in woodworking and i enjoy your videos you make them seen like all of us can do these projects thanks Mike
hi Steve, greetings from Brasil, i probably saw every single video that you have made, and a i have to say, your work is becoming more and more professional. Not so for mere mortals any more. Its really nice to see your work. Best regards.
i really like this project this guy is amazing doing wood project since a few months ago i became a fan of his projects.. i will do this when i get all the tools needed.. thanks mister Ramsey
Great video Steve, very nice camerawork showing your skills. It's nice to be wacky, but that doesn't mean you can't be handy at the same time :-) Not crazy about the music though, not unless you're renaming the show to "Woodworking inside an Elevator"
Wow, Steve, you really have done a super job on this video project. Your drawer making technique is fantastic- something I will keep in mind for future projects. thanks for showing us your work and techniques.
It looks like you have inherited a lot of tools (I love the wear and tear and patina on the C-Clamps for instance). I'm betting, like me, you have a lot of your father's / grandfather's implements of creation.
It won't take great loads, heck, the drywall will give before the coat rack does. And you answered your own question, because it's pretty. Strenght is not always the primary concern ;)
Kudos, like the look. If I could make a suggestion... find a mechanical join other than butt joints and glue for the end grain to face grain gluing. Over time... they will not hold. Wood movement will cause the glue line to fail and so there will be nothing left to hold the drawers together but the glue. I must compliment you on your persistence and stamina... Keep trying new things. When My shop is set up, I may be able to make video responses and share techniques.
I was wondering why I'm always like watch your videos, (even subscribe you channel) I'm just a student, I'm not doing any kind of woodworking. But I found the way you build something is interesting to watch.. keep on the good work..!! :D
I love this coat rack! I am going to make it (with cherry) when I move in to my new house. Do you have plans anywhere for this? I looked on your website and didn't see anything. I watch all your videos, thank you for the inspiration!!!!
Awesome Rack ;) ... one thing to point out tho, it would have been ideal if you matched the number of hooks with the number of drawers (4 people, 4 drawers, 4 hooks). Anyway, very nice project... keep up :)
I like the project, think my wife will too. But not sure what to put in the drawers - my car and motorcycle are both keyless / use keyfobs which never leave my pocket. I'm sure we'll think of something though. :D
I was watching this video because I was curious how you were going to attach it to the wall. Questions I still have are: what kind of screw or hardware would you use if you were putting it into drywall? Would you use those drywall anchors in addition to a long, say 4 inch wall screw? Or is it more like a drill screw? I have no experience with this stuff. Pros and cons of different hardware?
Hey Steve great work, I see you use a lot of spray on varathane, I have a can and when I spray a piece of work and come back in a couple hours to give it a light sanding it's still sticky to the touch. I even left a piece drying for 24 hours and it was still sticky. Got any ideas?
You could have cut the bottom piece longer and just remove the excess leaving the ends protruding to fill the space between the front, back and side pieces...
Hi Steve! Great item ! I wish to make one as well and was wondering if you could give me the dimensions for this ! It would be most appreciated if you respond back to this comment ASAP as I am really looking forward to making this :) Thanks Steve
Hey boss, when spraying you seemed to be ambidextrous wow I would cut off my right arm to be ambidextrous, My friend had her car keys behind the door one, day the police knocked on her door to tell her that her had been in an accident, she said no my car is there in the street and pointed to the spot her was parked , someone had opened her door and took her keys then her carand smashed it, Graeme
Very nice! Always like seeing these older videos.
This is one of my all time favourite projects, and I come every now and then to revisit it. I still like it as much as the first time I watched it!
super pretty wood
Your method for making the drawers is GREAT! You always seem to find easy ways to do things that are thought to be complicated. Excellent work, Steve.
I'm not a wood worker but I plan to make this project just because of how simple it looks and how amazingly brilliant the way to make drawers are. Thanks again for a great video :)
definitiva mente si me gusto y lo voy a a ser la idea de los cajones es genial gracias con usted siempre se aprende algo nuevo

The grain is gorgeous!
Great job! I love the way you made the drawers all at once. Brilliant! Thank you!

That redwood is beautiful
Great project! This would be a great candidate for a french cleat mount.
Where you mounted on the wall doesnt the door hit it when its gets opened all the way?Great video as always.

Great idea for making drawers. Nice and simple. I like simple. A lot! Thanks for sharing Steve.
Very nice i think this is gonna be one of my little projects to.
As soon as i can find some reclaimed wood and find a little space to work in :-)
Wow, Steve, you really have done a super job on this video project. Your drawer making technique is fantastic- something I will keep in mind for future projects. thanks for showing us your work and techniques.
Thanks Steve, I am in a lull waiting on coats of stain to dry and appreciate this small project.
Odds of me making this is slim to none, but I would love to have this, and I find your woodworking videos very calming and cool!
It looks like you have inherited a lot of tools (I love the wear and tear and patina on the C-Clamps for instance). I'm betting, like me, you have a lot of your father's / grandfather's implements of creation.
Nice!
I think it was better in oil finish....or shellac.
My opinion :)
It won't take great loads, heck, the drywall will give before the coat rack does.

Beautiful shelf wish I had wall space for one
cool video i cant wait untill school starts so i can make some of these things in my mood work class!
@Radh1215 I have a long door stop near the floor to stop the swing.
This is a great video! This is exactly the kind of demonstration on the drawers that is so useful! Thank you
you shouldve etched initials in the drawers so that everyone sorta has their own "locker"
@mrsargemeister It just holds the workpiece against the fence so it doesn't wobble. They need to be rigid, yet flexible.
@abenacchio Thanks. It's a very simple project. Especially when I figured out an easy way to make the drawers.
its a kind like multifunctiional furniture
genioooo me alegra haberte encontradoooo me ayudas a trabajar cada día mejor y trabajamos juntos
Nice, I enjoy it.

+perpetuallylove you could use wall anchors such as zip its, but your best bet is to go with toggle bolts which is shown here in this video.
Genial la idea. Creo que la copiaré xD . Sigue así. Saludos!!

this is great! do you think it will work on a larger scale? say, using it as a tv shelf?
@zsavage8 Spray lacquer.
I'm surprised you didn't make this out of pallet wood!
What is the name of that metal thing you put on the back that you used to hang the coat rack from? Thanks for making all the great videos!!
what did you spray on the drawers ?
esta muy interesante tu canal me gustaria q tenga subtitulo a español
What was the finish that you used?
You could have cut the bottom piece longer and just remove the excess leaving the ends protruding to fill the space between the front, back and side pieces...
@badandy2246 Haha...well it's a little different than Metallica.
Hi Steve! Great item ! I wish to make one as well and was wondering if you could give me the dimensions for this !

Beautiful, Steve. Well Done👍🏼
no hablo ingles pero esta genial, gracias steve
@thewooforfun Yeah, making drawers sucks!
cool project, but isn't all that wood make the coat rack very heavy?
+Xantiago P Doesn't really matter as long as it's securely mounted to the wall.
What does he use to hang it up?
AWESOME video! How much do you sell this for?
what did you spray the wood with?
Nice!:)
Nice job, thanks for share it (y)
