Mythwind Playthrough Episode One - Farmer in Spring

- Real Talk - I had SO much fun making this video! I've always wanted to try filming playthroughs but nerves always got the better of me. The technical aspects of two cameras and all the editing are of course daunting, but it's also a little nerve wracking to know that someone is going to be watching your every move and decision in a game.
That being said, I actually really enjoyed watching this back and seeing myself make tough choices as the game progressed. I feel like it gave me new insight into myself as a person and how I process, which is very cool!
So what did you think of Mythwind? So far, I really like it, though this play session was not enough! I need to see more of this world and these characters. I feel like I just got a taste, just got started, when it ended! The great thing is, you don't have to stop there. I could have chosen to just keep playing. In this way, play sessions can last as long or as short as you want them too!

I have to say it was really chill, it was like watching a story teller telling the story whilst experiencing it. I was able to to sit back and knit whilst watching Tod's story unfold, and now I need to know if he ever finds bigfoot and falls in love :D
It is very much an enemies to lovers situation at this point! Haha
"We'll just knock him over. He's sleeping." I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this, but you made it the exact opposite of boring! I love how you inserted jokes, made Todd come to life, and explained the game so easily. Thank you!

Great choice for your first let’s play. This open ended game is a nice vehicle to let your personality and humor shine.
Thank You!!! I also liked that it was a little lighter on the rules front. Trying to do something like Gloomhaven I think I could easily get lost in the mechanics and forget to actually have fun with the video making aspect. But maybe someday! Haha.

This was great - very entertaining but also a good look at what Mythwind is like to play. Would love to see another character in spring, but also would make sense to keep playing as Farmer Todd. Will definitely watch either way! (Sorry, that's probably no help 😂)

I really enjoyed this! I love your personality and the causal relatable way you do your videos. On top of that, I also love boardgames (especially long format story types) but don't often have time to sit and learn the rules and play. This was a great way for me to learn about a new game and decide if it is one I would like to fit into my free time! I'd love to see another!
I loved this. I want to get into solo games, because there's no one immediately around that I can play things with, but I'm new to board games so even though I know in theory what sorts of games I might like, it's hard to know how that will translate into reality. And games are expensive so I want to know as much as possible before I commit. These sorts of videos feel like I get a taste of what different games are like and have to offer before I commit. Plus! It's just a fun story! Great to sit back and watch for a chill weekend.

I had so much fun watching this! The game looks fun to play already but watching it with your commentary made it a whole lot more fun and exciting.
Even though I am curious about other characters and would like to see their adventures too, I'd like to see the end of Todd's adventure before moving on to another character, or as you suggested, having another character to Todd's adventure also sounds interesting!!

It was fun to watch you do a play through. I have felt some of the same things you did when playing games. I think seeing what another character does would be fun to see.

@@kristenumansky8855 I just did two characters for the second season. I will have the video up later in the week but it definitely didn't seem to overwhelming. I mean, it was a little at first, but it was fun to have more options, and one bad turn for one character didn't seem so bad since the other character was doing something different.
This was so much fun to watch! Mythwind seems like a really fun game. I'd love to see how the Crafter plays, but I'm also incredibly curious to see more of Todd's story.

Do more Mythwind play throughs. Unlike many games, there are not enough Mythwind plays on UA-cam. I like play throughs that deal with real time issues that the rulebooks are vague on. I like knowing I am not the only person playing that isn't getting part of it and gets confuzzled.

I've been a quiet watcher on Instagram for a while now, commenting is not something I usually do at all, but you asked for feedback, so I will.
This was charming, I watch boardgame playthroughs quite often, it's fun to listen while I craft (cross stitch) and I'm so happy to add a new playthrough to my list. I can't wait to see the next one and hope to see what Todd gets up to next. Though I do also want to see the other characters, just not yet. I hope you do a bunch of these, but on your own time. Loved Todd and your playthrough! I’d be super down to see how the Crafter plays next. I feel like cycling through the characters at least once each would be a great way to cast an even wider net for future viewers. But we MUST come back to see how Todd’s overgrown lil patch of land is doing after seeing the other characters haha.
Yeah, I really want to try all the characters. I'm actually thinking about playing two characters at once and seeing how that goes. I think it should be manageable since the game isn't too complex.

Watching the other characters would be fun but I really hope you keep with Todd. I'm invested in him. I'm sad there wasn't a junk journal video this week but it was so much fun and totally makes up for it.

Thanks for doing this! Very entertaining and insightful. Eagerly awaiting my copy in the mail (should be any day), and I also plan on starting with the farmer. I may spend an entire year with each character, just to see which one I like the best, although I'm considering playing 2-handed with the ranger alongside. I'd love to see more of you playing Mythwind, either as Todd or with a new character. Be warned, however, that the crafter has all sorts of earth-shattering errata, such that your crafter journal is mostly useless...
Ohh, good to know. I am also thinking of playing two characters starting in summer. I need to read all of the characters first though to see which would make a good balance with the farmer. He sort of works for playing two handed as his mechanics are pretty simple overall.
Came from Instagram, I love this!!!! Normally I find it hard to sit through 40+ plus minute videos but this went by too fast. I wanted it to keep going. I think we need to continue with Todd, I’ve already grown attached to him hahaha

This was so cool! I am never able to see playthroughs to the end, I get bored. But when this one ended I was like “Already???” Definitely do more. 😊 Also, I have to get this game!! Loved it! My wallet is mad at both you and me right now. 😂

Absolutely loved this. As someone who doesn't play boardgames but would love to, this really sparked an interest for me. It does remind me of Animal Crossing (haven't played the other games), the grindy nature at the beginning, wanting to build everything but having no money so I loved that.
Stick with Todd for the summer so he can make some money coz he's a poor boy, lol, then I'd love to see how a change of character works with a new season. Is that money just Todd's or does it move to the next character (think it should be Eric the crafter, hahaha😂).

We played Mythwind today too! Really enjoyed the play-through and would love to see more of Todd. Just one thing about the event cards - I think you added cards 4 and 7, but you’re supposed to add 4 through 7. I just started the video and you asked for constructive criticism, so here goes: your lights change colour slowly, which is probably nice for everyone seeing you live. But whenever there is a cut in the video my ADHD brain gets confused, because the colour changes in a flash.
I know it's a teeny tiny issue but I also guess it's an easy fix in future projects, if you even choose to change anything.
I will continue watching either way ❤

I wish Todd was colorful. Why is everything so colorful bit the characters. He just looks so bland with the gray. Maybe that's why he is so grumpy cause he has no color to him.
Well that is because I have not painted him yet, haha! I've actually never painted minis for games before. Maybe that will be something else I try this year! But you are right, Todd needs some color in his life!
