I thought Lilith was Adam's first wife. She was created the same as Adam was, and as such, she refused to be subject to him, and so she left him for an angel, probably Samael AKA Satan. Then Eve (Hava) was created using one of Adam's ribs, and so she was subject to him. Meanwhile, Lilith went off and spawned another lineage of people and/or demons. @02:55 According to this midrash, Lilith was Adam's first wife, created from the same earth as him, making them equals. However, Lilith refused to be subservient to Adam, leading to conflict. She uttered the divine name of God, fled the Garden of Eden, and became associated with demonic activity. God then created Eve from Adam's rib as a more compliant partner.
She was never the wife of Adam. Eve was and is Adam first and only wife. Demonic activity and the very name demon did not appear until after the flood. For their origin came about after the flood, since that spirit is that of the Giants.
Came here to comment this. This guest on the other hand seemed to come up with his own story (ironically after calling out the “imagination” of others) of Adam started hooking up with Lilith (no explanation where did she conveniently pop up from ) after Eve stopped sleeping with him after their expulsion from Eden.

He does, its just very hard to articulate. He is talking about real truth. Truth that is and always has been. Think of software. Eve literally eating an apple by a tree is the front end UI we all see as "true". But the real truth is the backend software code. That is the only way I can put it. I'm not saying it is a metaphorical. But it HAPPENED
Why do people keep calling it an apple? It shows they haven't even read the bible. Everything they think they know about the biblical stories they just cobbled together from old paintings.
Rogan talks about entities talking to him all the time, in a place that feels "more real" than reality here. Yet 1 talking snake is where he draws the line. Why
If the guest just said that the snake spoke to Eve via some form of imaginal, mystical, dream or psychedelic experience what he was saying would have made sense. Instead the guy just babbled without explaining what he meant.
@ He was long winded explaining the story but his point was that what the bible said was really what happened. In this reality a talking snake talked to Eve. This isn’t that far off from Joe talking about his own experiences with “entities” and taking what they say as real. Yet he acts this story is so outlandish and unbelievable. That’s all my point is.
Much respect for this speaker tip-toeing around the subject in the manner he did, without destroying its journey in meaning. Very well put while preserving it for the reader to find out for themself. Much respect
There’s nothing to debate. Billy’s whole premise is based on fake documents, proven and admitted by scholars to be frauds. Billy has nothing to stand on not even an actual education. Not to mention he has previously been arrested for a fake identity caught with fake ID’s. Billy is such a fraud that’s it’s actually crazy he has fooled people this long. I even bought the emerald tablets book. The emerald tablets are a fabled they do not exist.
Adam and Eve are a metaphor for the moment humans became conscious and aware of right and wrong. The moment we emerged from being an animal without consciousness.
Yes ofcourse they do, but not the kind that distinguishes between good and evil. Thats the whole point. The apple from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. I also believe its a story about a step forward in evolution. Not a bad thing at all. Also serpents are wise animals in most ancient traditions.
The weird thing is, the story of lucifer (literally light bringer) is also one of becoming autonomous. And can be seen as the first to make possible the experience of being separated from God and finding out what God or consciousness or whatever really is. It is understandable we would see it as a demon, because the experience is very painful. But also in my opinion the experience is very much appreciated by God and us as formerly part of God, having chosen to enroll in this shit/here ordeal.
Graham Hancock mentioned Heiser on one of his episodes and Joe was familiar with his website debunking Sitchen. I often use Heiser clips when doing my reviews of JRE
This is exactly why I can't have a conversation with a religious person about the bible. "I think a snake talked eve out of eating an apple" ahh yes. The snake who speaks ancient Samarian seems legit
He's obviously read the Bible, but he can not remember the order of when whatever story happened, which makes it MUCH harder to answer questions. Plus, he's a poor speaker, which makes it hard to understand any point he may be trying to make. He seems confused, so answering questions must be hard for him to do.
😂😂 yea. Because all history means nothing if the roman pedophiles don't say so. Because Christianity just has such a peaceful history right. Such willing believers for the first 1600 years😂😂
Wes Huff mentioned that Joe doesn't bring on guests people are clamoring for just one's he himself is interested in so it's not likely and he isn't really even among the best in his field scholars like Dan Wallace or Peter J Williams who have many more decades of research in NT matters would be better but unlikely they'd be brought on as well.
If Rogan wants to talk about the Bible, he should get some real theologians, Bible scholars and Pastors on the show. I personally would love to see that interaction. Maybe John Piper, Paul Washer, Douglas Wilson? Men like that. Biblically trained and changed men
What is Joe even trying to say for half of this clip? Regardless if you believe it was Adam, Eve, and a snake or a warped telephone version of the story shouldn’t the teachings be the thing you worry about, which would be the same in both stories, not the semantics?

Lilith is not mentioned in the Hebrew bible. There are some translations of Isaiah which use the word Lilith, but it's talking about scary night creatures, not the Lilith of legend.
It’s like a dream, in the moment it seams to be real, and you act as if it were real, but then you wake up and you realize it wasn’t, but it still feels real. Or when everyone believes in something, even if it isn’t true, it pretty much becomes real, because everyone acts as if it so. For example there was a time when most people thought the world was flat and in their lived experience it was, even though it actually wasn’t.
Queen Lilith came first, before Eve. She was Adam’s first wife, then Eve came after. Origins within the story goes Lilith didn’t want to be controlled by Adam, she wanted to be on top of Adam in an intimate way but Adam wanted to be on the top; so they suffered great disagreements. So eventually Lilith left Adam and the Angel who stood before the gates of Eden, reconciled with her. Saying that she knows if she leaves Eden she could never return. And what’s outside of Eden is foreign to her for she’d be leading herself into the unknown. But … she left anyway. Then she became damned and is known as Queen of the underworld. Then God blessed Adam with Eve, and eventually after that I’m sure many of us know how the story goes. Not so much long after Lucifer’s fall, he eventually slithered his way into the garden and manipulated Eve into eating from the tree of forbidden fruit; in which she did. Then Adam did as well. And now this is why we are all in Hell. Essentially it seems to me that we are all paying for our parents sins, but we’ll make it through. God has us as long as we have Him. If I must state some scripture for all to become accustomed to, especially within the stages of the world we currently live in would be to.. remain “vigilant for your adversary The Devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour”. There is so much more to this entire creation that I feel all of our souls are longing for. But I truly believe soon in time, the truth will be revealed before all of our eyes and they shall be forever open; fixated on the glory that stands before them. May God bless you all.
Yeah seems like a psychology thing to me. He focuses on the state of mind of the reader, so if THEY believe it's true, then he needs to believe it also, at least for the purposes of understanding the reader's thinking.

People like this. I thanked he was forced to go political. You cant say Epstein without saying Trump or Clinton. But people can't believe they both are nasty. They choose sides and say my guy is less nasty than your guy.
This is way deeper than he’s explaining it. Lilith was never made to commit fornications etc. She was the first WOMAN alive and Eve was the second after her. Lilith would not obey her husband ADAM and wanted her husband to now down to her she didn't want to submit so god spoke to her and she disobeyed god after a long back and forth god sent a demonic curse upon her because she was getting out of control, she became evil in her doings and it displeases god. The man was made to rule not woman and if you don't submit to your man's leadership then you are not for men. After the plague upon Lilith Adam became lonely. And god put him to sleep to take from his rib to create Eve. Now Eve came about and she was deceived by the serpent into eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge. The moral of it all is that a woman was made to comfort and support their king/husband because they are more easy and prone to give in while a man is harder to convince that's why in today's day. They don't go after the man directly anymore they attack their homes through women and provide all these benefits like food stamps etc. Giving women that mental manipulation to think they can do it without the man in the house. And once they win over the woman it’s game over. Side note. I am not saying in no way shape or form that woman is not strong. But they are easier to manipulate.

Well, but the bible is actually a collection of books. And many books have accounts that are historically accurate. So even if you don't believe in God and the supernatural stuff that happens in the bible, you can't equate it to Lord of the Rings. Especially the New Testament, that is written as historical documents. What is said there has to be considered historical. Because most of human history is written by eyewitnesses, without any proof and we treat it as accurate. The New Testament is eyewitnesses accounts and letters exchanged in the first century.

The name Lilith is mentioned in the bible only once.. .I can't remember exactly where tho.. maybe Isaiah.
She was never the wife of Adam. Eve was and is Adam first and only wife. Demonic activity and the very name demon did not appear until after the flood. For their origin came about after the flood, since that spirit is that of the Giants.
So the first woman on earth left him and the 2nd got him kicked out of Eden
Lilith is historically connected to Babylonian religion.
Came here to comment this. This guest on the other hand seemed to come up with his own story (ironically after calling out the “imagination” of others) of Adam started hooking up with Lilith (no explanation where did she conveniently pop up from ) after Eve stopped sleeping with him after their expulsion from Eden.

HE said literally nothing. "Well as if he were saying something, but not"
Have you read or watched "dmt the spirit molecule" Rick was responsible for that. A very cautious, humble measured and insightful man.
The mundus imaginalis...

Adam and Eve are a metaphor for the moment humans became conscious and aware of right and wrong. The moment we emerged from being an animal without consciousness.
Except animals do have consciousness
Lol we dnt come from animals bruh 😂
That doesn't make sense.
Animals do have a consciousness.
Its been proven.
Did you think about before you wrote it?

"as if it were real" ...wtf...does that even mean?
faith
"Are you a different animal in the same beast"
@ktw5141 so if I believe it...that makes it so...
No disrespect Joe but this conversation is confusing as hell and crazy

Can we acknowledge how impressive that is ? He'a also very warm and just a nice guy I find. I'm sorry so many people criticize him for the wrong reasons.
Nope, they usually don’t watch. They just assume he is a meat head mma junkie. The self proclaimed open minded people love to be closed minded.
The problem is he doesn’t talk with biblical experts
There is no problem. What is a biblical expert? Joe sits down and talks to all on their thoughts and portays his. He's honest as it gets. He has talked to so many great minds that its hard for someone to come in and talk bullshit to him and i respect the hell out of that@@aureum7479
And for him to hold so much in his head. He goes off the cuff conversing with so many guests. Most people can't understand as much information as this guy let alone put it back out years later with a whole other guest.
People like this. I thanked he was forced to go political. You cant say Epstein without saying Trump or Clinton. But people can't believe they both are nasty. They choose sides and say my guy is less nasty than your guy.
Take a shot every time he says “y’know”
at what?
I would have alcohol poisoning if I did that 🥵
Oh man…Had t noticed but once you do, it’s all you hear 🤣
Snake 🐍 “I didn’t say anything, I can’t even talk!” … as he spoke and pleaded his innocence 😂
נָחָשׁ nachash {naw-khawsh'}
Means snake or serpent but it can also mean People of the Snake as Nakash becomes Nagash and eventually Nagas.
Also translated to Shining One
This is a lie
Rick Strassman wrote “The Spirit Molecule” and pioneered DMT research in the 90’s that sparked the third wave of psychedelic research. Show some respect, folks🙏🏽
110 percent agree, there was agreat doc. Remember him from then
Then he should talk about DMT. Not a sacred religious text he has no background or authority to speak on.

I hope you’re right

The word for serpent also translates to shining one. Who do we know that is bad that is shiny or bright in the Bible?
5:50 wtf is this dude even saying
Sounds like he insinuating that the story of Adam and Eve is either a vision or an hallucination by early people. Recorded to be their interpretation on how civilization and humanity began.
@ right nice one I had no idea what this dude was saying lol
He doesn't know... maybe he was listing to Billy Carson as a professor. 😂
Or….. it’s a story. Imagine people in 1000s of years time finding lord of the rings and thinking it’s something that happened ignoring all of science.

Remember the snake was cursed by God to crawl the rest of its days. Who knows what form or how the snake looked in the beginning. Perhaps it was like the mythological dragons. It obviously wasnt unusual to talk to one. We will never know but its a fascinating story.
No...
Not really a curse for a snake…. 🐍
Or it's not ment to be literal
That's not really the best translation. He was a seraphim I believe.
@@S810IC Well, he embodied the snake.... which I'm kind of shocked wasn't brought up in the discussion.
I recommend having a orthodox rabbi on to help explain all the confusion on the torah and midrash...very fascinating
Lilith is not in the Bible because people chose to leave it out. The Bible is just a collection of old stories that passed down by word of mouth, it wasn't handed down to us by God.
I feel like you haven’t read the Bible
So you would believe the Bible if Lilith was included? That is your proof the Bible is illegitimate?
Exactly why I don’t believe in it. it’s a book. People have made religion.
It’s poorly edited. Different versions of the same story repeated, certain books left in, certain left out.
Some of it is useful advice, some just a real estate brochure
@@amandagiles1470 There are 400,000 manuscripts, copies, and papyri of the stories and books of The Bible that predate the 4th century and through textual comparison you can prove what stories are accurate and consistent with the ancient texts.... Do you believe that the Iliad is accurate? or Heroditus or Plutarch? because their writings are used as accurate sources for most ancient history and they have way less copies to corroborate the accuracy of those works.
The fact so many will be led a stray from this conversation is a tragedy

I’m pretty sure Elon Musk brought Lilith up, since he’s a Diablo fan.
Or he has read the epic of Gilgamesh
@ Sure, or that.
This guy has no idea put Wes on!
I really want to comment on this Lilith thing. She is mentioned in the Bible. Isaiah 34:14-15
14 The desert creatures will meet with hyenas, and one wild goat will call to another. There the night creaturef will settle and find her place of repose.
15 There the owl will make her nest; she will lay and hatch her eggs and gather her brood under her shadow. Even there the birds of prey will gather,
each with its mate.
There is so much more that plays into what is happening in our world.
1:01 I’m not sure if I agree, that “if there’s good, there’s evil- that should be fleshed out😮😮😮
It reminds me of some episodes from Supernatural. I guess a lot of the writers got their content from old lore and bible stories and references.
15 minutes and i cannot tell you a single thing this guy said
The only thing I took away from this 15 minutes is snakes use to be able to talk.
As if it was 15 minutes
Greg Laurie would be great to have on here. Joe maybe you should reach out to Greg to have on your show.
I think he needs an apologetic, historian or expert. Not a pastor.
Read "The perfect matrimony" by Samael Aun Weor
Strassman doesn't quite get the Lilith story right.
Invite Wes Huff!
Joe should watch Evangelion
Joe should get in the robot
Unfortunately while NGE is great Anno has been on record saying all the western religious iconography was used because "it looked cool"; it has no deeper meaning. Unless Joe likes mech fights and/or Asuka he wont necessarily get much out of it

It’s not if there wasn’t evil there wouldn’t be good. The only way to have evil is to first have a standard. No standard than no wrong.
Joe, invite Wes Huff if you really want to talk about the historical aspects of the Bible!
Wesley Huff needs on here. If you’re gonna talk about religious history, stop having these whack jobs. We want a true Christian and historian, an expert of biblical texts. Wes Huff!!!
