Man. This thing checks all the main boxes at this price point. I'm a fan. Reluctantly..
Wish the US would listen to its customers and make something useful like this.
who exactly is "the US" that should listen? The only ones producing relatively high volumes are Harley, Indian, and maybe Zero, but who else? The rest are either custom, low volume, or exclusively cruisers. The main players are the EU and Japan producers which China and India is really pissing off right now. Hopefully they will also come on their senses and produce accessible bikes with decent specs and stop with this crazy 140 HP+ for adventure bikes. Anything over 100 HP is enough for 99% of the people who actually do adventure riding, and most would be good enough with 70 HP.
Just goes to show you the US is a secondary motorcycle market.
i think it matters on the bikes displacement and regulations
Motorcycles are not primary commuters in the USA so less of them sold.
I use a chinese phone. I have dropped it, thrown it and abused it at work.... left on dash in the sun. Keep in my pocket in 40 deg temperatures. Its just as good as any phone I have ever used bar the cameras but for $200 owned new who the hell would buy a more expensive phone? 2yrs owned.
Now about the MT 450. 2yr warranty. Parallel engine used in 3 other bikes from CF Moto. KTM relationship. If your scared or unsure then stick with your other brands and pay more. These are exciting times. We have so many good choices in this adventure category now that everyone should be happy and having fun! Regardless of brand get out there have fun and stay safe everyone. Enjoy!
In the seventies the Japanese bikes did the same with established, expensive but obsolete products from Norton, BSA, etc... today Japan is considered the benchmark but looses it's freshness compared to hungry Chinese brands.
Look at the cfmoto SxS and atv's... I bought new 2019 Zforce SxS and since that year forward, the quality has gotten much better. I have almost 10k km's problem free and on original tires and drive belt still.. This bike appears to be legit..!!!
This is the best review of this bike I've seen. I'm super excited for this one.
Watching From Philippines with Love
I just bought Ktm 390 adventure….250km, brand new….check engine lights “on”, no more throttle response, can’t start in gear, expect neutral…..man Ktm lost me. First Ktm, last one….I will buy this bike without any hesitation…..i will swap it next year for sure….can’t wait to come in Canada. Brilliant design, and yes is like mini T7, that i had before my 390 adventure. I put my name on the list…with 5 years warranty, can’t beat that 👍
CFMoto produces engines for KTM.
@@PhillipPopwell but not the 390….made in india
Great show!
Love my 300nk
Hopefully they bring these to the USA
I used to live in Palawan and the PH for many years. My first reaction when I was told the launch of this motorcycle will be in El Nido was, hang on there are not really roads to test this adventure bike for speeds over 100 km for a substantial time. That was weird...until I have heard that in high ways this bike isnt the best over 120 km per hour.
Time will tell when the reviews of real owners will comment on their experiences both off and on road.
One can not expect not the perfect but neither the unicorn one at 6.5 k usd., so guys lower your expectations
Agreed, gotta get out on the good ol American super-slab!!
This bikes checks all the box's! curious how this stacks up with my crf300 Rally on the trails? On the road it sounds about perfect! That 40 Hp is a good sweet spot.
Kawasaki, where’s that Versys-X 400+…….?
They just increased that 399cc engines to 451cc, so Kawasaki can make a direct competitor. I suspect that they missed a sizeable market, since many believe that the Versus 300 is just a little too underpowered to be a serious ADV bike (one that will spend most of its time on the street).
@@jfess1911 which gives them space to bring out a 250 or 300 below it I guess. But apparently in the Philippines motorcycles need to have more then 400cc to be allowed on motorways, so that may have also influenced enlarging the Ninja and Z400 to 451cc.
Yep, i have been wondering that for 3 to 4 years already, my Versys x300 is good but i need a more relaxed cruising speed, their bigger engine is perfect for that but nope, they just thought they would stand alone for 10 years, since the CB500X is a very different bike, but now Cf Moto launched a nuke to the segment.
@@stephen_1987 They still make the 300 for the Versys-X300, so the smaller engine is still in production as far as I know.
I am over 60 and saw the auto industry do something similar with the subcompact growing into the next size category and needing a new model for the economy market..
Believe it or not, the original Honda Accord was about the size of a Fit. It just kept growing. The Civic replaced it, but it too grew out of the subcompact category after a while.
@@jfess1911 I have a Z400 (In Australia), which I got as a first bike. I was just thinking that Honda have the 125cc and 300 (286cc) below their '500', whereas Kawasaki (at least in this market) didn't put anything in below the Ninja/Z400 when it increased from 250 to 300 to 400.
My biggest concern with CFmoto is resale value, they look to be specified really well for the price. So either the Japanese bikes are overpriced or CFmoto have saved money somewhere. Suspension and Brakes possibly?
On/off effect can be problematic in city/normal use, hope they can fix with some updated map.
Apparently they had the same problem on the 800 mt and never fixed it
@@slakk5093 I thought I read they fixed it on the 800MT pretty sharpish via an over the air update? I could of course be mistaken.
Many have this issue, same with cb500x, I think it is related to ECO norms, it shuts down injection rapidly, can be fixed with remap.
@@jutjub22 would love to be able to tune this with an app like TuneECU on the older Triumphs and KTMs.
I wanna know is there an option for larger or additional fuel storage? That's not a Jerry can
Pretty cool bike
Nice looking bike
This, the Kove 450 Rally, or the new Himalayan? I don't like the idea of a mail-order bike without a scratch and sniff test, so no Kove for me. I've got multiple dealerships carrying CFMoto and Royal Enfield within reasonable range, so I can check both out. I think of Royal Enfield as being a more established brand, so I think I'd probably go with that. Still, I'm open-minded enough to consider any of the three. I hope to go to Utah this summer; maybe I can stop by GPX and see the Kove in person. Looking forward to seeing, and hopefully test riding, the CFMoto and Royal Enfield.
we all have the same pb x) the cf however offers a bit more especially if you plan on going off road on a regular basis, i love the himalayan look tho but i guess it's more of a commute bike.
That's exactly what we're curious about and hope to find out soon.
So did you guys get free flights and accommodation to review this bike?
Yes
There’s a YT video showing how to remove the front forks and the tank just to replace the spark plug.
Every new adv is like that 🤦🏽♂️
As an Indian I'll pick this over Himalayan 450
I would love to see this vs a Kove 450 Rally.
2 completely different bikes. This CF Moto is an adventure the other is a RALLY!!!!!
@@bullsharkdb potato tomato.
@@Buffington916 no wonder you asked such a ridiculous comparison...you know the price of the Kove 450 rally? Its a China bike little genius ...a rally RALLY
@bullsharkdb they're both China bikes big genius. And yes, comparing two bikes with the same displacement, similar size, and similar purpose is just absolutely ridiculous.🙄
Kove costs two times more and is very purpose build machine.
Just because they have similar displacement doesn't mean it's same class or whatever. It's even different engine configuration single Vs twin. Completely different suspension, very different weight.
450mt is typical adv bike, Kove is more wild enduro with big fuel tanks and fairing. Completely different animal.
So while ofc u could compare them, it wouldn't be very meaningful as which is better is more matter of what u need and expect from bike.
Imo for 99% cfmoto will be better, especially since it's twin.
Kove is for guys who want slightly more road friendly enduro bike with big range, simple as that.
8:53 foot down on pavement . nice
We had to use a lot of CFMoto's stock footage for this one. "foot down" was never necessary.
So…what was the weight?
Website says 390lbs. Not sure if that's wet or dry
They have to fix that fueling problem , that is a real issue.
What fueling problem?
I think it's not fuel economical for a 450 cc.
@@charliequach6399 what?
@@Matthew-wn8oq The only fuel issue I'm aware of is high fuel consumption.
@charliequach6399 no " fueling " problem means it has a mapping issue with inconsistent throttle.
Looks top heavy and underpowered just like all the other ones. Nice attention to detail but didn't really see this in the rough stuff either so my first thought is over heating issues.
It is heavy overall. It weights 192kg wet. 450cv. Just compare it with way more advanced Tuareg, 660cc, 204kg wet.
Chinese "motorcycles" are heavy. It requires skill and technology to make light motorcycle.
What most ladies here do not get.
@@podunkman2709the 660 is twice the price 🤪
The Tuareg 660 is nearly twice the price, too!
@@podunkman2709 Ladies. Good one. What you don't get is that most of the components on a motorcycle weight the same whether it's a 660 or a 450. The brakes weight the same; the wheels weight the same, the gas tank weighs the same, the seat weighs the same, the frame weighs the same, the tires weight the same, blah blah blah. The only difference is the size of the block. And guess what, a 200 cc larger block would weigh about 12 kg more. In other words, no f-ing difference, madame.
Every american in the comments whining about it being it chinese.
Meanwhile, everything made in USA proved to be utter sh!t, from Harley to Boeing planes. 😂😂
Im not sure about this bike. It is about 12kg lighter than the teneree and has the power of a ktm 390. Although it might not be the bike Im looking for it is still quite the bargain.
12 kg is a lot. Mellow power is also nice off road.
"You know"
Yamaha Tenere 7 knockoff with a smaller parallel twin.
Womp womp
These Communist machines are looking pretty good !
its a fascist dictatorship. wise up. how the f could you have Capitalist Apple Corp there??
Mr Trump will kill this bike after he will win election , he promised 60% custom fee for all Chinese products 😢
Wouldn't ever buy a chinese made vehicle.
I mean your putting your life in their hands.
No thanks.
Good holiday paid “review “ by Aussies😂
Stop pushing Chinese bikes
Why not?
@@angshumansarmah6626intellectual property theft, for starters……
Nice phone/computer ya got there.
you don't have to push them, they have engines.
@@danieldegallier302 just because your doing something you don't like does not mean you want to keep doing it. like if the air is polluted they can't choose to stop breathing
HMMM could it be a great start motorcycle that becomes a lemon later...... 6.5 i may change to a Versy 300 as a choice just because of history....just a thought
