H o w d y from Dallas Texas, lots of pictures I've never seen before! Like the stage picture where Revere is using just an organ and no car. I saw him in the bicentennial year 1976 but I don't remember if he was using the Edsel or not at that time. I assume his band was Louie and the rockets having patched over to the Raiders. They did Orleans Still the One and Edgar Winters version of the Ray Charles song I've got news for you. It was Six Flags Over Texas. Saw them again in November of 1979 at the Dallas Playboy club. I think that was the remnants of Louie and the rockets and Paul Revere's Raiders. By that time he was definitely using the Edsel on stage. In the audience he introduced Peaches and Herb. They did Shel Silverstein Freakin At The Freaker's Ball and The Coasters Along Came Jones. A second before the curtains opened up we could hear those boots start marching softly then louder like they were going into battle or something. Do you know what year your picture is from? I know over the years he use the Edsel, the Mustang, and the Metro. Did you post a picture of a GTO Grill around the o r g a n? You got good stuff my man. Please keep posting as I am getting a big kick out of what I see and hear

By any chance will you post like bluegrass? Like long hair, like Charleston, like bluegrass. The trilogy. I have never heard it and have seen it sell on eBay for over $100, got out bid. I think the flip side was leather necking. I believe it was 1962 when Revere was drafted and kept the band on the road as Paul Revere's Raiders with Leon Russell at the helm. Have read online that no Raiders or even Revere was on the recording. But that it was guitarist Jerry Cole from shindig and other session musicians. Revere was evidently a smart businessman or at least that's what his reputation was. He would stand in an autograph line for 30 to 40 minutes after a show just to sell t-shirts and whatever current CD he had out.

I only have the Like Long Hair album and single, and Beatnick Sticks. Have never found the other Gardena singles. Sure would like to have them. I think most of the first album is on youtube, though, some great stuff on there, Road Runner, Tall Cool One, All Night Long. Hard to beat the early Raiders for pure rock and roll energy.
