How much do YOU think Budew is gonna change the meta??
As my favourite pokemon line
Yes
Seismitoad Winter flashbacks intensify
Well, I know a lot of people will be annoyed by it, but I'm waiting to hear the people most concerned with the game's skill level rule whether it makes the game more skillful... or less skillful.
What worried me was when I heard someone say most people currently prefer to go SECOND. Now, I remember going first being the preferred option during the Sword and Shield era, and since Scarlet and Violet has the same turn 1 rules (No Supporter card, no attack), I assumed the same applied here. I had forgotten that Sword and Shield era decks mostly started attacking on turn 1 and largely had two-prize evolving basics, and in the Scarlet and Violet era decks like Raging Bolt will want to go first to take an early prize, while evolution decks will want to shove a single prize card in the active and set up as much as possible on their first turn, thus valuing playing that early Arven over not sacrificing a Charmander.
When I thought going first was favored, I was confident Budew would be a positive force, giving the player going second a better chance to claw their way into the game with careful play, but now that I hear people already wanted to go second, I'm worried that Budew could actually cause a snowball effect where players going second just set up better than their opponents and steamrolling them.
I'm not playing standard at the moment, but I read a lot of articles. Perhaps I would have an even better understanding of the gameplay if I watched more of the livestreams.
If you want to overcook the ditto idea, you might as well add lively stadium for +30 hp or neutralization zone to force them to find stadiums
Oh I didn't think about throwing in a stadium too 🧠 and being locked out of lost vacuum they really do need to find specifically their own stadium
Thinking of ditto and budew in the united wings deck. Throw in neutralization zone. Now you've got item lock, immunity to exs, and a good attack to build up to, all while using a single dark energy because of murkrow.
@@christopherbuckett8542That's a cool concept. I was also thinking that a single rotom fan gets you both the ditto and the two bouffalants, but you still lack a fast way to discard the attackers. Maybe a united wings shell can do it pretty effectively
I really really love the Ditto-Bouffalant-Idea!
So much flexibility since you can include basically anything with that ditto - It was actually the very first thing I thought of when Budew got announced
while we others cook decks, you have an entire barbeque party
It's a vegetarian banquet and all I'm serving is extra spicy Budew
One idea I haven't seen explored yet is to attempt to knock out your own Budew after attacking- then promoting something like Iron Thorns or Klefki- so they enter their turn with no abilities on basics/rule box, and no items. This could be done with Brute Bonnet's poisoning ability and the poison boosting stadium on turn 1 I think- but it would be very hard to pull off.
Oh that's such a sick concept 👀 you could only get away with it once or twice a game obviously, but it could be so disruptive!
@@timdanklin You could apply this same thing to Cleffa if it was slotted into something like... Klawf- that already uses Bonnet... hmmm.
Yo, use Badoo to item lock for a few turns and then here is a banger combination. Use Roton from surging sparks to discard every last item and tool in their hand. Bam instantly win the game.
I saw that mentioned before too, can't believe I missed it - I need to get cooking... 👨🍳🔥
works well with ditto too
Oh, and don’t forget about genesect from shrouded fable just for the ability ace jammer jam whatever just need to attach a tool and your opponent can’t play ace spec
your videos are great. as soon as you got to ditto i was like "oh man then you can damage mod it" and then i was like "oh man then you can poison it" then i was like "oh man gravity gemstone" and you just kept reading my mind.
Glad you enjoyed!!!! I guess great minds think alike 🧠🧠
Budew + Frosslass + Munki is unironically good, it has hard time with Raging bolt and a dragapult, but it has good matchup to almost everything else.
Archaludon unevolved breaks it - just dealt with it
Yeah I'm definitely a big fan of that deck, especially with gravity stone as well - lots of potential 🔥
good against only some decks
I’m just getting into the tcg and this makes no sense to me but it was fun to watch 😭😭😭
I'm really glad that you enjoyed regardless!!! I generally put a lot of effort into making my videos accessible regardless of your TCG experience, but unfortunately it was pretty difficult to achieve for something like this
Same. I'm getting back to ptcg and This card make me regret that desicion
You could add dusknoir to make video hit even harder and it also synergises well with kingambit as you use rare candy
I also managed to donk a dragapult player with this
Dusknoir does make everything better 👀 That's insane that you managed the donk, I love it!
The Ditto idea is the best in this video. The best part is you can play the Bouffalant that Lost zones energy and switch to Energy removal when you need to. I am wondering if there is some way to loop a tanky budew with munkidori and set up a checkmate board like Banette lists Do
Yeah like 2-2 bouffant and you can even use ditto to copy the attack with say DTE and counter gain if you wanna break the item lock for some energy removal 👨🍳
We got boy and boy with a mustache before gta6
with the ditto-bouff you can also slap rotom that allows you to discard all your opp item or something like that, and you can also put all the shenanigans because with ditto sky's the limit XD
Ooo I love that! Item lock them with a tanky guy for 10 turns, then just delete all the items they never got a chance to use!
And a bouffalant that throws they're energies into the lost zone!!!!
I feel hydrapple may be good because they have draw support in ogerpon and they can use bug catching set to find any bedewfor themselves and hydrapple usually runs 2 dipplins so item lock doesn't affect you putting a hydrapple down
Budew would 100% slot right into a Hydrapple ex deck!!
I love the poison ditto with a mix of the Bouffalant You can DOT and Make sure your Pokémon don't get knock out as easily
Yeah that was my biggest problem with poisoning a regular Budew, it'll be KOd in just a couple turns, but Ditto can definitely tank for a bit
what if there was a second budew and it was called butwo
Mega Butwo X 👽
How about Relicanth's Memory Dive + Poison Point Roserade? If they attack Roserade they get poisoned, I don't think I need to say which Pokémon it combines with. And it's attack deals 70 dmg and prevents opponent from retreating so you can alternate between item lock and trapping.
This would be sick, but I'm pretty sure you can't actually evolve baby Pokemon - Since Roselia is a basic (even though it's not how it works in the games)
@@timdanklin Lmao, I forgot that Budew was a baby Pokémon to begin with.
Just added 2 budew + 1 ditto to my great tusk mill list with 1 of locking mawile. the mawile is crazy in that deck to begin with and the budew and ditto with a dte is crazy intimidating in the back when you need to buy time
And ditto is basically just another great tusk! Since you'll pretty much always have one in the discard - I might need to revisit some mill decks... 👨🍳
Budew/Frosslass with Munkidori has been my fave so far. Worst matchups by far are those that play mons without abilities, i.e ancient box or dragapult, but it wrecks everything else
The deck is so much fun! I think a gravity stone can absolutely help give you an edge in those particular matchups but they still aren't exactly what you wanna be hitting
Do you have the updated ditto decklist?
we want the ditto list
You'll see it when I win EUIC... 😇
@@timdanklin win it for the fans
I always love Pokémon that are really cute but it’s powerful in a way lol it’s always really fun to watch
That's why Snom is the goat 🐐
do u have a discord or some place to discuss this sorta stuff?
No but that's a really good idea - I should definitely get on it!!
@@timdanklin yoo :D would be dope. Only really found Aus tcg facebook pages which are kinda ehh for trying to discuss things
I'm scared to know what the deck that you cut out can do...
I'm not sure if the world is ready for it...
@timdanklin I'm glad I'm not going to EUIC now to avoid the chance I'll play you with that deck 😂
i dont understand, instead of bulking the deck with 10 tech pokemons and locking the own bank for those skills, would it not be easier to play Bennett ex instead and push the power from there?
A couple of reasons, but the big one is that you can consistently lock them from turn 1 while going second which you can't always do with Banette, but you could absolutely try out a standard Banette deck and just include 1 or 2 budew
I tried skeledirge ex budew & klefki as attackers, it just seemed to get destroyed by control, absolutely rolled by any fast decks or budew decks and takes too long to set up and too many requirements.
The ditto one on the other hand copying the attack and possibly doing more hp seems on a better track to making budew even better.
Yeah getting those stage 2s up can be a little clunky sometimes - Ditto is for sure easier to get going and also incredibly strong/flexible
The mad man has cooked once again
I’ve started playing Pokémon as Yugioh player because I got tired of how prevalent floodgate effects are in Yugioh. Clearly I picked a bad time to get into Pokémon.
It's always a good time to get into Pokemon!!! Trust me I don't think this is as bad as: Judge + Path to the Peak last year...
You definitely cooked with this one. Somehow I forgot about Ditto, it goes so hard with Bouffalant!
Never forget about POGO Ditto! I'm gonna miss that little fella 😭
Bro you cooked the Budew so hard it’s just a pile of ash now
I like bouffalant and gravity stone with some version of klawf- Wyatt
We'll have to get cooking then! 👀👨🍳
That’s a pretty cool stash
😎😎😎
Hey are you going to release busted option later?
We'll see 👀
@timdanklin this will be fire I just feel this spice
Great Video!! I love and hat budew, but Im excited for whats possible with it :D
Either way it's 100% gonna shake things up - but you're right so many possibilities 👀
Man this guy has a fantastic moustache!
And I would also like to buy him a drink at the next event!
These are 2 of my absolute favourite things to hear 😍😍
Double Budew Terapagos looping goes so hard
👀👀👨🍳
@@timdanklin I mean, I won a free Terapagos off a Purple-c-liffe stream. And the double budew is amazing. Maybe fate is telling me how to rock my first Championship Event (EUIC) in style!
Thankfully, I’ve got my ways around this new Item Lock Format
Yeah you really gotta build your deck to be able to work even without items!
TIM DANKLIN🗣️🗣️🗣️ Drop another broken strategy, and my life IS YOURS 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
I guess your life will be mine soon... 👨🍳👨🍳
@@timdanklin currently building and I may have over-cooked it…(experimenting with emergency jelly)
I run budew in a froslass/bannette ex item lock deck
Froslass/Munkidori works really well with Budew, particularly using the gravity stone idea!
The sir raging bolt goes hard...
Honestly all of the ancient and future ones are incredible!! I'm not usually into blinging my deck but they are tempting me 👀
@timdanklin do it!!! And what decks you playing? Terapgoes?
Honestly I think budew is balanced for what it is, he's just so tiny little itsy baby, he's got nothing on my big metal tower
Your grass resistance won't save you from my +30 damage!!!! (I now deal 10 instead of 0 😎)
Budew balanced is crazy thing to say
Funnily enough, I actually just went up against a Ditto-Bouffalant-Froslass deck on Pokemon TCG Live with my Loyal 3 Deck and managed to out-Munkidori it and win! XD
Oh that's sick that someone's playing it on ladder! Loyal 3 would be a rough one if you've got Pecharunt ex to help attack every turn
@@timdanklin I do, in fact run Pecharunt ex to help counter Boss’ Orders and ready my Okidogi exs in one turn. Also helps that I run Beach Court for easy retreats.
Going so hard with a combo that you stop yourself from opening pandora's box is insane
Gotta stop myself before I ruin an International for everyone.....
I opened up TCG live and the first thing i saw was that i got this exact card as a reward 😭
Definitely a sign to play it... 👨🍳
bro is the cooker holy shi (might just have to play king gambit to euic)
The kingambit deck is definitely the one I'm most excited to really try and cook! I've been trying to make Strike Down work for ages!
awesome vid tim
Thanks mate!!!
Tim i will buy you a drink at brisbane regionals if i can find out what this hidden tech is after euic
🤝🍻
this tech is all I will be thinking about before euic
You might be able to cook up a ditto control.
Oh 100%!!! There are already so many sick tools for it, and this one might just push it over the line 👀
Ditto control definitely a must before rotation!!!
New vid drop my day is made!
World record for shortest time between TimDanklin videos 🤯🤯
i see a cool and funny video , i press like 👍
This is goat behaviour for sure 🐐🐐
Now you have to play it at a tournament😂
Yeah, at EUIC.... 😃
release the whole video!
It's tempting but I also wanna win EUIC...
@@timdanklin Merida regional (in mexico) is before that and you could help me win it, imagine the headlines
Bro when you said you were taking out a deck idea for euic was that a joke or did you actually cut something from the video that you didn’t talk about
Guess we'll see at EUIC..... 🤫
Give me a couple days Imma figure out that tech you tryna hide👁️👄👁️ I have no life
Would be sick if you did, or maybe even another different completely broken tech, there is so much potential with a card like this! 🔥
Frosslas budew goes brrrrrr
Throw in a Munki and a Gravity Stone 👨🍳👨🍳
olz cook a deck with this
👨🍳👨🍳👨🍳
i love budew. period.
I'm so glad this little fella exists now!!
Badwe broke the meta
to increase budews hp to 130 you could attach a luxurious cape to it, its now worth 2 prize cards, but with 4x the hp, i think its worth it.
The prize cards will only ever matter if they can actually KO it 🧠🧠🧠
It could be really good in the right matchup, but in others, you'd just be making Budew a 2-prizer, because 130-HP isn't stopping most meta Pokémon. Even Greninja and Iron Hands (2 of the 3 thresholds he mentioned) probably aren't attacking under item lock, unless they've been setup using Palkia VStar, Baxcalibur, Lugia, or some other Pokémon that could just KO Budew itself, so Crammorant seems like the main benefit. But that just seems like a bad matchup for Budew anyway, because they can still Comfey at least once and play supporters.
It's probably a worthwhile option in a stall deck depending on the meta, but I feel like it's too much of a liability most of the time.
Please share your cooked deck too. thanks
you might end up helping my no trainer deck be meta relevant
Sounds like a funny challenge to play! 👀👀
@@timdanklin I can show you the deck list if you want (also kinda want more opinions on it to try and make it better)
Sure, I'd love to see it!

I'd say it's a pretty strong deck due to it's lack of trainer cards and how it doesn't care about its hand too much after the first 2 turns, though I haven't really gotten to test it because I'm pretty poor in ptcgo, only against the AIs (and you know how bad those things are).

Good video by the way, I think I'm going to watch what you've done before ;)
PS : Sorry if my english is bad I'm not very familiar with some terms, I'm french ^^'
Your English is fine!!! Really glad you enjoyed the video and hope you enjoy the others too!!! It's sick that you gave building the list a go - I think you might need to thicken up some of the Pokemon lines just to make sure you aren't losing to prizing key pieces - but I think crushing hammer is a really great inclusion to something like this 👨🍳
This requires too many things to work and most of the time the opponent would have already been able to play their key item cards before you get it going. Also obviously gets hosed by Bosses Orders.
If you're item locking them from turn 1 going second they definitely won't have time to use all their key items!
@@timdanklin But that's not consistent enough. You need to have Budew on turn 1, you need to stack up resistances and HP to make it live, your opponent needs to not have an early Bosses Orders to completely hose you, and this strategy needs to impede your opponent enough to make it relevant at all.
This is a bad version of Banette EX, and that deck wasn't good enough either.
15$ to 45$ for the C card

lol you can’t even get into the competitive side cause everyone is buying up the cards. So it’s affecting both sides man
Is it seriously that bad? That's awful to hear!!! Can you at least get something like one of the Charizard League Battle Decks? They're a great start for getting into the game!
