To begin with: "Wenn der Freude Tränen fliessen" is a reference aria for any serious tenor student. It is not only difficult in terms of hitting the melody but its real difficulty lies in the ability to interpret the text and in expressing the sentiment of the aria. I think Gösta Winbergh does an excellent job.
Always thought this was just part of the regular opera, took me so long to find this piece because apparently it gets cut from performances a lot. That's so lame because it's great and I love it!!!
