Welcome back to another 5 in 50. This episode we talk about FPL EVolution Home and dive into their at home charging program.
Austen: What is going on everyone, you’re watching 5 in 50 where we give you 5 trending automotive topics in less than 50 seconds. My name is Austen
Billy: And I’m Billy Ray Cessna!
Austen: And today, we are talking about electric vehicle charging in South Florida, specifically FPL EVolution - Let's get to it!
Billy: FPL now offers Level 2 in-home charging, dubbing it “FPL EVolution Home”. This is a new residential charging program that will handle the installation, permitting, and maintenance of their Level 2 charger, without any upfront cost for equipment or installation.
Austen: Eligible residential customers must own or lease an all-electric vehicle, own and live in a single-family home or townhome with an attached garage, have Wi-Fi access, and a home electrical survey may be required before installation. Installation takes approximately 4-6 weeks after program enrollment.
Billy: EVolution Home gives two different subscription packages. The full installation package includes unlimited weeknights and weekend off-peak charging and the Level 2 Charger for $38 per month. The equipment-only package includes the same charging, but utilizes your pre-existing and permitted Level 2 charger for $31 per month. Both packages require a 10-year subscription.
Austen: The chargers are powered by 100% renewable energy, both ENERGY STAR® certified and UL Listed, have the standard J1772 connector, and utilize the FPL EVolution mobile APP.
Billy: The FPL EVolution app has been enhanced to include features for residential charging. The app will display charging status, historic charging session data, and allow customers to program their equipment to charge during off-peak hours. It will also show the entire network of fast chargers within Florida.
Austen: That’s all for today. Leave your comments and suggestions down below. Don’t forget to smash that like button and follow us for more. Now go make it a great day!

Thanks for the information. I have 2 ev's, I know I can not charge them at the same time but can I alternate them. Does it matter for the fpl which car I am charging?
