I probably heard about the auction in a martial art magazine after it had happened. Sadly we didn’t live in the internet age then. I was saving up in 93 for my first trip to Hong Kong which happened the year after. Managed to get up to the Golden Harvest studios. Unfortunately due to lack of information didn’t get to see anything like Tai Tam Bay. Did go to Bruce’s old house on one of my trips to HK but not sure which one. Would love a real Bruce Lee item or signature but the prices these days are simple crazy. Love that the catalogue mentioning fax 📠 machines. Remember those?
That’s nice you took a trip to HK and seen his house. Yes, I sure do remember fax machines. I was a teenager in the early 90’s so I remember them very well!

Hi Josh, I still remember getting this catalog and admiring all the original items, but sad because at that time I could not afford any of them. Like you said some items sold for bargain prices compared to now, but some did sell for a very high price. I think Yuri Nakamura got some of these items. Perhaps you could do a follow up with prices realized on some items?
Can’t say I’m really looking forward to the next biopic. It will be another saint Bruce portrayal. Think Ang Lee is a great director. Casting his son is pure nepotism but then again I guess that’s how Bruce got his start. If they told the real truth the movie could be Oscar worthy but we’ll probably get another ‘Dragon’ style film. Fun fact I think I once saw Ong Soo Han coming out of McDonald’s in Hong Kong. Should have got a picture with me.
I’m not counting on an accurate biopic but who knows! His son doesn’t really resemble Bruce. I think it’s a family pride thing more than finding a good lookalike Bruce!
@@30plusfitnesstv Since Shannon Lee is involved it'll def be a sanitized version. But I'm still curious to see how it'll turn out. And more importantly, it's my hope that it brings in more fans to Bruce Lee. I think his fandom may slowly die out if it isn't kept alive in movies or shows for younger generations.
@@ta5777 sadly kids are more interested in video games and marvel movies these days.I'm doing my bit my young girls know who Bruce is already. Hopefully I can get them into martial arts in a couple of years
I have one of these catalogue books in mint condition i got back in the day. It's one of my favourite books. Its got some brilliant stuff in it which just make reget no being able to buy ant of them. Just think someone has got them things, spead all over the world

I've contacted goldin auctions and they said they would need to go through a 3rd party for authentication which I don't understand why? They were sold in Beverly hills by Superior galleries I have the photo of my dad purchasing them standing next to Linda Lee, photo dated 8-7-97 and Linda Lee also signed our gallery book the one you have in the video
@Ericw121 because the buyer from the auction can easily get a pair of boxing gloves like the originals and use the original certificate and keep the real ones..

Hopefully Bruce Lee's popularity goes up even more with Ang Lee's upcoming biopic starring his son Mason Lee.

@@jkdart1980 same markings on the gloves, holes, scratches etc. that would be extremely hard to replicate. Lot #118
