The big glass building behind you with no windows anymore went thru a huge battle with the insurance company and it recently went up for sale, at the end, the big building behind the 1 10 bridge was isle of capri casino , it was open until rita before it closed wnd never opened until they got it back running again 3 years afterward as horseshoe casino, it was devestating, i live 1 hr north of lake charles and i evacuated but my parents stayed bafk and i remember seeing the new the next day and i actually started crying. I remember i teacked the storm since it was a wave in the douth Atlantic and thinking about we could get hit by a hurricane was terrifying for me.

Another great video icyclone!, Laura was an absolute beast and being a nocturnal event must of made it even more sketchy. Have to say though I do always like see a good power flash!

My grandparents and other family live in Louisiana and ironically my granddad and his wife live in DeRidder (quite a few miles north of lake charles) and even from there West Park in DeRidder was destroyed. It was crazy.

Yeah you’re right. That’s that high tower of glass I remember. Great storm very dangerous but heart racing 😎🎥👍🏽 love all your work and watch your great content always. I will join in the fun soon as I be moving to the Philippines later this year and starting a family and new life to build and simple life in the mountains. Always welcome to stay anytime you’re chasing in the Philippines. We have a New Strong concrete home with great views of mountains and hills of palm trees and banana trees, so you’re always welcome.. 👍🏽

I remember in 2004 we had 4 hurricanes impact central Florida within months.

I wonder how anyone can get home insurance in these areas to protect against such destructive acts of nature.

No, and I'm glad I didn't. The storm weakened dramatically as it approached the island and barely nicked it.
