Not gonna mention getting netherite armour is 10x harder in 1.20 while I almost never had it before.

They're trying to prevent Minecraft from becoming any other cash grab so they update slowly to keep up hype. So they won't have to make a "battle pass" and a battle royale game mode to make any money.

Overthinking is what ruined the experience on newer versions. The game was born as a side project and worked just fine with things added judt for fun

Mojang does more (and much better) work with april fools updates than regular ones
Irl Sapphire, Ruby, and Emerald are all just Corundum given their names based on color. So it would make perfect sense for a Ruby to just be a red Emerald in the game .
