  • I'll demonstrate how to install the wind panels for your G5 Gazebo from Gazelle Tents. If you like the T4 Hub Tent or Hex tent, you'll love this!

    Yeah that tape helps waterproof those seems. Pretty common in tents and rainflys.

      You could see daylight through where the needle and thread went through the material. I used seam sealer and that stopped the leaking completely. Very 😀 with it now.

      @@varsityoverlandWhen packed, does the G5 fit into the bed of the zr2 (front to back)? Or does it have to be put in on a big angle? It looks like theres 1" difference between the advertised length of the box and G5

      @taylor3682 the G5 gazebo fits straight front to back. Its snug but its exactly perfect. The tent on the other hand definitely needs to be angled

    Saw on another video, where the grommets were staked on the inside. Seemed easier.

    My Gazelle G5 leaks like crazy. Brand new… all along the top line where the roof meets the walls. They have weather proof tape everywhere else but none on those seams. I can see daylight through the needle holes. The manufacturer told me to seal it myself. Shawn at Ardisam, the manufacturer of Gizelle wasn’t bothered. Made all sorts of excuses for the leaking. I’m not talking a few drops, it’s leaking A LOT. NOT 😀. I have the T4 Hub overland tent as well and that’s awesome. The gazebo is crap

      Did you season the tent soak it down through all the stitch holes before using it on a trip ? Just sayin I had this with an ARB swag ,after soaking it was 100% water tight !

      I had to seal those seams on my G5. I was bummed they weren’t taped. I have the T4 & T4+ and love them both.

    If the taping is over the stitching, I think it may be used to protect the stitching from getting snagged or pulled. And, it could help with water proofing. It would be a good question for Gazelle. Thanks for the videos on the G5 as I am considering buying one to use with our 25' Winnebago Via (Sprinter chassis) and I'm looking at the best options considering size, weight, etc.

    Can the zippered door accommodate a wind panel (i.e., is it made for one)? None of the videos or ads I've seen for Gazelle Gazebos mention attaching a panel to the door side.
    Also, do you know if there are panels available that have a smaller roll-up window as an option? I know Clam has that option but only for certain colors in specific packages.
    Thoughts on Clam vs Gazelle? The 4-sided Clam Traveler appeals to me because it packs down smaller and I have limited room in my vehicle. I'd like something no longer than 46" to fit the width of my vehicle storage bay.

      I am considering a Clam Traveler, but I also want to be able to cover four sides.

      Yes you can attach a wind panel to the door but it would be attached from the outside and then you’d have to figure a way to get in to the gazebo

    Can you pack it up with wind panels installed? Own and love the T4, have a good EZ Up canopy but the G5 intrigues. Seems we always face wind, enough to make canopy a pain. T4 sheds wind when staked, hoping to use G5 in moderate wind, stake it and even leave it up at night or while we’re out - something I’ve learned the hard way not to do with instant up canopies.

      I agree and yes i fit my wind panels inside the bag when everything is packed away👍

      I pack mine up with the panels still hanging on it. Past about 20 miles per hour wind it gets a little sketchy. If it's coming right at the door side it gets pretty wild.

      We take our panels off and fold them up. I wouldn’t leave the panels attached. It takes no time at all to
      Remove them

    • @randomname6710
      @randomname6710 4 місяці тому

      @@Tayloranne53 Why wouldn't you leave them attached? It still fits in the bag just fine? Attaching 20 little bungy cords def takes more time than none at all.

      @@randomname6710 don’t always have the panels on and the Velcro will stick to the mesh if they come loose. It’s easier for us because we are full time campers for 6 months of the year. The tent and gazebo are up and down on the same day as we move sites. Taking them off is less wear and tear. It’s just what we do.

    I had gotten all six panels...the panel front door didn't have an opening to use to go in and out. I had gotten a strong zipper and the panel cut and zipper sew in. The zipper can be opened from inside and out. Zipper from Amazon Gazelle won't sell zipper.
    By the way Gazelle it's my idea so you better send me some $$$

    Is there any point in getting a T4 if you can just use a G5 and be able to use it as both a gazebo or tent with the wind panels? Just wondering if the G5 is good enough for both duties or the T4 has other benefits.

    • @varsityoverland
      @varsityoverland  7 місяців тому +1

      The G5 is taller than the T4 so that may be a factor depending on how tall you are. The G5 has a floor footprint option but it doesn't actually "attach" to the rest of the gazebo. Id use it like that for one night of sleeping but probably not for extended stays because critters could still slip into the gazebo between the floor footprint and walls.
