When I first saw Gene on the telly, I thought he looks native american, on account he looks like that actor on Daniel Boone series, Mingo, played Daniel's Cherokee friend, was his name? Real life name was Ed Ames? Loved hearing Gene speak ever so fluently his native Serbo-Croatian language, even though I didn't understand a word of it! 😝👍

The set looked a little different from the Kinescopes. Gene’s podium seemed beefed up more that it had been. They did an audience/phone home round where the two players could win money. Of course the theme had changed by that time. I enjoyed watching it & didn’t even have to pay, they were letting folks in for free.

Don't know why everyone is hating on Brett, but she was/is the bright spot in my horribly messed up day. I do love Fannie Flagg as well. My favorite contestants are Ron Valenti and Evie Phineus 💕
So dull without Brett. Suddenly its just your average nice little game show. When all the "main characters" are in place it becomes so much more. I know people either love her or hate her, and that's exactly the point of Brett. She was necessary to the dynamic of the show.
This is my favorite episode of all time. It's so much more peaceful when you don't have that annoying gravel truck voice constantly talking and singing and insulting people. She never took a day off again because she was afraid she'd be permanently replaced. When everyone started to enjoy not having her woodpecker voice pecking away at their eardrum, she'd be history.
