Just ordered this for my hubby as it was at the price you mentioned from Argos. He loves anything orange so can see him liking this one and he will no doubt swap the strap out for the one of the many I have bought him in the past. First time viewer so thank you very much for the honest review x x
Hey Adrian, great savings you were able to get on this one! I’m digging the pops of orange on it and I like the small sub dial off to the side for the 24 hr indication. Finishing looks good but sorry to hear the strap sucks lol. Mineral crystal is a bummer too but not a deal breaker! Cool review, enjoy the piece! 😎🍻👍
Hey Dave. Yes this one is great value at the moment I'm still torn with Citizen as a brand though I really want to love them but for some reason as good as they are they just leave me kinda empty if that makes any sense 😆 Thanks for watching man. 👍🍻😊
I really do like citizen, I think too many people overlook them but they are great imo. Yeah not perfect by any means but eco-drive is awesome and their lume is great too. Shame this one doesn't have any on the dial though. Nice work with the review mate.
Yeah Citizen is a brand I struggle with. I love the eco-drive technology they are the Kings of that but usually there's just something that I can't connect with in the same way as Seiko or Tissot or Casio etc I'll keep getting them in though after all it's not just about what I like 😁
@@somewhereintimewatchreviews great to see, and good attitude to have. I'm hoping to get more on the channel in the new year. Have a great rest of your day mate
The price has gone way up just like everything else. I put a silicone band on it for comfort. Definitely a good looking watch. Needs to be stored in light so the eco-drive doesn't die.
Thank you for the great review. If I were to replace the watch strap the correct size between the lugs would be 22mm is that correct.. Thank you in advance
I bought the blank version. All is awesome, but the strap! Super uncomfortable. Replaced with a nice black silicone strap...better looking and very comfortable to wear.
These have caught my eye a few times, love the old school look with modern internals etc. Definitely worth a closer look at that bargain price me thinks 👌😎
Good evening mate. Nice review of this Citizen Chronograph watch. I also have a love hate with my Citizen watches, I have bought a number of diver and flight variations all with the same hard to read date windows. I have to use a torch to set them! The Eco Drive solar face on my kermit diver does affect the amount of allocated space to the date window however I think it is just as tough to read on my automatic diver also. Bigger print maybe? Straps on Citizens do seem to lack supple strap thickness. This is a well priced example from Citizen.
Thanks mate. Yeah, my ongoing quest to find a Citizen that I want to keep continues, haha. This wasn't "the one," & I really want to love them. You're spot on about their straps as well, although that's an easy fix, of course, I have got my eye on a couple of the latest releases from Citizen so I'm sure that they'll make an appearance on the channel before the year is out. Thanks for watching.
Hahaha there's always one....🤣🤣 For the Argos price they are a good pickup I suspect they won't be around long at that price though. Thanks for watching. 👍
Yeah the overall look is pretty cool but the date is way too deep it seems to be a thing with eco-drive watches probably because of the extra solar panels I would prefer it if they had no date at all. 😁
To be fair, that date window is the only thing that kinda let's this one down, so a cyclops crystal if you can find one would be a good upgrade, the strap is a simple swap. Thanks for watching.
Hi, today I bought this watch but the choronograph doesn't work, it takes a time to work because of light charge or it has a problem? Please let me know about it. Thanks very much
I would suggest letting it charge for at least 24 hours, if it has been inside a box for several months it could just need a charge up. & then try it again if it still doesn't work then it will probably need to be returned to wherever you bought it from.
I so, so want to like Citizen watches enough to buy one, since they're often great value. Great Japaneze quality and a great horologic history. The Eco-Drive movement is a magnificent feature. Still they rarely does it for me, for some odd bloody reason. This one was a slight too big on my broom-stick wrist anyway. However, I really like the dial and especially the orange details here. I'll keep looking out for some Citizen model that once will suit me lol. Great review as usual, and keep up the good work.
Thanks mate your sentiments pretty much sum up my feelings with Citizen, they are cool & for the most part great value but.......& I can't put my finger on what that "but" is but its a pretty big one!. Thank you for watching & the support as always. 👍
@@somewhereintimewatchreviews Haha, yeah its a "but", despite the value and quality. At least for me, some people think otherwise and mean Citizen is the perfect alternative to Seiko. And I get that, but it's just not for me.
Check out Casio Oceanus line. Solar, radio controlled, perpetual calendar, titanium most models, etc. Made in Japan with Zaratsu finishing (of Grand Seiko fame). I just got the S100 for $460.
Not sure what’s taking me so long to get a citizen chrono, I’ve had one on the wish list since I started collecting! The strap, that was hilarious, how do you make a leather band sharp. Interesting. Chronos are/were my favourite watches, I personally wish watches would get rid of those 24 hour subdials that are next to impossible to read and useless IMO anyways. Other than that, love the orange accents on this one. Gunna get one some day! Thanks Adrian
This one is definitely a looker but yeah that strap was just plain nasty haha. There's a lot of good citizen chron's out there I'm sure you'll scratch that itch before too much longer. 😁
They are pretty cool I like the kinda retro look & if you can get past that strap they are a good watch. Thanks for watching my friend appreciate the support.👍👍
If its from Ali express its 100% a fake. I would always recommend buying Citizen or Seiko or any other well known brand from an official authorised retailer. The golden rule of thumb here is if its a lot cheaper than the actual watch & seems "too good to be true" then it is too good to be true.
Wife just bought me one for my birthday and I made up with it. I’ve always been a Seiko fanboy but this is my second Citizen and I’m slowly being turned.
This is one of the nicest Citizen watches that I've had, I'm also a Seiko fanboy so I get what you mean. Thanks for watching & I hope you continue to enjoy your new watch. 👍
By the main Crown, when you pull the crown outwards there are 2 positions or clicks, position 1 will allow you to change the date position 2 will allow you to set the time
It's very easy. The crown has 2 positions, pull it out onc click to set the date , pull it out 2 clicks to set the time & push it back in when done. This will all be shown in the instruction leaflet that comes with the watch.
It’s not your eyes bro the date is unreadable but that being said, I think it looks like a cool watch and like you I just can’t get on board with Citizen. Very good and fair review though 👍👍
Yep 100% agree with you & that's one of my main overall gripes with a lot of Citizen watches date windows too small & set too deep in the dial. Thanks for watching.

Yeah that stock strap is just nasty. A silicone or an FKM is a great choice though.

I think theyre a great pickup at the current Argos price.

Nice video, I may consider one for that price!
Cheers!

Great looking dial and color combination! That date complication IS deeeeep. Nice Citizen Eco-Drive though, especially for the price!
Yeah the overall look is pretty cool but the date is way too deep it seems to be a thing with eco-drive watches probably because of the extra solar panels I would prefer it if they had no date at all. 😁
Nice! I do think eco-drive is a phenomenal technology. They basically solved continuous power generation!
Agreed i do have a great deal of respect for their eco-drive movements they are the kings of solar powered watches.
Just purchased one at a steal, may try to seek out a cyclops crystal to improve the date window vision.
To be fair, that date window is the only thing that kinda let's this one down, so a cyclops crystal if you can find one would be a good upgrade, the strap is a simple swap. Thanks for watching.

Just got one of these for my birthday from the wife today
Awesome! Congratulations & happy birthday. Definitely a cool watch. 👍👍
I just wanted to know if the one from aliexpress is a genuine one or fake as instead of the Eco Drive, it's written Quartz!!!!

Oh I guess mine is broken and it's brand new lol.. thanks. Hopefully I can return it.
If its brand new yes definitely.take it back. They should be covered by Citizen's 5yr warranty as well. Hope you get it sorted.
In Argos it's for £150. Is it worth it?
I would say its a good watch at that price, but only you can decide if its worth it for you as its your hard earned cash. 😊
Leather conditioner will do the trick

Would it kill them to make the date VISIBLE ?!?!? 🤬🤬 Bought this shitty watch and then noticed - a mag.glass is needed to see the f...n date
