I discarded so much in my 2 lockers, brought up hubby’s books (valuable to him), and saved over $1k a year in locker rental. What a relief.

i get so many comments on my channel saying 'youre not a minimalist' . to me minimalism is a lifestyle. for me, its having the mindset of always eliminating everything that doesn't serve me and our home. there are areas that slowly build up, but overall my mindset is always considering what we can let go of

Wow! Such a great video Elin. Limiting beliefs about myself are definitely those thoughts that just hover in the background and sometimes prevent me from doing what I want or need to do.

Love this! I think the name “minimalism” sets people back. I heard someone call it “essentialism” which fits better semantically. My life has been forever improved by minimalism. In body, mind and spirit I’m freer, less anxious and stressed, able to cope better with my chronic illnesses, etc. My life is simplified beyond belief, and my home is cozy, warm, peaceful and welcoming effortlessly. Blessings Elin! You look great and hope your MS is manageable with all the extra work your body is doing 💝🙏🏻

This is minimalism. Essentialism is keeping things that are functional. Minimalism is about cozy, beauty and functional. I am a minimalist

Love this! I do think "I am a minimalist" sets a picture in peoples mind that may not be accurate.

You almost have 100k subs. You are successful and there are plenty in your circle. We may be on the internet, but we are in your circle.
It isn’t for everyone. And some have other reasons for having lots of stuff. And that’s okay. For them. I love my small apartment with minimal things to keep up on.

I started working towards minimalism about five years now but I still come to your channel for great tips I myself have never thought of. No matter where we are on the journey we can still learn from another perspective.

I think that in our culture we forget that everyone is always a work in progress. Even a master of their craft is still working on improving and developing themselves. So we’re all working on minimalism, rather than being minimalist experts. Look at how people were annoyed with KonMari for changing her tolerance for clutter after she had kids. Duh, of course she did! We love to see hypocrisy in people we think are better than us or judging us, but it’s our own insecurities that are the problem. The best teachers are often people who aren’t “there” yet, who have struggled and still struggle with the thing they’re trying to do. So keep up the good work! And don’t worry about being minimalist so much as working towards it :)

For me, my version of minimalism changes from time to time. But any version of it is better than not at all.

I enjoy your channel. I have been slowly decluttering and getting rid of things it is so much easier to have fewer things.

People say the same things to me when they find out I am a minimalist. They seem scared about the idea of having me in their home as if I will judge them poorly instead of understanding that they can live their lives as they please just as I do. I feel many people struggle with the idea of change and then once they do things they see how amazing it is (including thoughts). Great video. Good job at getting better at the things you have been able to build habits for over time.

This is similar to people's reaction when you give up alcohol or are adhering to a specific diet for health reasons.

You are awesome. 🥰 I look forward to watching your videos. You approach your minimalism ideas in a way that resonates with people. As a Boomer i grew up in a home full of stuff. My parents kept everything. I have spent my whole life trying not to have a lot of stuff. Sentimental Items is the big one for me. Your video on that subject really helped me. Thank you so much 💛🥰 I am grateful for your inspirational and helpful ideas on minimalism.

Thank you for this video and giving the freedom for a variety of minimalists to feel comfortable along the journey. Because you were a child with a really busy room and a difficult time giving things away, what do you suggest for parents with kids like this 😬

Lol at the expected judgment. Half of us are doing it to cut corners for mental, physical health, kids, having a lot on our plates, digital overstimulation, just modern life stuff. It's not a cool kids club.
