can't really skate anymore due to my body being too beaten up over the years but still watch and enjoy every minute of your content Jonny. Keep up the great work with the vids, your skating, and being such a wholesome dude. Much love from Texas 🤘
Great tutorial! 48 and still skating regularly and trying to learn new stuff, have never landed a pressure flip in 35 years of skating but this talk through made perfect sense and giving it a go in the morning! 👊🏻
@@JonnyGiger Normally I focus on your Mullen-based stuff. This was my first time watching an instructional video of yours. I have to say, this was awesome! The amount of time and effort you put into this is very apparent to me, and while you may very well get something out of it, this is ultimately an attempt to help people. I think that's awesome. Good on you, Jonny! You do great work. 👍
Can’t skate anymore due to a bad knee but I still love watching your vids. I might be the odd one out on this, but I always found scoop tricks very easy whereas all my friends despised them. So many of my favorite tricks required it, like the impossible was by far my favorite trick to do. It just felt so right. Anyways thanks J.
a few days ago i accidentally landed my first and only pressure flip when i trying to learn 360 flip hahaha But now i wanna learn pressure flip first cause i feel like it's gonna help me getting the 360 flip :) thanks for the video :)
So smooth Jonny! You're an excellent teacher. It makes complete sense with regards to how the "scoop" technique is relatable to be used in other various tricks as you'd mentioned.. like for hard flips. But the scoop would be used in a backside manner. Awesome stuff, bro.
I love how it always looks so easy with the tricks you master, then you give us your "one-thousand-tries-Impossible-tricks-of-Rodney-Mullen" to make us consider the extreme difficulty of the whole thing... Thanks for your vids, man ! You got me into skateboarding 1 year ago, and for that I'll always be grateful 🙏🙏🙏
back in the day a friend of mine was doing these pressure flips and was passing it off as inward heels lol inward heel and varial heel my favourite trick i love seeing them done nice and crispy.
That’s crazy you thought that too! I saw it and it literally is an inward heel motion, without the heel flip, a 1 foot inward heel is what it looks like. An insane trick ( I had to pause it and rewind it for like 5 minutes to really understand how it was being done. Good shit ✔️
Perhaps back in the day when trick tips were harder to come by this was a dirty trick in a game of skate. But now a days it's possible to get help with nearly any trick imaginable. It's best to learn to pressure flip just like any other trick
This vid is creepingly well timed, just watched ur other pressure flip vid from 2017 yesterday and instantly got the rotation with 1 foot, defo gotta practice a lot more but hey i even started haha
I learned pressure flips back in 2003 I guess and have been popping them to about any directions since then. FS pressure flip is easy, BS pressure flip is tiny touch harder but feels good to land too. When you get to nollie/switch/fakie pressures you are getting good at it, but when you add body varials and turn yourself too at the same time with board on pressure flips you are mastering it. Somehow it still feels like cheating because of the technic of this trick: its easy when you know how to. When people stare at those all pressure variations with jaw dropping, you dont feel the same because its too easy comparing to other flips.... Anyway, cool looking tricks and my "special" tricks when doing SKATE with friends.
tried them on the day you uploaded this and noticed too how the board pops really high, I only caught it with the front foot because I was happy to have figured out the flick but will give it a go next time again :)
Dude, where were you in 2008 when I was skating, because your explanations seem very good to me and they would have served me a lot back then. Now I don't have time to skate but I really want to after watching your videos. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Cyprus.
@@JonnyGiger Yeah thanks for the inspiration hitting 35 next year and getting a little discouraged about skating.. even trying to squeeze in the time isnt easy. Also, Korea has a lack of skate parks or spots.
I used to be able to do these pressure flips, fakie as well, back in the 1990’s. I also could do the kind that flip straight kind of like a heelflip. I want to relearn these at 40 years old. I’ve got the scoop down and mentally I know I can do it but I have to stop being a pu$$sy about it and just land it! Thanks for the video!
@@JonnyGiger front foot like heelflip, same pop as inward version, this is done, I bet on you two tries Johnny . Easy breezy. Pocket is the secret 🤫. Idk man
My pressure flips go vertical then does sorta a half flip since how I learned them was driving the tail out with the pressure that’s my back foot. And that makes mine go. Pretty much straight up does a half flip then I landed back to the bolts
Jonny I’m really struggling getting the back foot to commit, putting all the weight on my back foot & when I bring my front foot up, my back foot goes straight down
How do I not put my Backfoot on the ground when I try this trick?! When I commit it just does a pop shuv it. When I do the practice step, I can land with my front foot only.
i mean when im trying to do the pressure flip and im jumping the board idk why doesnt flips sometimes it does pop shuv it or nothing and sometimes it flips but my front foot stops it or it flips and i cant land on it bc it lands in front of me
Unpopular opinion : pressure flips are cool af
Hell yeah, love a pressure flip ✊️
people who don't like pressure flips just don't like fun
Why are pressure flips frowned upon
