Time magazine has as much credibility when talking video games as they do with everything else, aka no credibility at all. Absolute joke. Won't make a ounce of difference as the game continues to underperform financially. Let's ralk about some things we feel positive about in video games. BG3 has really gotten me interested in CRPGs. Got quite a few during the Steam Winter Sale. I'm more experienced with JRPGs, but I'm looking forwards to playing some isometric, turn based western rpgs. Thankfully they mostly are left alone since it's a style of game that AAA publishers and "mainstream" gaming media mostly ignore.
Oh nice. I'm finally getting caught up with Tales or Bersaria which is on sale on Steam. I want to try BG3 one day after I finish and ship a couple more projects.
Some countries, like Brazil, games on launch reach prices up to R$350,00 , consider that the minum wage in Brazil is R$1412,00. Now imagine paying that for propaganda, no way. I used to buy games frequently on steam sales. Now I rarely do that. I think I only bought two games this year, one of them was Helldivers 2 which is great fun!

I have heard Amazon has those items but I am not sure for myself. You can check. Some of my supporters recently bought flash cards so they can play my DS homebrew games.
It was flooded with them roughly two years ago. It's harder to find without the stupid roms preloaded, but they are still around the Internet. Make 100% to buy a good and trusted micro SD card (it doesnt have to be more than the (8) in speed. because all the included micro SD cards are the worst and dye in a few weeks of use.
If you have a DSi or any type of 3DS, you can use nds-bootstrap instead of a flashcart. Find TWiLight Menu++, it's the loader. Even if you DO have a flashcart, TWiLight Menu++ is still an excellent firmware for it.
It is definitely a boring topic but I do hope more people take the time to actually address it. Letting small things slide is how the pile of nonsense that is current western gaming has become so big. Just a little here, a little there. Then bang, TLoU2, SBI’s “terrorize them” speeches, voice actor activists, Concord, Vailguard. I had no clue how bad it was until about a year ago now, didn’t even have a Twitter. Enough is enough.

I like how their list is a "10 favorite of the year" and that's probably to say "well look; but e put helldivers and wukong on our list; we're gamers too!" Junk journalism.
This may just cause a popular rise in Indie games even more. Maybe even these Indie companies could be AAA studios in the future if they continue to get the sales they are getting today.
I've never understood what their angle is. Guilt tripping gamers has never worked. Most wokesters don't even like games and just see them as a means to an end in their cultural revolution. Hence the myth of the modern audience. Do they hope they can fool normies into buying them by misrepresenting the games? That only works so many times though.

There are the occasional good video games (and even tabletop games) that do come out, just not from the “usual popular sources.” The various fans are not obligated to purchase lackluster (to them) products. Seems like the game publishers have forgotten the business component of their respective industries, wherein the paying consumer has a (hopefully polite and civil) voice.
What bothers me most is that they don't put in the work to grow, create, and uplift. Instead, they infiltrate an established space, hijack its legacy for sustenance, and destroy what made it special. Frankly, I consider it a bait-and-switch.

This is the western AAA gaming industry right now and it SUCKS!!
Ohh yea when you pay money to journalists
Change "gamers" into "customers". Same thing. They just don't get it.
I find it weird that the gaming industry in Western countries forgets that the customer and shareholder are the most important part of the industry
The shareholder is the customer. The gamer is a consumer to them, part of the production process. Therefore in today’s world, they usually talk about consumers, not customers.
I see those articles as a desperate attempt of a dying industry to maintain any sort of authority or relevance.
Developer here. I love all of your videos, but splitting it between industry and practical development is what my soul really needed.
"make your own decisions as gamers, don't listen to the manchildren in the industry."
Yes, gamers are to blame. After all, it was us who asked for Skull and Bones, Concord and of course we also begged Rocksteady to make a live service game.
"You are making concious choices as a consumer! Stop it and consume the slop" - Jurnos.
What a timeline.
*_DA:VG has on Steam currently 11,753 players online, that's sorta the max past week after this last sale/discount of the game; but the all time peak is still only 89.5K._*
*_Now how to check how many have finished the game, is there maybe some achievement list we could look up and figure out how many completed the game(1 run)._*
1.5 subs to watch the amazing 100k sub video in a suit ,the best part you deserve it as you have kept you content original and unfiltered honest views, always watch every video you put up
Clearly we need the suit and tie speech for why you don’t give Scyther Sp. Atk and HP EVs.
Okay THAT is a topic deserving of the suit and tie. People should KNOW THS by now.
I'm really disappointed that you threw away that speech. It sounded interesting and thought-provoking.
But thank you for the tip about DS Game Maker. Sounds like something I can keep in reserve.
Remember: Evil has NO creativity. They can only steal and destroy.
DS Game Maker? Wow! This little console is outstanding. THANKS!
Have fun making your own actual DS Games and be sure to share and ask for help in the Discord!
The video game industry is the only one that makes bad products then turns around and blames the consumers for not consuming bad products. Imagine buying a car, having it run like complete garbage, it doesn't even look like the car you picked at the dealership, it's missing parts that will get added months later possibly even years later and to top it off every time you get in your new car it lectures you..... people wouldn't drive cars if the car industry treated it's customers the way the game industry has been treating its customers. The movie industry has become basically the same thing
Congrats for 100k in advance.
I don't think you understand how incredibly calming you are as well as helping with optimisim instead of pessimism. You talk about difficult/annoying topics but I always end up finishing your videos with a more calm and positive outlook.
@@sungrandstudios I really liked the story of Berseria, but I hated the gameplay. It's weird because i really enjoyed the gameplay in Tales of Arise.
It's crazy, we are winning by not doing anything
I'm sad that they invested their funds on lying instead of use it to fix the game to be able to be sell well.
Yeah, good point. Sadly they aren't able to fix the games. They just lack the ability.
Ah yes, attack the customers. Worked great for Hollywood
I appreciate pieces of yours like this the most.
Thank you for educating potential future devs instead of getting sucked into the drama and giving those weirdos attention. Thanks for being positive Jerrel!
ESG score: -1000
How do I get a more negative score?
@@sungrandstudios Talk more about Jesus, point out that John was the last prophet...
"First, hats off to what has to be the most advanced character creation system ever brought to video games." - A person who barely plays video games
You are the only drama channel that doesn't talk about it and i'm loving not hearing about it so I atleast know what's not going on in the gamer world.
I'm joking, you are not a drama channel I know, you're the chillest guy to catch up on the boring news to still be a little aware. Thanks for not talking about it!
We got shills and activists who don’t buy or play games telling us gamers to gobble up these DEI garbage, while also demonising us if we don’t.
Didn't even know about DS Maker. Nice. Thanks for the share!
The EV joke alone deserves a thousand likes! As usual a great video, keep up the good work.
Hey Sungrand! Thanks for the video! I feel like at this point it's only a matter of time before these games studios run themselves into the ground due to their hiring practices and the stuff they insert into their games. I think the best thing to hope for is once these studios do close that other studios have the good sense not to hire the people from them.
"Dragon drop" interface made my day.
I knew about an engine to make Game Boy games but it's the first time that I hear about that one for the DS, good to know about it!
Wired has no credibility. Time Magazine has been losing its respectability for 20 years.
Oh that is pretty cool. Make your own DS games!
Didn't know this sort of thing existed.
Since when does wired care about video games?
Recently had a lay off in my job and i lost my job. I kept applying to different places but never git a call despite having 7 years of experience. So i decided to call myself queer/trans etz and boom. Got multiple calls. Scary people get jobs easily when they arent qualified just because they pretend they are something they are not
I had no idea DS Game Maker was a thing. Thanks for the recommendation!
I hope you enjoy! Don't forget the example projects and asking for help in the Discord.
Will definitely take a look at that game maker engine, I'vealso been thinking of messing around with Adventure Game Studio for a project my bro and I have been kicking around as well but a dragon-drop interface might be better for a first project - sounds pretty slick whatever it is!
This is the Time magazine that is doing very successful ragebait since long ago, choosing their "person of the year" 1938 for example.
Ragebait really sells, this is why unfortunately LIFE magazine (great read) failed and Time still printed physically (yes, in 2024!), and people are still talking about it.
I should also track down the last Unity build that supported N3DS and Wii U, along with old public Nintendo SDKs for those platforms.
Sweet, thanks for the game maker!
Thank you for aligning the viewpoint and suggesting the right mannar for how to go about it.
Thanks for watching and understanding.
A good grandma buys a copy of Veil Guard for each of their children's kids. Said our local free news paper.
it is very hard to get an R4 or those things to put the rom in now tho
I've lived for over half a century and I can't ever remember Time Magazine being relevant to me. Wired is a joke. Cool video, thank you.
DS game maker is interesting. Thanks for sharing it, gonna try it out. It is more interesting for me at least.
The suit and tie should be reserved for responses to game developers.
Game "journos" are not professionals and do not need to be treated as such.
Save the suit for people who might be convinced to behave in a professional manner and put out a well-made product if they hear you out.
What was that other game maker from your other video, RPG maker? I really want to check it out
I've never understood what their angle is. Guilt tripping gamers has never worked. Most wokesters don't even like games and just see them as a means to an end in their cultural revolution. Hence the myth of the modern audience. Do they hope they can fool normies into buying them by misrepresenting the games? That only works so many times though.
That's something really catchs my eyes: yes, I would love to learn how to create a DS game
Just download and setup the ds game maker, thanks for the scoop, ds gamemaker might fit to some of my ideas, weather or not it goes anywhere is anybody's guess :D Thanks regardless.
I’m super sick of this topic too man. Chips away at my soul: shit wasn’t like this when I was 12-20 years old when gaming was incredible 90s-early 2000s
I mean, they told us before not to own games, so jokes on them. Sad. 😐
As a pirate a identified myself as a non-buynary before it became a mainstream.
In other news, the works beetroot drizzle pizza from Pizza Hut actually tastes pretty good. You can add garlic, chilli flakes and extra pizza sauce for free.
So close to 100k subs!
What an incredible team effort everyone has put in to help the channel grow!
Thanks for the recommendation! I've been writing a fantasy story, maybe trying to turn it into a DS game could be kinda fun.
"The best teachers are the best pupils" one of my teachers once said. If you're listening to the voices of those you try to teach, you learn more of your own profession.
Game devs NOT listening anymore to gamers, instead listening to people that absolutely doesn't care about games is the wildest, most insane development of "progressivism"
heya bud, what instruments can you play anyhow?
I'll share 'em! I'm exploring the various variation of zithers and play mostly stringed instruments in guitar, mandolin, banjo, and dulcimer families.
@@sungrandstudios cool, thanks. i can make a few sounds on guitar and piano but would never insult anyone who can actually play, by claiming to be able to " play" either one. = p
I haven't read magazines for couple decades now.🙂
Same.
RenPy is a good Engine to make Visual Novels. It uses a easy to learn Script language to make games.
Oh, neat. I'll look that up and see if I can make recommendations.
Thank you for putting it into words what some of us(me included) are unable to say..
They really put Lego Horizon Adventures on the list ? Basically nobody bought and played this. I am surprised they didnˋt put Suicide Squad on the list. Of course Stellar Blade didnˋt make the list.
Dang, that DS game maker looks neat. Sadly, I skipped from the Gameboy Color straight to the 3DS, so I don't own a DS. Would have been nice to play the games I made with the original hardware. By the way, are there any games made with this software that you suggest? I kinda want to see what other people have done with it to get an idea of what is possible with these software tools.
I’d go so far as to suggest that gaming journalism isn’t a part of the industry, even if it’s a big source of the industry’s problems. So no, any topic of gaming journalism is not worthy of wearing the suit.
Game Studios heads, Game Devs, Hollywood, media don't want us to buy their product. It's a weird way to run a business, but I'm happy to comply.
Now we just need more PC gamers to pull their heads out of their rears and stop supporting Valve. They were front and center on SBIs client list, and they were the original Own Nothing and Be Happy.
Yet PC gamers treat this horrible company that destroyed the PC as a viable platform as greats.
They never believed me when I told them you don't own steam games, finally steam came out and told them and they still don't get it.
