As far as it goes, I'd have to agree. Hiya Monke does indeed take the banana from all that's been seen thus far! I'd challenge just about anyone to try and do a better job here. Hiya are too good for JUST the MV.

The arms kind of are an issue. That can limit a lot of what you can do with the figure. Godzilla gets a pass since he presents in most media as not being that flexible. However, MV Kong is very flexible, and not being able to at least rest his arms in a natural pose hinders a lot of possible posing. I hope they address in future releases like they did with their 2019 Godzilla.
Great review! I finally got mine and I love it. Just one thing though: mine came with his left bicep installed backwards. It’s not immediately obvious but if you compare both arms it’s clear one of the biceps is backwards. Is your like that? I wonder if it’s just my copy.

While I'm not a fan of this Kong, I love their Godzilla, and swapped my SHMA 2019 for it. The main thing I am so excited for is their MUTOS and Godzilla 2014! Their Mothra looks great, but I'm not a fan of the straight flat wings. Rodan...perfect! I may be in the minority on this, but I'm all for a wire inside winged animals. To me Bandi's Rodan could have really used them (Shoot King G too). It's one of the thing I loved about the Revolteck Rodan back in the day. You could get so many dynamic poses from him. Still have him on my Showa shelf.
You are high if you use the hiya Godzilla over the 2019 shma. Hiya Godzilla is their worst figure. The meltdown and supercharged hiya Godzillas are great but the base Godzilla looks really cheap and gross.
Can’t wait for mine to come in. The paint job looks fine as heck. Good review my friend! The SH Kong’s Chest and Back can look funky I never noticed it.

This figure is as if Sh monster arts Kong and the Neca Kong had a baby, the detail and accessories of Sh monster arts and the size and articulation of Neca 👍

Naw, the smaller one is the Godzilla Vs Zilla 2004 set figure, the bigger one is the Yutaka Real Heroes Godzilla 1998. YMSF Zilla is a 6inch figure I believe. Hate that I missed it lol Hope this helps!

My only downside of the Hiya kong is he only really scales with the Hiya Godzilla (Which is to be expected.) I say downside since I tend to get both SHMA and NECA (When they made figures before the Godzilla line branch was discontinued, fuck you playmates). and sometimes those two can scale rather well despite being from two different companies. I have a NECA Rodan and Movie Poster Mothra to go with my GvK Godzilla, SCE Ghidorah, and CC event Kong SHMA's and they scale rather well to their sizes to the movies and looks. Though did hear the SHMA Mothra and Rodan were smaller and bigger than their NECA counterparts, but didn't get the duo pack because thought the paintjob looked sloppy and poor (Similar to the vanilla Ghidorah). Here's Hoping Hiya can scale both Mothra and Rodan to be similar to NECA/SHMA in terms of size and looks (Rodan looks promising from what I've seen of images of.)
Tbh I don’t think hiya did a good job with this figure. Imo accuracy doesn’t always mean it looks better I think it shows with the head sculpts to me they are just ehhhhhh… no. He doesn’t look like he has any other emotion than angry despite kong in the movie displaying a lot more. I think this thing looks like Neca made it but in the worst way possible way. I’ll stick with sh on this it’s got way more possibility and imo opinion just looks more alive

Could definitely have used some more shoulder and hip articulation but overall looks pretty solid. Looking forward to their skull island Kong
