I liked the comment about putting the same amount of textures and highlights as you would on a smaller mini. A friend of mine, who makes wonderful armor models, said the trick to getting great results was to remember that everything on the model is, in itself, a model of that thing. The seats are a model of the seats, the jerry cans were models of jerry cans, the tarps and ropes and crates were all models of those things. If you want a model to look great, put as much time detailing those smaller models as you do on the larger model. Applied here, while the mini is larger, the medallions on the headpiece are still just models of medallions, the skirts are just models of the skirts, etc. Put as much time into detailing and texturing them as you would the rest of the model. Will it take more time? Sure will. Will it be worth it? Sure will.
Totally agree Jon! We se so many "bigger" models relying too much on just oil washes and highlighting with the airbrush. Faster yes... But I am not being chased by a Daemon, so no rush here man. Also giving the smae amount of textures and details to a bigger miniature, keeps it looking like it is matching the "scale" of the smaller minis. 😉🎨🎨🎨
Great video there’s not many videos on this topic. I’m not opposed to using an airbrush but I prefer using a regular brush. For a long time I was too intimidated to paint my drukhari voidraven bomber but I think I’m finally just gonna tackle it and paint it by hand.
I'll be honest, you've associated with an amazing and talented youtube to showcase your paint line. I'm looking forward to eventually buying them for myself! :D
Beautiful Keeper of Secrets! The cloth and sword are insane! Slaanesh is proud of you :) I am yet to paint mine...and your color scheme is awesome! I might copy some of the colors :)
Hahaha! Shy to call my painting is at "display quality". But then again, looking around here at UA-cam I think my painting is indeed Golden Lemon! 🍋🍋🍋😅
@@DonSuratos Thanks Don. Nothing wrong with your painting 🖼️. That’s why I subscribe to your channel. Besides…..unlike the bigger names in the miniature painting community…..you actually paint something 😉🤝☕️☕️🎨🎨👍
@@vermillionhugh Thank you for subscribing! Appreciate it! I "actually paint something"? Ahhh you mean big names just talk? Sorry no idea, I watch science stuff and true crime channels here while painting these days. I no longer watch miniature painting videos. So that I won't be influenced with other people's stuff. 😊🎨🎨🎨
@@DonSuratos Welcome! Precisely…. The big names talk instead of painting . I don’t watch them either but my granddaughter does and I have to listen 👂😂. I tend to paint in silence or listen to the radio. There is nothing new in painting…..we are all influenced by others. Directly or indirectly. Past and present etc. 👍🤝☕️☕️🎨🎨
I'm just discovering english painting channel and, you're incredible. I'm a big fan of your lights with all theses ... Don't know how to say it, slashes? It makes an incredible effect.
@@DonSuratos I enjoy it, thanks mate. So, if I can ask something, 'cause I don't know how to search it properly in another language, did you do some kinf of tuto/explanation on how do you make highlights with this slashes technique?
And the question is, how did you make his skin? Just white paint?. And I am interested in the moment at the very beginning, how to achieve such shadows? Do you need something like to prime the model in black and sprinkle white primer on top?
Thanks for being such an inspiring painter! Sorry if I misunderstood something but what exactly is your 100$ Highlight sauce? And do you have any information on when Merlin’s Magic Medium will be available again?
Save a few paints that needs extra shaking bro... the paints are working for me as advertised. My next video should show this "pre-glazed" properties better. Cheers! 😊
Quite literally one of the most amazing paint jobs I’ve ever seen on plastic bravo
Oh my! Thanks man! 😬🎨🎨🎨
I might potentially miss my own premiere... so sleepy already guys ( almost 10pm )... I hope I am still awake later. 😅

Thanks! Maybe because airbrushing is so efficient, people here do not brush paint as much as before. 😊🎨🎨🎨
This "mini" came out great! Great video as always.
Thank you Izzy! Appreciate it as always man! 😊🎨🎨🎨
Superb result!! 👏👏👏👏 Just beautiful work Don. Subbed.👍👍😉

Bro… I cannot afford to fly there. 😅
Thanks for the video!
You’re most welcome. Thanks for watching! 😊
Great video Don! I got my first set of the Cuttlefish paints a few days ago!
Ooooohhhh! Nice man! Did you get the Merlyn's magic medium too? 😊🎨🎨🎨
@@DonSuratos I did! That way I can mix it with my AK Gen 3S!

Do you add thinner medium to the paint from vallejo?
What is it called on the gray plate with white parchment paper-like thing on where you put your paint to mix or something?
Where can I buy those?
Wet palette sir… by @redgrassgames 😊
Can you tell what colors you use? Your paint scheme is amazing!
Oh sorry I forgot and have to rewatch again. 😊
@@DonSuratos Are all the paints you used shown in the video?
Thanks for being such an inspiring painter!
Sorry if I misunderstood something but what exactly is your 100$ Highlight sauce? And do you have any information on when Merlin’s Magic Medium will be available again?
100$ is a joke. 😊 I mean the price is a joke? Merlin is out of stock? Oh no! That is the best medium I have ever tried.
@@DonSuratos Yes I know it was a joke :D I just thought you maybe had. selfmade recipe:)
Don, do you have any issues with the initial base coating with the sketch paints due to how thin they are?

Are you and Vallejo no longer a couple?
Never was in "miniature painting". 😅 Just in gunpla / mecha painting. 😉
Hello Don your intro is cool sound evil remind me of theme Osaka from movie Black rain please youtube
Thank you! 😊🎨🎨🎨
It doesn't make any difference either way but I spent the whole video trying to figure out what kind of accent that is lol
What "accent" bro? Ahhh my accent? Filipino accent? 😅🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
