Flag nuts can be purchased here

Just did this this afternoon. Thank God all finished. Thanks for the video Major!
It sure will make future shock chance easier! Thanks again for watching!
Going to do this tomorrow
Best of luck! Where did you get your flag nuts?
Amazon
Made our own
Cool!
I have a set coming from Amazon, I will be doing all four shocks on my wife’s XJ this week. Thanks Major, great video. God Bless!
Thank you! Good luck on the repair!
@@MajorWeakness Well Major, Thank God, no bolts broke. I did the loosen, tighten, loosen method and it worked! I will save the flag nuts that came for potentially another XJ project.
@Patriot 72 great they didn't break...rare indeed! I'm sure another XJ will need in the future lol
@@MajorWeakness For sure! Lol
After getting old crap out I would do bar pin eliminator for it. I do not Like rough country. But this is one of there better product's.
I agree in the future that's what I'm planning. And I had a nut rattling in the frame for months, finally got it out
Great video can't wait for the next episode.
Thanks for letting me know that eBay has the flag nuts.I was going to buy them from Rough Country for $32.
Yes I've used both brands and they are exactly the same.
Good info, thanks.
Glad it helps
0:56 That's not completely accurate for all Jeeps, you need an air hammer to remove that, your method it won't work if the factory bolt is still there (it is a welded nut to the chassis).
Actually it was the factory nut and you clearly see it popped right out. You are correct you might need an air hammer...or just a hammer. Depends on how much the weld is still holding after 21 years of rust. Thanks for watching, we all learn from each other!
@@MajorWeakness The only way I found to remove it was with an air hammer but, you'll need a big compressor, it won't work with a "pancake" air compressor, I ended up going to a mechanic shop and after bouncing for several others (they wanted to charge me from $200 or more!) I found a decent guy who charge me $30 (it took them 10'). Thanks anyway for the video.
@@ZackHeinkel2000 I'm glad you got it fixed, these XJs and rust are a pain sometimes!
Thanks for the DIY. New sub.
Your welcome, thanks for the sub!
I can't even get mine out with my air hammer
Do you mean the welded nuts?
No, the stem left over from broken bolt head
I've drilled holes, I've headed it up, WD40/PB Blaster, air hammer, nothing is working and I'm breaking all my tools. Been dealing with this for the past month.
