- There's plenty of performance shops out there, but few of them can tame a Porsche like BBi. And as it turns out, there's a ton that you can do with them! Betim from BBi talks about why he modifies cars, and shows us one of his customer cars: a 1200whp daily driving monster!

Loved it, the focus of the people that work on cars and do it because that is what makes them feel good really makes for an enjoyable video to watch.

I have been a fan of BBI for about 5 years now, and it is great to see a video really showcasing what amazing stuff they are doing there. If anyone is interested, there are a couple Smoking Tire podcasts with Betim and Joey(former co-owner, not owner of E-Motion Engineering). It is honestly really interesting to hear these guys talk about everything Porsche, and I hope to own one in the future (as we all do!)
BBi Motors located in SoCal been a huge fan of them since I was in middle school. They grew bigger over the years. Still love their Porsche Carrera 993 build.
When you guys do it, even a commercial like this is worth watching. Awesome job!
Blows my mind that 1200 whp is a happy medium on that 997 turbo... Also his analogy with our passion for cars with wine or football plays is such a great one.

Gears and Gasoline shows us the stuff that is not typically seen in the everyday "car guy life" but it is something you can reach for, and maybe someone watching this video will get the motivation to work hard in life to achieve their dream of owning one of these cars.

How long does it take for you to produce a film like this? very beautiful
Not as long as you'd think. With good producers like these and the production crew that can get such good footage like this, it's then more of a task for editors to feel it out and execute the vision the producers have. This kind of thing can be done in 3 - 5 days if you have a well oiled production machine. I do it all the time. It really just takes a good team, which they are for sure.

Two people is a team. It's so much harder to do it alone. But yeah it's not even a big deal. I generally work (I'm the post side but I also do a little of everything) in small teams of generally 3 to 4 people. 2 Cameras, 1 Producer/Director who shoots as well if we don't have 2 dedicated camera guys and me in post (sometimes 3rd camera). Just the nature of the short form series I work on. We don't get much in the way of budget but we put out good product real fast. Everyone just knows what everyone else expects and it works quite well. It pops out quick because the producer has a clear vision. The key is talent and these guys have it.
Now, I work with a bunch of different producers and hop around among teams but when I get the talented ones on the same project it always comes out great. The edit is like 4 hours because everything is gotten and ready to put together. We sit for a couple of hours to polish the story and after that it's all color correction and graphics which takes like an hour because we have recurring assets and it's not complicated.
I edited a full 60 minute documentary this year. Started the day after Christmas. Finished a week ago. How is that possible? Great talent. Granted, we had a team of around 10 on it. 3 Cams, Sound Recorder/Mixer, PA, Producer, Director, 2 Editors and a Graphics guy. Everyone knows their shit so production is a breeze.
For us, the most time consuming part of any project is setting up the story and shoot in the first place. That sometimes takes weeks depending on who you're dealing with. But that fits right into the schedule, so you overlap projects on the producing side quite a lot. In fact, one of our producers is tearing her hair out right now with fickle people we're trying to get time to interview with.
I know Ben & Been personally, they are their team...just 2 very committed guys...no film crew no production staff. Just them. And some great cameras, a good eye and laptops 🤓.
BBI is awesome. I’d love to see them expand their dedicated model range from primarily 911’s to other Porsche models like the Cayman/Boxster and the 944 and 928. There’s a lot of cheap 944’s out there and a lot of people that want to tune and upgrade them but not a lot of support in the aftermarket industry. It could be a good arena for BBI to jump into to expand their product line.

In my opinion bbi equally and fully represents all the same values that Porsche does and I think that is so important when you’re working on a car of such high pedigree. The combination is seamless they’re easily the best when it comes to porches.
