      @basithph8958 4 роки тому

      Miraak Dova Miraak Dova Mitsubishi yes their lineup is disappointing except for Pajero, Montero, and Triton but Toyota’s been really good lately especially since the past decade
      They were able to make a sports car like the GT86 and Supra even though it was made with Subaru and BMW and because of that they were able to make their own homologation model like the GR Yaris
      Can’t wait to see what the new GR86 and MR2 will be like!

    • @basithph8958
      @basithph8958 4 роки тому

      Miraak Dova yeah that’s because of the GT86 and Supra even though it is built with another manufacturer it is still good to see Toyota having a sports car like GT86 and Supra
      The misconception is that the GT86 is a rebadged Subaru but the BRZ is a rebadged Toyota as the design is by Toyota as well as the engineering while Subaru provided the engine and while the Supra is based off the Z4 they are still two different cars as Toyota made it their own car
      The new GR86 will be on Toyota’s TNGA platform this time around with Subaru’s drivetrain and more updates will be coming for the Supra something great to look forward to

      @@903strikerunit Nowadays we use a lambda probe on the exhaust, and by reading the lambda value across engine rotations and loads we tune the carb to the ideal fuel mixture (a little bit more rich than stoichiometric, to prevent from fuel starvation on high rpm/loads).
      On the past, like in the 90's and 2000's we basically tune by try and error, starting with a rich mixture and depleting it until we feel it's close to where we want, not very accurate but it worked well.
      Many aftermarket turbo projects already have some kind of "recipes" avaliable to give a start point on tuning, specially VWs engines ( if you search for VW AP turbo on UA-cam, you will find a lot of content for example), making things much more easier.

    draw through turbo concept is ealisily tunable, but it acts like a diesel - you wait until the turbo spools and the real power comes up. Im planning this setup to be done on my pinto 2.0l engine, it can be tuned with ear only (and driving ofcrs). Easy part is the tuning, but hard times come when you try to drive this setup - you have to keep it in spooled area of revs, but if it comes down to the not spooled area, you have to wait to let it build the boost up and then you can drive it like a mad man. But it is really cool setup tho. Blow though setups are more capable, but again - hard to tune.

    Sorry am old enough to have seen this as the standard, Still common for Blowers. The basic difference with the carb turbo, simply there were seals to prevent the air/gas mixture from getting into the engine oil. You can still buy them on the market but they are becoming harder to find. Remember that Paxton Blower actually used a vane type pump back in the late 40's to current, the famous Roots blower needs no modification due to their design.

The design was old before it made it to america, it is an economy engine, but it does have aftermarket support and can nake upwards of 400hp in turbo or n/a form and is used in race cars and trucks. I've "seen" many turbo cars with a carb. They usually enclose the whole thing in the pressure box. I believe this is the easiest way make it work. Computer controlled fuel injection just is so much simpler for me to understand.
