Sadly, I haven't read the books, but I feel the same way. Before season 2, I was okay with Alina and Mal. Wasn't head over heels for them, but I knew they'd be endgame. But season 2 has given us this dashing and charming privateer prince - ahem King. I admire him, I admire their scenes together, and I would pay to get much more of them in season 3. 😅💕

I feel like Shadow and Bone saga Nikolay is a whole different vibe than King of Scars saga Nikolay. In King of Scars he has been maturing and developing. I like Nikolay and Alina, but it feels like a first love kinda thing for Nikolay, the one that helps us mature and go places. Alina is in between a relationship, she need to find herself and find her likes and dislikes. And then I feel like Malina and Zoyalai will jump in.
For some reason, I don´t like Mal at all. He is the nice guy, but ... too nice. That doesn´t make sense, but ... I hope you know, what I mean xD I like Nikolai with Alina a lot more! He is charming, caring, funny and brave and ... in my opinon, looks better than Mal, but, that´s not so important. I wish ... SPOILERS They would have had the guts to let Mal stay dead. I did not read the books, so I don´t know what happend there, but ... no show has the guts to let a important character stay dead. I was so mad and disappointed, when he came back (even tough I know, she used this forbidden magic and stuff and that will be a plot point in s3, but ... yeah) Mal´s death would have made perfect sense and would let us believe that everyone could die (like in GoT) But now I just know that every big character is going to stay alive. I at least hope Nikolai stayes alive. He could die. But not Alina, Mal or any of the crows.

He's just a nice guy. Nice but still uninteresting. And being uninteresting in fiction is a crime) Also, nothing to have, but Nikolina reminds me of Tritan and Yvaine from the movie Stardust ! The girl is literally a star (and isn't the sun a star after all?) and at the end, we discover that the guy is a prince. In the end they become king and queen. 😢
