Lol turns out that all of these crimes can be proven wrong, even the ones that may seem like they are true. I might post how each of them are wrong if I get the chance.
I think it would be interesting to see the defense side of the case. Where each offense is either proved true or false based on the evidence. I know though it would be a lot of work to pull off.
I have played around with the idea of doing a defence side trying to get people like Sephiroth acquitted.

Charges that should be dropped:
Theft: robbery cancels it out
Assault: arguable self defense
Animal abuse: also self defense, Luigi only attacks the cat after the cat attacks him
Kidnapping: alternate universe bs
Criminal damage: arguably was forced to fight
Unauthorized works: it was all a dream bs
Obstruction of correspondence: he didn’t know who it was for so he couldn’t return it
Unlawful gambling operation: no proof that legal documents don’t exist
Employing minors: toads are old enough to live at homes they aren’t minors
Presenting false documents: a lot of people fall for scams without double checking
Criminal damage: no one else seemed to know about the place except the main crew, so it was likely not protected by the government at all
Forced labor: the majority of the ghosts were under King boo’s influence Luigi actually freed them
Civil disorder: Luigi was clearly brainwashed
I feel like there's gonna be a guy to object against Luigi's crimes and make Luigi look innocent.
There has to be.

Paper mario as a series takes place in a book and mario party is a spin off.
And the money in luigis mansion was technically legal to take as the owners were long dead by the time he came around.
The mansions,as well as hotel were typically in poor state with the luigi's mansion dark moon being the best condition overall.
On top of that it is stated in game that the money was ok to take by professor egad in the second game as it was left there unclaimed for years.
Technically the residents are ghosts, therefore legally dead and unless it was straight from the grave it's fairgame.
As far as the mainline series goes he did nothing.
Unless what mario did applies to him.
That is possible.

@@BackseatYT No offense but a lot of these charges have either been trumped up past what they should be or are utterly fabricated. Either lack of precedent or evidence makes most of these crimes unprosecutable, and the citation of the Mr. L persona, which was imposed upon the defendant against his will and consent, really puts the nail in the coffin for the prosecution, defense is gonna have a field day with that. The obstruction of correspondence, though, that's hook line and sinker. No arguing about whether laws apply to acts against violent, malevolent spirits or not as far as that goes.
Assuming Luigi and Paper Luigi are, in fact, the same person, anyway. And even then, can you prove that Luigi wasn't under the mind control powers of Mr. Bleck during the crime? If there's substantial evidence of a chronology of the Paper Mario series, then yeah, it's a winner, even if it might be in poor-taste considering how heavily you leaned in on the forced labor when that's exactly what was happening in the Mr. L incident.
The evidence of kidnapping is a bit interesting, too, when the supposed victims of most of these crimes had done just that to Luigi's brother and sister-in-law at the time of the incidents. And with the kidnappee of Luigi, as you label them, a current legal adult and known friend of the family, it's interesting he wasn't brought on as a witness, if his involvement was so important.
But, you know, the mail thing was pretty solid, I'm sure none of that matters too much

Hey, this isn’t even up to date, seeing as he pirated Mario Party DS on several occasions. Technically speaking, Mario is also a criminal because he lives alongside his brother, who’s a criminal.

where's the evidence that mr L was dimento's doing it could very well just be luigi as far as the evidence shows, i saw no indication luigi was brainwashed in the evidence shown.

Everything is so gorgeously made, all the small details on the board, Luigi's animations, the sound design and most of all, I love how you synced your voice and animations to the music, that's gotta be really hard even if you practice your script to the music. Can you make a part where someone objects? Here are the things they could say to defend him:
He only attacked the cat in LM3 because the cat was attacking him, he was simply defending himself. He also did not intention to destroy the hotel in LM3, the hotel just lost control, it no longer had a purpose to trap people. Plus, his whole intention was to save his friends. And don’t get me started on “fOrCeD lAboR”, in the video evidence shown, the ghosts agreed and wanted to help rebuild the hotel, otherwise they had nowhere to go. In SMB2, he was digging to save the pixies/fairies from the King Wart, he was in a hurry, and he wasn’t stealing Mario’s mail, they live in the same house, and Mario did not care, after all, they are brothers. Plus, you don’t know the age of toads, they have been around for a very long time, and Luigi might have been running a legal casino, you never know what happens off camera. Plus, he was just trying to save yoshi, yoshi had no home or trusted guardian known. And Luigi didn’t know how to treat a baby yoshi, the best he could do was treat him like a baby. Plus, he was only destroying the historic artifact because the skeletal dinosaur was possessed and attacking him. And WOW, it’s like you have never played LM1 before, he was lured to the mansion thinking he won a mansion. Plus in PM:TTYD He could’ve been an accident, and like I said, we don’t know if he could’ve gotten a drivers license or not, but he probably has! And so called “Mr. L” was being mind controlled, which explains his evil schemes in Super Paper Mario. And I’m not done, he was in a hurry to find Mario in Mario Is Missing. Plus, no cars were driving by. AND JAY WALKING ISNT SOMETHING TO BE SO DRAMATIC ABOUT, SO WHAT THE HECK MAN?!!?? *ahem* terribly sorry. But I need more proof that this man is guilty.

I brought up Mr L when you asked for examples of Luigi's dark deeds on twitter and I'm super glad to see that make it in! Much as I detest crimes so lurid as these I do hope we may see more of Mr L someday. For criminology research purposes only, of course!
