The former Drew Mcintyre crossed the line into TNA in 2015 and he was here to stand up for wrestling whatever that meant. He was frustrated with the WWE and the way he had been booked there and he was out for revenge. He formed a bad faction and then mostly feuded with Bobby Lashley.

My memory might be bad, but have you done any of the Warrior runs post 1992?
dude, fuckin loved your intro! that was so funny mate like... you're usually quite funny but ya seem to be proper stepping into ya own nowadays maybe since ya got the 100k IDK. just wanted to say ya doing well man.
So drew was a wwf champion
oi marky, its atleast 5 degrees from a samoan drop what ya talkin about?
Has the Hawk seen latest AEW update? Its FTR and Wardlow vs Jay Lethal and Motor City Machine guns at All Out ppv?
I'm genuinely baffled how slapnuts somehow manages to appear in every promotion seemingly at the same time
The man had a longer career than the undertaker. Let that sink in.
NO ONE ESCAPES SLAPNUTS
@@matthewhenningervonada9914 and he's still going, he's gonna outlast Terry Funk if he keeps going!
@@djpegao he has too
He wasted a lot of his family money on TNA and was forced to sell it to Dixie Carter and Billy Corgan
And with him out of WWE again, will he make a surprise appearance at Impact Wrestling or AEW?
I laugh at how so many people forget that Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes were Tag Team Champions in 2010.
one of the thousands of random tag teams in history
yeah i remember that lol we won with a few partners. Only won more tag titles with two of his partners.
To be fair I only got into wrestling just last year
Hot take: the comedy jobber faction Drew was in (3MB) was booked slightly better than the serious faction he was leading (The Rising).
Drew McIntyre run was really really good in TNA because he was able to be a main-eventer and not a weak one so when he returned to WWE people already knew it wasnt the same three man band McIntyre showing up. He really needed to quit WWE to erase that from people vision.
3MB weren’t ever booked in any storylines so this makes no sense
because jinder won world title, drew won world title, hopefully heath will win too
Drew’s Impact carrer was better then u think
1.he birthed us Eli Drake
2.him losing to Matt gave us Big Money Matt that lead too Broken Matt
3.Lashley had the best run of his career with help of Drew
4. He rehabbed his career and became The a Scottish Psycopath/Warrior we have to say
It’s truely a under rated run lol
he also gave us tama tonga

Here a little funny story 2 years ago when drew was defending his WWE championship against bobby lashley at backlash TNA actually upload they're TNA championship match a few days before the ppv and in comments they said "we never intended to get this much...backlash for posting the match
They were obviously clout chasing like “hey we had them a few years ago we already did this match”
@@JM-fr5ge it was pretty funny tho
@@anonluxor470 not really
@@JM-fr5ge so? Heres a match from years ago featuring the two fighting for the wwe title. Enjoy. Whats the harm. Appreciate their work elsewhere
They did the same during WWE's AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe rivalry

Changing Drew’s character from cocky to aggressive with a nice trimmed beard was just what he needed 👌🏻

"Look where he is now, two time WWF Champion."
Damn WWF has changed lol
At least someone noticed im like am i buggin
I agree Drew's run in TNA wasn't great, but he was brilliant on the independent's around that time, just go watch some of his stuff in ICW, Evolve and WCPW, which were all great and what truly made him into a main event level talent
Did you miss his TNA feud with Bobby?
Drew being a clean-cut good guy here was a weird contrast when, I think when I saw him at ICW at the same time, he was just this angry dickbag who swung around the championship belt like his crotch claymore lol (or yeah his Evolve time where he was just really, really pissed off at Matt Riddle down to cutting a pretty great post-show promo because his ride to the venue was very stuck in traffic or so he said).
But also yeah his later feud with Lashley where he was the angry brute, down to invading Lashley's gym, was pretty fun too!
Nah his run was pretty good overall, not all of it but his feud with Lashley alone solidifies it as gold tbh
Fun fact: Drew is one the only 8 men to have held the WWE Championship AND the TNA World Championship. The others are Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Bobby Lashley, Alberto Del Rio/El Patron, Mick Foley and No Job Rob.
"the only 8 men"
@@Foxo-Matti12 get over it
So drew is one of a kind or one the only 8
No one asked
The ships have sunk for Samoa Joe and John (insert random last name here). The jury's out for Bobby Roode. Triple H may be in charge, but it might be a major uphill climb.
Drew reinvented himself by going to TNA and his matches with Lashley were classics. They could not pull that off in wwe.
Oh yeah, those Lashley matches are all timers. WWE should get them back together again
Idk while tna made they’re matches must see, wwe did have the hidden gem like the backlash 2020 match that helped make Lashley a monster again
Lashley had great matches in tna too especially when he had 3 titles simultaneously
Come on Lashley Vs Drew was good in WWE too
@@emolgah They were OK but their work in TNA was better
Hell yeah on the NordVPN sponsorship! Super proud of how far you've come!
Sucks he was in the company at one of their lowest points
I love Drew McIntyre's Run in Impact Wrestling If it wasn't for this run, I don't think he would have ever went back to the WWE and become a main event player
I think his run in ICW and WCPW had more to do with that given Triple H involvement and relationship with ICW
@@rob27dap26 Yeah but he left Impact to go back to the WWE.
As someone who's seen McIntyre in TNA 2015-2017, then when he came back to WWE. I can safely say that he's MUCH BETTER now then before. More personality & fire, then whatever he was in TNA lol.
how is this company still in business, they had one of the best collections of talent over the years yet they never really used any of them right, most had wasted years in the promotion like how
I remember Drew's TNA Run. One of the few highlights of Impact during it's "dark age" and had some good matches with Lashley. Also fun fact, Micah is now a 7x IWGP Tag Team champion with his brother now and Eli Drake came to The 'E as L.A. Knight (which is admittedly a pretty cool ring name).
Also, I guess for what Drew meant by "standing up for wrestling", it was probably him wanting wrestling fans to believe in Wrestling for those dis-spirited by WWE's declining writing (keep in mind, the awfulness that was The Authority was still running at the time Drew came to Impact) and the whole "brass rings" comment from VKM (no, not the Voodoo Kin Mafia).
yeah Micah as Tanga Loa has done a lot better lol
Max Dupri is Eli’s name now
My neighbour is convinced that McIntyre is gonna get the rocket strapped to him starting next ppv. Maybe I should show him this video
tbh already has
The rising had potential. Eli drake was brilliant and micha has had no problems in Japan. They just got bored of it. It did zilch and then one disappeared for 10 years, the other became a cocky heel and nobody ever mentioned they were a team
Drew Galloway time in TNA was a b+ just came back to WWE in NXT help even more focused and serious Drew McIntyre killer instinct is better than first WWE run by far
Speaking of Aron Rex, could you do a video on his TNA run for Ring of the Hawk? He only had 16 matches.
He had so much talent and he was squandered
He was really really good in NWA
@@volodymyrbilyk555 he should have been a world champion, you can build a company off his back
@@volodymyrbilyk555 is he in NWA? I’ll need to hae a look I liked sandow
It wasn't really his TNA run that created abuzz around him, so much as it was the stuff he was doing on the indies at the time. At the same time, he was being booked badly at TNA, he was having great runs in ICW and Evolve
as much as I dont like Jeff Jarrett, I always hope he features in your videos, it is too fun to hear the Pokemon music with his face :D
Drew had a pretty good run in TNA, showed he could be a World Champion and proved Vince wrong
To be fair almost anyone could win the tna world championship, all depends who's booking and who likes who. Aldis looks like a million bucks but cause him and Bruce Pritchard have heat he was never hired by wwe. But he is champ material. I feel bad for him. His big moment when all the fans were behind him happened during the pandemic and had no fans as he won and during his reign
But not everyone can be over and have good matches which is what counts
@@TihetrisWeathersby no doubt, that's why at the end of my previous comment I did say I like Drew and think with the right storyline and character tweaks he could be a great champ for atleast 9-12 months
didn't he proved Vince right because he was literally Roman before Roman when he debuted? He just needed to build his brand.
@@PahadiSher
That's one Vince because he pushed him too hard and didn't build him up
I've only seen bits and pieces of Drew in TNA I always thought his stint was like going back to developmental
It was more like old-school moving to another territory
@@volodymyrbilyk555 nah he was right. It was for him to learn how to wrestle and talk in front of a crowd. He left before NXT became what it is now so he didn’t have that option. He went down to the indies. Wrestled, got over, became a star and he was then ready
MarkyD's commercials are getting better and better
I hope you have seen his amazing promo with Kevin Owens on Raw a week or two ago. It's so nice to see that he has improved so much.
Drew McIntyre and Heath Slater were at my gym once in Central Florida when they were teaming in WWE circa 10 years ago. Drew was in sweats and was about as unassuming as you can get. Heath had his hair tied back and was strutting around like a peacock! 😆
There was a point where Drew accidentally hit Low Ki with a pipe in the back of the head and he bleed a bit
Yup not allowed to show that stuff on here anymore due to new rules
@@Markyd123
Really? It wasn't seriously graphic but it was noticeable
I love the chosen one theme in the background at the beginning slapnuts for life
His run with evolve and his short run with PWG did more for his career than TNA did tbh.
Thanks for this MarkyD, as I wasn't watching during this time, so I've only heard about Drew's TNA run. All this is an interesting history lesson, for me. Looks like it all worked out, in the end, & elevated Drew to the WWE superstar he is today.
Look at all the guys who went from TNA to WWE from 2016-18 who were actually all over. Roode, Styles, The Hardy’s, Lashley, EC3, and Drew. My point is that TNA had these guys on the roster and instead of being a growing point for them, they somehow managed to get even worse
The gorilla ad segment at the beginning made me have to pause the video and laugh my ass off. I love how much MarkyD HATES the Gorilla adverts. Need an A and E rivals documentary on that rivalry lol
8:50 This is around the time I got into Pro Wrestling. Now I'm currently training to become a wrestler myself!
I think he did a lot better during his ICW days while away from WWE than in IMPACT
Drew McIntyre had a fair run impact wrestling he should have held the title more in impact wrestling
Felt like every wannabe babyface from 2011-2018 was doing a “I represent the FANS!” gimmick
They all still do it
The markyd123 facecam era was almost as bad as HHH's reign of terror
I was at these tapings in Glasgow had to sit through like 5 shows in a row got pretty painful towards the end
Max Dupree with Drew McIntyre and Camacho? Wow you were spot on with this being a rough TNA patch.
Or tanga loa of the guerrillas of destiny

TNA was a extended stay on his redemption tour and the determination to prove himself and rebuild himself in the eyes of the fans. Its why he went to NXT before coming back to main roster. Hes worked his ass off and deserves his place in WWE
You 100% remind me of my buddy Jordan, his family is from Iran. I know you're from the area and not necessarily there but just saying lol. Keep up the good work man!
TNA Drew has this weird in-between look of his first WWE run and his current WWE run
In your next video about fantasy booking Impact, it would be interesting to discuss collaborations you'd want to do with other promotions since Impact does bring people over from other promotions from time to time or sends their people to other promotions. I know you don't like AEW but I'm curious if you'd bring back Impact and AEW's former working relationship just as a way to get more eyes on the product.
No colabs with anyone. Contracted exclusive wrestlers make them feel more important
For this to have been Kurt Angle's farewell tour, he's still very mobile in comparison to how he looked in WWE at the end of his career. And it's Drew McIntyre's hometown of... Scotland lol
Yeah I agree. I remember Kurt doing that farewell tour thing a second time but in WWE in 2018 and dude could barely move and WWE wouldn’t let him wrestle for longer than 3 minutes at a time before getting jumped by Baron Corbin and he kept losing to Baron Corbin too it made Angle look like he wasn’t worth beating and it blew my mind because I saw his first farewell tour in TNA in 2015-2016 just a couple years before and his matches with Bobby Roode, Drew Galloway, EC3, and Bobby Lashely were a million times better and I don’t understand how or why. Surly he couldn’t have become that immobile and stiff in just 2 years, it had to be WWEs booking at that point.
@@thehorrorhound6575 idk Kurt Angle looked pretty beat up by the end of his career and even admitted he lost a lot mobility and his matches suffered because of it. That's how he knew it was time to retire
@@UndergroundSkat2000 that’s fair it just seems crazy to think he lost that much mobility in 2 years

He was better in the Black Label in ICW TBH.
I think we need a eli drake ring of the hawk episode that's a guy who should be contending for world championships
tbf to the Grand Championship, it made a nice change from the mostly generic match rules, it get a UP from me for that
I don't care what anyone says but I think Drew was ready in his initial run in the company but I personally think after the news broke out that Tiffany was arrested for beating him, Vince McMahon looked at him differently.
your opinion sucks lol
In order to be WWE champion you have to be able to carry a company and be very over. He was neither. People didn’t hate him. They just didn’t care about him. Don’t forget he debuted in 07 when Cena and Orton were still big. Jericho had amazing feud with HBK in 08. Edge was a super star. Undertaker was still wrestling often, Triple H was still there. Jeff Hardy was huge. Batista was a mega star. Mr Kennedy won the MITB that year. There’s no reason he should have been a top champion over all those guys. Not at that time.
Thats what happens when you dont believe in self defense
Great video! Despite the financial issues, I loved this this time of TNA/Impact. They pushed agile big men like Gallowway, Lashley, Killer Kross, EC3, Moose, etc.
Honestly, this was the last time I really enjoyed TNA... before the "geeks" took over. Lmao
Facts:Drew and Bobby mainevented wrestlemania for the wwe Championship.
Proud of both of them.
Looking back at Drew MacIntyre's TNA/IMPACT run, it was pretty decent but he did get better as time went on. And, if you don't agree with that, I'll clobber you with a thumbtack bat.
I like how the choice of background music is ¨Broken Dreams"Drews former wwe theme
I just found out his old name was drew Galloway.
"ehhh it's a Celtic cross." It's an Emerald Fusion. The Samoan drop should only be reserved for Samoans and fat guys, and Drew McIntyre is neither.
Nice dig at Conman Thompson
**GALLOWAY IN ICW**

For the life of me, I can't remember Drew ever being in TNA 😅
Now I'm afraid to see what happens.... But I can't stop watching 🤣
Video idea you should look at Aleister Black's NXT run it was amazing and he had great matches with Gargano, Andrade, Cole, Ciampa and Dream
That internet gimmick still continues till date and my man also failed in cash-in
It’s funny the most replayed of this video is when it starts
I forgot how depressing TNA was at this time.
Straight up, you got me. Halfway through thinking 'well that's not a Samoan Dro....oh he's gonna smack me one'
Drew buffed up big time since his early first run in wwe years ago. He did not do much in tna other than some really fun matches with Lashley, but the rest were forgettable. Since coming back to wwe he has been just another muscle guy in tights with basic promo ability. Giving him a sword to swing around just goes to show he needs any help he can get, even silly props. I really wish he would just be booked as either a serious tag team with someone like Ciampa, who is very similar, or as just an enforcer/bodyguard to a bigger name.
3:48 drew did infact cut low ki behind the ear when he swung the pipe. I cant remember if it was tnas official twitter or low ki himself, but there was a picture showing the cut released back then.
Yea I have to be careful with showing too much violence now annoyingly
The rising is actually a good name
Jeff Jarrett having Guitar Hero graphics in 2015 is great heel heat
It is crazy because if those 3 started a faction today, they would've dominated any promotion they were in.
Finally my vote came true...
When you do a cold opening it reminds me if Holly from Red Dwarf was into pro wrestling just because you are trying not to look extremely disappointed or interested
A Samoan Drop is not the same as a Celtic Cross AKA White Noise AKA whatever. Smack me with a brick or whatever catchphrase you got up your sleeve nowadays. Anyway, at least Drew around this time got better in the ring and had good matches with Lashley and Kurt Angle. 2015 to 2017 were such nothing years for TNA. 2018 was where TNA turned it around thankfully.
Oh yeah, 2019 was really good year for Impact
I'd say the Celtic Cross is 45º off, not 2.
Yeah Drew needed a place like TNA/Impact too reinvent himself and, really, become more polished as a performer.
His work in ICW was far better.
He got his wwf champ belt during the first Corona wrestlemania *that sums up his career, 3 man band was his highlight*
He's about to beat Reigns in one of the biggest shows of the year.
What are you on about mate. He's a 2x WWE champ and on his way to become champion a third time
The submission he used on Kurt Angle was pretty cool. Like a cross face variation
13:26 stomping is way better than " 1 2 3" thing. He should use this again
the move drew did off the top rope is not a Samoan drop its the Avalanche Air Raid Crash.
There’s that guy 😂
@@Markyd123I love your stuff man keep up the good work.
