I actually forgot two products I wanted to talk about!🤦‍♀ The MAKE Beauty Multi-Chromatic eyeshadows...I tried them in a video and they were some of the most beautiful eyeshadows ever, but they faded SUPER fast, within a couple of hours. I was so disappointed in those.
Also the new Huda Beauty Faux Filler lip glosses were too thick and goopy, they got all over my teeth and they made those "strings" between your lips when I would talk. They also didn't seem to "fill" or plump my lips either.

I completely understand where your thoughts are coming from and I agree with what you said, I’m Canadian and Brow products we run through pretty quickly I’ve never had a NYX Lift and Snatch pen last me as long as yours do . I get about 5 weeks but I also build my Brow from very little to start with, here I pay 15,99 for just 1 NYX pen and the LA Girl is only 7 ,69 and last the same amount of time I think you might have had a bad one TBH . So for me the choice is obvious what I’m going to choose as anything even remotely Beauty related here is double if not triple the cost in the States, also we only get if we’re lucky about half of what the Brand offers in the States IF the Brand is even available here we get the very short end of the stick when it comes to what’s available here in any category. Most ppl right away go to “ well you have free healthcare “ actually no we don’t our taxes pay for it that’s why Canada is one of the top most heavily taxed Countries and only a few things are “ free” we have to pay for any type of therapy whether it be Phyiso , Chiropractic, Dermatologist, Dentist, Pediatrist, among many others. We say goodbye to a minimum of 33% of our paycheck to just Federal Income Tax that’s not any other deductions or taxes on absolutely everything we buy , im not saying Americans do not pay high taxes I know you do but everyone thinks Canada has it better and I’m here to tell you NO we don’t lol . I’d love to have the things available to us that’s available for Americans especially the advantages in Healthcare I have Chronic Health issues and the medications that would really benefit me are not available to Canadians nor is the quality of medical care, we get the Drs and Surgeons that have been sued to many times or lost their ability to Practice in the States they come and Practice here because they can and here NOBODY can sue for ANYTHING absolutely NOTHING! A Muppets is running the Country making us a huge laughing stock our Countries are Neighbors but also extremely different and as an outsider looking in I can see so much more available in every category, but I’m sure it’s the same for those looking at us as a Canadian we’ve had to learn so much about America but American never had to learn about us , I’ve often wondered why that is , anyway I’m positive you don’t really care LOL this was about the cost of a Brow Pen which I have to order online because not sold in any Stores in my City LA Girl is not available anywhere in my Province I’m not sure if it’s available in other Provinces TBH I have to order it off of IHerb it’s not even on our Amazon which is also extremely different than the American Amazon same goes for Walmart two completely different Stores in each Country. Anyway I’m sorry for my thought vomit .

I often wonder how an eyeshadow eyeshadow would fade without rubbing your eyes or sweat/rain. Your hair is looking top notch. What are you doing with it.

Hi Jen, thanks for the video. I like these periodic "disappointing product" videos as opposed to doing a big round up at the end of the year. That's a long time to wait, and possible purchases made without knowing any better. I do have a thought as to what the purpose of the new Milk primer is...boosting the brand's bottom line!
Also, I see you're wearing Laura Geller products in this video. Can we look forward to a review video? I'm especially interested in your thoughts on the Baked Powder Foundation. I see this advertised a lot as being good for "mature" skin, but I'm skeptical as to how well a powder foundation works on dry skin. Assuming that's what they mean by mature; some people do have oily skin through old age.

  • @katherinefuller5267

Haven’t tried these but love getting these round up videos so I know what not to waste my money on. Having the information come from someone that isn’t sponsored is huge, and we have the same age skin and skin type (dry). Unrelated, I think this is the prettiest color, cut, and style hair I’ve seen on Jen 🤩

Exactly not being Sponsored EVER in this Industry is something to be commended and we know for certain that the opinions are absolutely genuine, it takes a certain special people to say No Thank You to the massive amounts of money that is being made in Sponsored and Partnerships like literally Hundreds of Thousands to Millions with the huge Creators . We also know those huge Creators especially over on TikTok lie about Sponsored Content and their opinions change depending on if they’re getting paid, we see it over and over again from the same handfuls of ppl , what are they going to do IF that App is banned or IF the FTC starts to crack down in North America.

As a 53 yr old with, well 53 yr old looking skin, I have found that base serums & thin skin tints are no friend of mine. They sink in & magnify every pore, line, and teensiest dry patches. Tinted moisturizers, I believe, deliver a similar product - the ultra light skin tint- within a nice moisturizing & smoothing core formula, esp one with silicones. The difference has been amazing. I gave up on all base products until I found bare minerals complexion gel & Neutrogena healthy skin anti-a perfector. I tried quite a few less expensive ones but nothing less costly than the Neutrogena has looked natural, fixed my skin texture appearance, and evened out the tone. My big sunspot isn't concealed at all, but it's barely noticeable with the light zhuzz of color that balances my splotchiness. Granted, sun damage is almost "cute" in Montana esp among queer gals, so I look outdoorsy which is good lol. But honestly, these skin tints seem best for skin with amazing smoothness - but I think a nice somewhat fluffy tinted moisturizer would give most people a nice alternative if they share my un-smooth texture lol

Even if the title is something that doesn’t seem like something I’m interested in (like products I wasn’t thinking about), I still always watch and usually end up hearing about something I want to try or, even if I don’t, I just enjoy watching it!

This video just confirms one of the many reasons I love your channel with the wear tests and updates - Most of these products you said how much you INITIALLY liked/loved it when first applied but then for whatever reason, either at end of day after a wear test after trying it for a bit (like with the LA Girl Brow Pen dried out). So many BGs just do FIRST impressions with no wear test, say how much they LOVE it, and you never hear about it again - either not using it again since they always try new stuff so don’t know if it’s because of that or if they just didn’t like it after using it for a bit and/or never giving updates.

I really hate when drugstore brands go for those thin, powdery formulas like those LA girl palettes. They're soft but have no pigment or staying power. Boo. I knew that I had to wait for your review of the new Flower beauty blushes before buying. I'm so glad I did.

I was just going to leave a comment about the eye shadow palette from Laura Gellar that was used. I went to check it out. Wouldn't you know. I just saw this one and another at Marshall's over the weekend. They're selling for $14.99. If you have a Marshall's nearby go check there first. I've purchased 2 of her palettes at TJ Maxx in the past. They're not those types of shadows that give you a lot of bang right off the bat but they do create some very nice, mellow looks. Hope you're able to find one if you are interested... 👍

I was going to suggest she try a brush as well. The one time I did apply a blush with my fingers was the last time. The product was the Maybelline heat blushes. Not the full name but they're the ones that come in a squeezey tube. It disappeared just like she experienced but when I use the #7 brush from IT Cosmetics I had no problem with the application. Can't hurt to try it that way before she gets rid of them, right? 🤷‍♀️

Essence makes a dupe for Benefits brow mascara (is it called "Gimme Brow"? I can't remember the name. Anyway....) and it's really fabulous. I have so many brow products--i used to have great brows, but as I've aged, they've got lighter and lighter, and I still have good amount of brow hair. It's just almost transparent . (Gotta love being blonde...) The Essence brow mascaras are really good, they are cooler in tone than nearly any other brow products, and they don't give you crunchy brows.

I did notice that it broke up around my nose area which can be an issue except it was really noticeable with both. It’s fine for a weekend foundation but not a 10 hour workday in my experience. I also don’t think it’s a dupe for IT cosmetics CC. I love that product and the CC Nude Glow.

I’m sad cause I got that new NYX bronzer in Deserve Betta and I loved the formula but the color just had a tint of red that didn’t look good on my light/med skin tone. I sent it to my daughter. I hope they get them in stores to look at the shades cause the formula was so nice. Oh and I also picked up 3 shades of the Too Faced blushes too and I’m loving them, half price too. Thank you Jen❤

In your opinion, for more mature skin that's a little on the drier side ( I'm 55), what is the best cream and or liquid bronzer and blush? Are any high end products better than drug store? What is the best of both; is there a product that's just the best in your opinion? I do have texture, and my skin tone is pretty good, but a little uneven as most people have. I’ve had terrible foundation days…even with Lancôme, NARS and Estée Lauder. Yesterday I had a great foundation day with kopari sunscreen and purlisse cc cream. 🤞🏻this is the winning combo. I did order Clinique foundation because I’ve never tried it. I’m so pale that shade matching is an issue. Your content is sooooo good.

I also tried the LA girl nude eyeshadow palettes, and I did not care for them. The mattes were not too bad, but the shimmers were not pigmented and dry and chalky. I don't care for the glitter topper eyeshadows, they are not pigmented. Elf and wet n wild eyeshadows are so much better.

I saw a video recently talking about makeup trends for gen z, and it talked about how their eye shadows are less harsh, and a bit more subtle. More seamlessly blended and upturned. So, maybe that is coming through in those palettes (it is being marketed to give a more subtle look because that is on trend).
Not sure but was just a thought.
I appreciate your comment too about maybe they just didn't play nice with you. Some of the color might show up more on other skin tones. 🤷‍♀️

From experience I haven’t found any “glowing” anything in makeup in the “drugstore” category! Everything that glows in the beginning doesn’t last for more than 5 minutes! Unless your skin is so hydrated that it shines! Then any makeup will look dewy or glowing on your skin! I guess if a high end one makes your skin look like that then it’s worth the splurge! 😮

Jen, you look great in this video. Like, you've gotta Jennifer Aniston/Avril Lavigne look going on. I love it!
Now, on another note, I love your honesty when it comes to your reviews. So many influencers make so many ridiculous claims that do nothing more than disappoint their viewers`and I dont appreciate that. I hardly ever buy products that influencers recommend or review because of what I observe with the products in their videos. There might be a few things I'll get, but its all based on what I observe, the price, and its uniqueness. What may look great on someone else may not look great on me. I know what I like, what I prefer, and what I will use. With that said, I enjoy trying new things as well. I agree these products are overrated and disappointing.

I can’t tolerate blushes that go on sheer. On my skin tone, they truly do not show up. I also have become wary of certain inexpensive brow and eyeliner products that have so little product in them they are gone right away. No matter how inexpensive they are, they are their own kind of rip off.
