The gameplay is basically a improved version of FGO, and unlike fate, MagiReco had a Pit Counter and gems are much easier to get, if you spent 100 rolls with gems in a single banner the 100th roll will be a 100% guaranted 4* character, 4* is the max rarity in the gacha
Define good. It's definitely more casual-friendly than Aniplex's other gacha game, FGO. Upgrading girls still takes time, especially if you just started, but it's definitely easier considering that very few girls use finite resources (and these girls are always event-limited in first place), everything else farmable. And let's not forget you actually have an auto option to have AI take over for you. It might not be as complex but it's not necessarily bad.
What's the drop rate fro rare cards? I recently play Bandori; the gacha rate is good & all but to collect the whole band 4* cards isn't an easy task. Luckily free stars are a thing & event prizes aren't that hard to come by.

The gacha is more forgiving, the animations are top notch (Especially the transformation scene), the bgm are pure epic (Just listen to "Cross-Connection" and "Event Challenge" bgm). FGO only strong point is the story, which MagiReco also good at.
In case anyone is still confused: this game/anime takes place after Madoka becomes a god in episode 12. It’s set in an alternate timeline/universe that is an anomaly (basically it shouldn’t exist) caused by Homura’s constant time looping. Madokami can not interfere with this universe or see its future which is why witches still exist. The Madoka and Homura in this story are them in a different universe/timeline. This is before Rebellion, as Madoka is still the law of cycles.

Not sure if this Dopple thing is related or meant as a unintentionally connection but wouldn’t this be exactly what Sayaka and Nagisa did in Rebellion against Homura’s Witch? When Sayaka summoned Oktavia and Nagisa borrowed traits from Charlotte. Since they pretty much came to terms with their despair and would allow them to have access to their Witch Forms.
I always thought of those two as having reached a "paradise" created by Madoka for the magical girls who become a witch. It's possible that the only way Madoka can interfere in this universe is to create this sort of loophole for despairing magical girls so they don't die as witches.
A doppel is basically a controlled witch, so what sayaka did during the movie. In the game its shown as a transformation move that lasts a turn I think, I havent had a chance to try it out myself. But its really cool
I know this is a 2 months old comment but I'm still going to reply. It's kinda yes and not, while it is a "controllable witch." it is a lot weaker than a real witch and also using a doppel uses a lot of strength so it is kinda a last-resort move.
Probably not. All Magi Madoka games have always been only Japanese and forever will be, even the oldest of them all like Magi Madoka on psp and ps vita. A shame tho
FGO EN released two years after the JP version, so it wouldn't be out of sorts to assume MagiaRecord will do the same. I saw one comment on Reddit that was saying the entire marketing campaign for MR is closely matching how FGO's went.
Magia Record was just released in China as part of it's one year anniversary, and it similarly took FGO one year to launch in China. It took 2 years for NA to get GO, so here's hoping we'll get Magia Record in 2019.

That concept trailer got everyone super hyped, but that was years ago and we've gotten no word since then. What's also disappointing about this is the fact that Magia Record has no North American release and we have no way of knowing if there will ever be one., and the prospect of one doesn't seem too good since none of the prior games have ever been released here. Don't get me wrong, I'm not upset that they're adapting this into an anime, but the handling of the Madoka Magica ip hasn't been the best since Rebellion's release, at least in North America. We haven't gotten any of the games, and while we have gotten most of the spinoff manga, to the best of my knowledge we have yet to get a translation of Wraith Arc which is arguably the most important since it bridges the gap between the main series and Rebellion.

Homucifer conquers the Universe and forces everyone to live happily ever after, whether they want to or not. However I cannot make any kind of informed opinion regarding Magia Record because--you know--I can't actually see it for myself to judge.

Maybe this is to gauge the interest for the franchise and potentially to raise funds for the sequel to Rebellion. I wouldn't go so far to say I am hyped, though I am looking forward to it. I found it funny when people accused Gen Urobuchi of lying because he said he'd do his best to give Madoka a happy ending. I think he was honest in a way. Compared to Fate/Zero for example, Madoka's bitter-sweet ending is very happy indeed. ^^
So... they took the thing all the girls that had died in the main series could do in Rebellion ...and made it a straight up thing you can do as a game mechanic? cool. Witch form stands, I'm down
Am I the only one who feels like Madoka lost its magic? I really enjoyed the original series but everything feels like fan-service to me after it... where as in the original show, it felt like an intentional misdirect... now everything is over the top fan service for no reason to be since the true nature of the show was already revealed.
I have never had the opportunity to play the game (because Japanese and shit) and neither did I search for summaries or anything (I like to come to anything without previous knowledge of it). I heard your description of the prologue and... holy hell, I think there's an even bigger motive to make it an anime series (aside from money related or building up hype for the sequel to Rebellion). Well, since they have the ability to summon their witch form (and allegedly we will see the witch form of Kyoko, Mami, and Madoka in action [we have already seen Homura's and Sayaka's in the movie]) I think they could tied up those things into the sequel of Rebellion with everyone being able to control their witches form without affecting the pace with any explanation (we already have the basis from this series). Plus, the "fairies" mentioned in the Concept Movie Trailer might just be some of this magical girls which they will introduce. Mmmmm... fuck I can't wait for more.
Sayaka and Nagisa were similar to Madoka in Rebellion, as they're no longer the equivalent of Magical Girls but more like concepts or goddesses. So this new Dopple idea isn't related and would be a brand new concept. I have a feeling this will just be a pure spin off.

No i really want a continue of Rebellion, i thought they never would never make new manga or anime. i love some of the side stories they created using Homuras time ability they think they can do what ever, also in the new circle the great Madoka makes removes her time ability, but in one side story in wrath edition she alters her own memory as it becomes the replacement of her time ability. I was hoping for more devil Homura, but her side stories are limitless story ideas!! it is heart breaking knowing she has gone back in time so many times to save and alter her fate creating her power great enough to make that wish, like just the idea of what she has seen and experiences in different times is crazy. continue of the story would be hard but amazing. but they could make more wrath stories, as there is no build up to her getting to the point of running to the desert leading to Rebellion. they showed her at the end briefly but that could just be a start that has the story lead to it. there are so many great mangas, of her time in new circle law or before. but they choose a random time she had skipped through. i feel a lead up to Rebellion or continue of the end, i honesty feel this is just a way to make more characters from games to anime to re stimulate old fans for money, it better be well thought out and pose further anime and manga. i honesty just loved this story and the emotion of the characters conflicts. i hope for more fan manga. but i will be pissed if there isnt a continue of Rebellion, a series like the first would be great, the combination of it into two movies left to much emotion out. sorry for the rant just getting my hype on and hope for a new series after, they have plenty of manga to choose for a in between, or just to lead up too QP experiment.
Doppel comes with a cost (not explained until way later in the story), there's new enemies called Rumors, and game continually adds full voice-overs to all existing main story chapters. Get hype, Magia Record is great and the story is intriguing.

@MahouShoujo Maisoon my issue with that idea though, is that they can't possibly have all of the possible meguca from the game involved in the show, otherwise we're left wondering how the hell there are enough grief seeds for all of them. And while it's fair to let the quintet go, and your complaints about the ships fairly valid, they left off with a fairly ambiguous and shaky ending in rebellion. Then they only exacerbated the issue with the release of the concept video, which appeared to promise some kind of finale to the madohomu arc. Although I may hate homura after rebellion, I find your comment about other meguca suffering more than her slightly overblown. And I would love to see some kind of resolution to the story as a whole.

Just finished the original anime and im pretty much traumatized, im not even kidding that series gave me the chills.
Maybe this is to gauge the interest for the franchise and potentially to raise funds for the sequel to Rebellion.
I wouldn't go so far to say I am hyped, though I am looking forward to it.
I found it funny when people accused Gen Urobuchi of lying because he said he'd do his best to give Madoka a happy ending. I think he was honest in a way. Compared to Fate/Zero for example, Madoka's bitter-sweet ending is very happy indeed. ^^

So an entire Anime set before Homura became a sociopathic yandere? That doesn't sound bad. Nice Homura is pretty rare.

I really enjoyed the original series but everything feels like fan-service to me after it... where as in the original show, it felt like an intentional misdirect... now everything is over the top fan service for no reason to be since the true nature of the show was already revealed.

I have never had the opportunity to play the game (because Japanese and shit) and neither did I search for summaries or anything (I like to come to anything without previous knowledge of it). I heard your description of the prologue and... holy hell, I think there's an even bigger motive to make it an anime series (aside from money related or building up hype for the sequel to Rebellion).
Well, since they have the ability to summon their witch form (and allegedly we will see the witch form of Kyoko, Mami, and Madoka in action [we have already seen Homura's and Sayaka's in the movie]) I think they could tied up those things into the sequel of Rebellion with everyone being able to control their witches form without affecting the pace with any explanation (we already have the basis from this series).
Plus, the "fairies" mentioned in the Concept Movie Trailer might just be some of this magical girls which they will introduce.
Mmmmm... fuck I can't wait for more.

Sayaka and Nagisa were similar to Madoka in Rebellion, as they're no longer the equivalent of Magical Girls but more like concepts or goddesses. So this new Dopple idea isn't related and would be a brand new concept. I have a feeling this will just be a pure spin off.
I think what they’re doing is, to see if people are still on the madoka hype train and if this adaption of the mobile game is good, then we can probably see the concept movie/ a sequel to rebellion

No i really want a continue of Rebellion, i thought they never would never make new manga or anime. i love some of the side stories they created using Homuras time ability they think they can do what ever, also in the new circle the great Madoka makes removes her time ability, but in one side story in wrath edition she alters her own memory as it becomes the replacement of her time ability. I was hoping for more devil Homura, but her side stories are limitless story ideas!! it is heart breaking knowing she has gone back in time so many times to save and alter her fate creating her power great enough to make that wish, like just the idea of what she has seen and experiences in different times is crazy. continue of the story would be hard but amazing. but they could make more wrath stories, as there is no build up to her getting to the point of running to the desert leading to Rebellion. they showed her at the end briefly but that could just be a start that has the story lead to it. there are so many great mangas, of her time in new circle law or before. but they choose a random time she had skipped through. i feel a lead up to Rebellion or continue of the end, i honesty feel this is just a way to make more characters from games to anime to re stimulate old fans for money, it better be well thought out and pose further anime and manga. i honesty just loved this story and the emotion of the characters conflicts. i hope for more fan manga. but i will be pissed if there isnt a continue of Rebellion, a series like the first would be great, the combination of it into two movies left to much emotion out. sorry for the rant just getting my hype on and hope for a new series after, they have plenty of manga to choose for a in between, or just to lead up too QP experiment.

Doppel comes with a cost (not explained until way later in the story), there's new enemies called Rumors, and game continually adds full voice-overs to all existing main story chapters. Get hype, Magia Record is great and the story is intriguing.

@MahouShoujo Maisoon my issue with that idea though, is that they can't possibly have all of the possible meguca from the game involved in the show, otherwise we're left wondering how the hell there are enough grief seeds for all of them. And while it's fair to let the quintet go, and your complaints about the ships fairly valid, they left off with a fairly ambiguous and shaky ending in rebellion. Then they only exacerbated the issue with the release of the concept video, which appeared to promise some kind of finale to the madohomu arc. Although I may hate homura after rebellion, I find your comment about other meguca suffering more than her slightly overblown. And I would love to see some kind of resolution to the story as a whole.
