Carys. Harvard University gives a magistral lesson. The speaker is a teacher and classes take place in the Assembly Halls, for a while I have seen and listened to the speeches' teacher. The language is absolutely academic speaking, barely showing up idioms or phrasal verbs. Of course, Binomial pairs don't speak by speakers. I catch up most of the speeches, of course with subtle.
There is a lot of stuff that makes phrasal verbs tricky. Understanding if they are transitive, or intransitive, separable or inseparable will tell you a lot about how to use them correctly, but by far the best way, as Carys mentioned, is to learn them in context through immersion in English!
