Thanks guys, not many atv tutorials around. Dad just got a quad and I ride dirt bikes so can only teach him so much which only comes from my logic and transferring from dirtbike to atv, not actual experience. Hopefully he learns a thing or two :)
The dunes is an amazing place to ride! Safety at the dunes is the biggest issue so please be cautious. There are so many large vehicles out there, head on collisions are a real issue, the smaller riders (ATV and Dirtbikes) are the ones who loose that battle. If you’re going to play around in an area, scope it out first, find all the razorbacks and water holes, other riders and side-by-sides before opening that throttle wide open. Having a spotter on a hilltop when jumping is a must. Having high speed is pretty much a necessity to stay on top of the sand, which makes blind corners and hilltops dangerous as other riders are also doing the same. The dunes is a blast! But please be safe out there! PS. did you guys get to try riding dirt bikes out there? Way different experiences
Sand tires are not necessary, especially for beginner riders who are just getting into sand riding. You can see in this video that the quads were running stock tires and got around great. What sand tires and pressure do you recommend?
