Between 1502 and 1866, of the 11.2 million Africans taken, only 388,000 arrived in North America. The rest went to Brazil, the European colonies in the Caribbean, and Spanish territories in Central and South America, in that order. These slaves were brought as early as the 16th and 17th centuries.

Not denying the shipwreck part, but It’s bigger than a shipwreck. Mexico was a Slave Colony during the Transatlantic slave trade era bringing many Africans to Mexico during that time. European colonialism led to many of the Native Mexican people being mixed with European, and then with there being a small percentage of Africans in Mexico there could have been some mixing there too. That’s why today we see Mexicans of all shades, some that look like Canelo Alvarez, and some that look like the guy in this video, but they both have Mexican heritage. Mexico is a Country, not a Race. There's only one Race when talking about Humans. That's the Human Race. All members of the Human Race can have intercourse and produce fertal offspring. This makes us all one Race or one Species. That means we are all related. We all have a common Ancestor. The majority of those who claim to be Mexican are truly converted Native-Americans who were forced into following Catholicism. Also, during US Slavery, many US Slaves escaped to Mexico when Mexico ended Slavery in Mexico. And, don't forget about the Seminole Native-Americans who were composed of a lot of escaped Black, African Slaves and Native Born Native-Americans. They moved to Mexico from Florida, also... So, possibly, Mexico should have a larger population of African Descendants than the US.
I’m Chicano means I was born here in the us but my parents are from Mexico. People don’t realize Africans that Mexicans are African descent as well tiny percentage

Gaspar Yanga - often simply Yanga or Nyanga (May 14, 1545 - 1618) was an African who led a Maroon colony of enslaved Africans in the highlands near Veracruz, Mexico (then New Spain) during the early period of Spanish colonial rule. He successfully resisted a Spanish attack on the colony in 1609. The maroons continued their raids on Spanish settlements.
About 5% of Africans brought to the Americas were brought to modern-day Mexico. That is why there is a relatively small but not-non-existent population of people of African descent in Mexico today.

He successfully resisted a Spanish attack on the colony in 1609. The maroons continued their raids on Spanish settlements.
