How can a Black man in America stay true to his essence and find joy. Frankie has had ups and downs, but he has not changed who he is. Maze was never acknowledged for their success by outsiders, but whenever he tours which is regularly, WE show up to dance, sing and remember almost 50 years of loving this band. I'm now 70 and still grooving to this same music I listened to on a Saturday morning getting my house together 50 years ago ... I can still feel some of my favorite Frankie/Maze songs take over and make me bust out a move or two -- sometimes with my vacuum cleaner in hand. There are just so few of the true MEMORY MAKERS left. Frankie stayed true and remains the truth! I still have a sweat stained traditional white T-shirt Frankie threw me off stage in Rochester NY just 10 years ago! (haha in plastic bag now) Loved him then, loved him back in the day and that day is still going ... today!
I feel you. It's just like that. When I want to listen to some music to this day, I'll play some Maze. That's it, and that's all I need.

I've been to 3 of Frankie's concerts. My first was at Constitution Hall, DC 1981 or 2. He had a standing-room audience mesmerized. The Brothers were swirling like the Sisters left to right with our hands out. It was a magical moment. I'll never forget that experience. We were saying Frankie, Frankie swerving even the Brothers, emphatically.

@Kurt Adams I liked the name "Raw Soul" before Marvin Gaye told them to change the band's name because he thought "Raw Soul" was an ugly name. Me, personally, I really liked the name because Frankie and Maze always kept their music real. The band never sold out for the money. They stayed true to their game, and not to the industry's game. 😘 Much respect for "Raw Soul." I still love me some Frankie Beverly and Maze though, either way. 😘

Going to a Frank B show was a spiritual experience. My higher self took its place for many days after the god spell that he raised. When he was show nuff in the groove he would say “ah bless your heart now.” Already told my sister that at the celebration of my victory over this plain I want “Golden Time of the Day” to be played.
