- So, lots of people have been craving an affordable headless guitar for all of three months now. Upon some searching I stumbled across this. Let's see what's inside!
Thats beautiful. I want one and your playing, those bends made me smile.
very good perspective on guitar manufacturers/manufacturing. love the vid
Very informative video man, thanks! Thinking of getting myself on aswell :)
That would be awesome
Soulhenge Gear Reviews you made me get the grote.....get this one .. mine is on its way haha
@@scotty88lp how's the grote?
@@astonewall.912 I actually sold it for the nk ...nk is miles better feeling and looking
Epic review thanks!!!! getting one for sure!!!
Great Demo. Sounds like a hell of a guitar for the price, you definitely influenced my decision to buy yet another guitar 😂
Thanks for the review. I just bought the purple/black burst, ash model. I am a luthier, so I will be replacing the pickups with pickups I designed and wind in my shop. I am also going to re-level the fingerboard and fret with EVO fret wire.
Great review man. You should make more vids!
Good video man.. Just got one of these..I think they have improved since this was posted.. While the one I just got wasn't perfect or anything.. It was definitely outstanding for the price..ive heard mixed reviews about these but I think I got lucky with mine.. It really is a great guitar
Have you made this into an actual full song yet? I really really really love it!!!
You made me buy one can't wait for it to arrive :D
Cecche's Psyche Electronic Music haha awesome man, I hope it's as nice as mine is
I got a purple NK headless and it's one of my favorite guitars. After a basic set up it plays amazing. Frets were great on mine right from the factory. Doesn't feel cheap at all. Quite the opposite.
I have the same exact model down to color scheme. Awesome axe for the money!!!
I guess I'm gonna have to get one.. Haha Great video, dude!
Wow the back of that neck is beautiful. I find headless guitars odd looking but damn that neck!!
Great video! Could you do a video on changing strings in this please? I got one and i love it!! But now its time to change the strings n i still dont know how! Thanks!!
Rock On!! 🤘🏻
as it sounds clean and that improvements primarily for this guitar
you play the guitar very well
Thank you
nice video. going to get one. Thanks!
Got one in January. Wasn't expecting much, but it really impressed me, i will probably replace the pick ups soon
Hey man , nice video! What you think about the freets is it good enough to shreed or play live?
Fantastic intro!
Did you have any problems with shipping...any extra charges? How long did it take to receive it?
Great info in the vid too and your playing in the beginning!!
Did you had any problems with the customs? i live in germany and i'm interested, but i think that it can maybee have problems with the arriving. Or is this not a big problem?
Can you post the seller link or ID?
Im considering buying one. It's cheaper than a headless guitar kit.
Any plans on changing the pickups?
I thinking on putting EMGs 81/85 like Bratta did on the Steinbergers.
Just dropping in again to request the intro to become a full song 😉
Cool demo song! Makes me want to buy one :D
I just ordered the EART headless for my Christmas present! Can't wait to compare it to my $7000 DeLap Baritone! HA! (I'm serious! .... about the EART! .... and the DeLap!) It's natural and has the newer style killer bridge (trem style) as I guess everyone despises the grote style hardtail they were using in 2018 and before. I'll also be comparing it to my custom FRETSONG spalted black limba headless! Looking forward to making music with a new instrument! Thanks for the awesome review!
I just got one too...should be arriving in two days, pretty excited too! Have you received yours yet?
I ordered one! Only a month until it gets here!
What kind of effects do you use in the background?:( (in the intro)
What is the bridge.... is it a tremelo, full floating etc???? Would be cool if you posted a string change.
so... what do you think about the guitar after you owned it for few weeks?
How's the string action? Are you able to get it pretty low with little to no fret buzz?
Can you easily change the pickups with something like Seymour Duncan humbuckers? Or are the cavities non standard due to it being made in China
Some of the eBay listings show stainless steel frets. Do you know if all of their guitars have them, or if it's even true at all?
the bridge can it be change by a hipshot bridge or something good?
You made me put up my Kramer Assault Plus FR for sale on friday night, 2 days later one guy bought it. Tomorrow I'm gonna order one of these. :D But with fluorescent inlays and non painted neck.. I'm in love with this color.... Thank you very much!
Is there anywhere you can still get these for $270? The ones on ebay now seem to be around $400
these guitars look really good, am thinking of getting one; the have a veneer though; it's not a top
Damn, they make headless basses too?
Do you have problem with tuner ? It must use hex key all the time ?
Is the neck only one piece or does it have multiple pieces?
So I'm interested in buying one. I wanted to know how do you put the strings through and adjust the intonation/neck? And hows the action?
how much does it weigh ? what are your thoughts after a year or so ?
Good demo, any idea of fretboard radius & fretwire facts/ dimensions? THX.
SLAMSTERDAMN hey man, I don't know the radius unfortunately or if the frets are jumbo/medium, what have you. It's a 25.5 scale length, and the frets feel like Jumbo's to me. But that's all I know, sorry.
David McDaniel; Cool, I found out they’re 12” radius; be Very Well.
Can I just buy this and play straight away? I don't wanna deal with things to be "fixed", fretboard, intonation etc..
Love your song
Nice review, David. Awesome guitar skills and playing, too! How much does the guitar weigh?
Thanks man. I believe it was something like 6 pounds, but I don't recall what it said. It's really quite light though, noticeably light compared to any of my others.
Thank you for the review! Just found these recently as well and getting one soon. I've noticed most of their bridge pickups are a bit far from the bridge though, does it affect the tone a lot personally for you?
Yeah, I've noticed that too and I was curious about it before I got it. I don't really hear anything that's not bridge-y in the bridge pickup. It's sharp, has good mid-range and punch, but I will say it doesn't seem to be particularly harsh or high voiced I guess. This is an entirely digital mix, and I've always had trouble taming that high end in mixes that djenty guitars kind of produce, whereas this guy seems more in the low mids and doesn't have any of that 10-20k iciness. No complaints here, but I can't say that it's due to the placement, might just be the combination of pickups and wood.
David McDaniel awesome, good to know. I've also read online that the owner takes requests such as moving the pickups and other small details, but figured I'd ask on the rare chance he stops doing that before I get my hands on one. Hope it keeps playing great, thanks!
I saw one of those in lazada here in the phillppines. Im planning on ordering one. Was action low when you unboxed it bro? Or there were still some adjustments needed to be done? Before using it
kamusta namn ung order mo dude . aus ba yung guitar ?
Thanks for the video! Cool opening track! I've researched these before. I've been hesitant because, like you've said, it's from China and I'm extremely skeptical about the bridge in terms of playing comfort and tuning stability. I'd be interested to see how you feel about the bridge comfort and tuning in more detail. All the best!
Chris Andros thank you. Yeah, that's fair. Give me a while and I'll get back to you. It is going out of tune a lot, but I just changed the strings and I haven't played more than about 2 hours on it, about 15 minutes since I changed them.
Of all the more affordable headless guitars that I've researched, the NK seem to be the best made. I dig the look, love the specs and features. But I keep reading about tuning stability (guitar constantly going out of tune), how much of a pain it is to tune using that bridge and overall comfort of that bridge. Despite all of that, at approximately $300 USD, the guitar still seems to be a bargain for what you get. Costs of replacement bridges seem to be around the same cost of the guitar brand new! All of that to say that I'm curious to hear more on how you feel about that bridge and tuning stability. All the best!
Chris Andros it goes out of tune a fair amount. That's fair. It's not as bad as it was when I first got it though, I think the strings just take a bit to break in. But yeah, it does out of tune a good amount, and tuning up is a little inconvenient with the little device, but you can tune up with your hands instead, it's just not as intricate as the device-so instead of going from like, E to F with a little turn of the peg, it skyrockets up to F#. It's really not that bad though, but I'm sure a Strandberg would hold a lot better.
Just bought a nk same as yours but red, let’s see how it goes lol
Duuude!! What was that sick song at the intro?? Is that your own composition or a cover?? Sounds so awesome! ☺
Hey man thanks! It's just some riffing I came up with for the video.
Super nice review. A gate would go a long way on your room mic.
Nathan Holmes oh good call, never thought of that. Thanks!
i gotta find a job and order one asap
nice review, i am seriously afraid of getting on of those becuese of 2 reasons.
1. the bridge - and if i need to replace it and the tuning stability of it (changing a bridge is actually Really difficult) and How the hell do you change strings on this corrent bridge
2. shipping says it will arrive in 2-3 months
anything you can help me with it?
I dont really use instagram, is there any other way to contact you?
i kind of ordered one from ebay already, not really living in the us
really solid tone! could you share your signal chain?
Alberto Luciani thanks man! I'm using Overloud TH3 in that demo. There's a metal pack that's $89, and it's a really good and underrated VST, I highly recommend it. I was using the Mesa and the green screamer.
How about tuning stability and intonation setup?
I can answer this. I own one NK as well for the last 4 months and to be honest, it holds the tuning better than my Ibanez Iron Label 7 for example. Intonation, eh, I dunno, it's OK but not as perfect (I do have a feel scale is just a bit shorter than it should be and that's why it's harder to intonate). I get just a few frets intonation off by 3-5 cents, and it's above 14. fret. One thing I needed to do though after getting a guitar. Replace the nut. It was too low set and was buzzing at first fret ... I bought the graphite nut and sanded it down, replaced the "bone" nut (which I really think is just a plastic one), and after doing the rest of the setup all was good. So there you go. One thing I'm going to do is get some better passive pickups, and all good (I wouldn't spend more than 200$ for them though :) ).
Still waiting for that intro to become a full song :-D
You prolly dont care at all but does anybody know of a method to log back into an instagram account..?
I was dumb lost my password. I would appreciate any help you can give me!
@Philip Angelo Instablaster =)
@Khalid Graysen Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Khalid Graysen It worked and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much you really help me out !
@Philip Angelo happy to help =)
Just bought one ....and I'm a blues guy haha
Me too & me too. I promise to put up a review for the blues guys when I receive.
@@jayspeee4867 well where’s the review
Any modifications
Great video! Really convinced me to buy one. Is it the same size as a strandberg guitar? Also, what about the weight compared to a strandberg? Is it handy? Because I want it to travel and tour basically
Thanks dude. Honestly I haven't any idea, never played a Strandberg, but it wasn't as light as my Kiesel Osiris which I think is a little heavier than a Strandy
Cool! Could you tell me the length of the guitar? And the weight?
How big is it? I heard its a little small. What's the scale length and the full length of the guitar?
Lord of Deathcore it's kinda small, but it's not that small. It's basically a regular guitar size but without a headstock, which makes surprising size difference. 25.5 scale length, no clue the length of the whole thing but I'm sure it's on their online store and what not.
Do you need double-ball strings or can you use regular strings?
You do use normal strings
Been reading up on these and am thinking of ordering 1 of the red ones from Aliexpress for 300$ or so, would you say a good set up and maybe a pickup swap would make these guitars have a lot of potential?..
Definitely. I'm getting mine out of the shop tomorrow, with new pickups and a set up, and I'm stoked.
Hey! You have defo influenced my
Decision on buying one, can you do another video after getting it upgraded? Thanks man
I ordered one of these for 90 bucks on ebay and it just came in today. I have some lace finger burners to throw in it and some cts pots. I wanna throw some heavier strings on it, any idea how to adjust the action other than the truss?
By the way, I literally just figured this out. The black and yellow Allen wrench multi tool is for the truss rod. It's pretty far down in there.
$90?! Where'd you find that at? And as far as I can tell, it's just the truss rod.
David McDaniel ebay man!
And yeah, just tried changing the pickups. Don't do it unless you want to do some routing. They have them on pieces of foam and they're flat on the bottom. No room to fit a standard pup in it.
Finally someone to make a proper video on a Chinese guitar...tumbs up man 👍
i mean you can get a boden classic for like 1400 dollars so saving is always an option but it depend on how metal you want to feel when playing it haha.
How to order one?
hey how is the neck? Im used to playing thin ibanez wizard necks, is it anything like that?
No, not really man. More standard than that, like a strat or PRS, Schecter.
@@thedavidshreds looks like I've got a lot of sanding to do
Hey I picked up an nk headless guitar check it out on my channel
Excellent vibrato.
Appreciate that, thanks
Great stuff is the tuning key really annoying? Thanks dude
The key is a little annoying for sure, but you can just use your fingers really.
Hi, how are you ? cool you video. is it possible to grant in drop C? Thank’s
Yeah, you can drop it to C. I've got it dropped to C now actually.
David McDaniel thank’s my friend ! Let’s rock
what is the neck like? thickness ? shape? could you do some measurements?
bebenavole I'm not going to do measurements man, I'm sorry, I'm just too busy and you can find all the measurements online. But, anecdotally it's kind of like a medium sized Schecter neck in my opinion.
Totally agree about Chinese guitars getting a bad rap. Country of manufacture is less and less relevant these days. Like you, I’ve owned heaps of guitars ranging from US, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian and Chinese. To be honest every guitar can be hit and miss. Just because something is expensive doesn’t mean it’s good. Huge mark ups in labour costs in western countries. Also end up paying huge markups on materials that don’t really cost that much to incorporate into the guitar at manufacturing.
Man this guy fucking SHREDS
I think he sucks
it's Korean. I have 2 on their way. A Purple burst and a Black burst [no painted necks].
David it's Korean? The seller is located in Hong Kong. That'd be cool if it was Korean, better labor practices, but I'm under the impression that it's Chinese.
Also, I hope you like them! I really like mine.
the wearhouse is in China [same service from Aliexpress] but they are from Korea. They are the same as "Ruckbee" guitars only with a different brand. A mate of mine has one with the "Ruckabee" logo [that's how I found out about them]
Yes they are pretty good after the obvious setup [as any guitar needs after transit]. The pups [Artec] are quite playable stock. I might throw in a P90 on the neck of one and a mni-humb on the other but that's just personal preference.
Thanks for dropping that knowledge here, I had no idea they were Korean! I'll have to drop a note in the video.
can u make custom order, like with no hardware or 7 string etc
Alex Brown I've honestly no clue. I'd contact the eBay seller and ask. Probably though!
Where did you get it so cheap? They are 375-400 now. (I’m from us)
eBay.
What's that explorer-looking guitar behind you?
Epiphone GT Explorer. $99 at guitar center, very cool little guitar.
Great video dude, though i own a strandberg so I'm not sure why I'm here hahaha
Seems that gear matters more than your instrument, and your skill and talent matters much more than both. You don't always have to bust the bank, it's good to keep that in mind
I just have fuck tons of money to piss up the wall sometimes, you know? Absolutely doesn't hurt to go all out if you can afford it.
Deku Scrub lucky guy
Do you wanna buy me a strandberg then
Just ordered the newest NK with the stainless frets, zero fret and trem. I had a "real" Indonesian Strandberg for about a week before sending it back. The quality control was crap for a $2200 guitar- chips and dings right out of the box. But it stayed in tune well and sold me on the benefits of a headless design. The Endurneck was unplayable for me because I'm a thumb-over-the-top guy. If this NK requires no fretwork, even if the trem is crap & has to be blocked, it's dinged/chipped, and pups are awful, it still could end up being more of a keeper than the real thing.
Hey man, received that guitar yet? I'm interested in the same guitar but I can't find any reviews of the trem model...
SS frets??? Where can i find one with ss frets?
It is a veneer, rooted to look like it's not
Hey, is it a song? If not, go finish it and post it!
I can't really find the exact same color. Anyone can help?
Ebay. Seller is guitars163. Or just look up nk headless guitars on eBay
There is a similar guitar company, Grote.
We should record together sometime, please?
do they make this on 7strings?
I wish. Doesn't look like it, though.
David McDaniel dang, thanks !
I believe they've started making seven string ones but they have a trem I saw them on EBay
these guitars seem great for what they do and what you get...........where else can anybody get a half decent headless guitar at even close to this price?....no-where.....
Where can I buy this guitar? (I am from Germany)

alex altmann thank you very much
Its a veneer and it has a ash body for those who are wondering
Too bad they don't sell this cheap any more! Try double the price now.
Yeah I saw that! I was thinking of grabbing another, I sold this one some time ago because that bridge was irritating. But yeah, they were like $500 at minimum, which is insanity.
check out the 7 string edition! ua-cam.com/video/MEy7S7lbWIs/v-deo.html
ALSO CAN WE WHAT ?
Sweeet
dude slow your talking down but great playing.i just bought one and gonna put some black winter pickups in it..
dude u talk so fast
Youre making are review after 6 hours. calm down, my man. Take a week at least.
I own one of these guitars and I can only disagree with this video.
Yes, the guitar is cheap with some decent features however...
The frets are awful. Truly awful.
Sharp fret ends which will cut up your hands. Uneven frets throughout.
The pickups are absolutely garbage and the route prevents any pickup swap unless you modify the body.
The bridge is kinda smart but really really poorly executed - the guitar simply *cannot* stay in tune at all. Seriously, you'll be playing and your guitar will drop completely out of tune very quickly.
The nut is plastic. Not bone.
The clamp at the 'head' which holds the ball ends of the strings is made of ultra thin wood... good luck with that one.
Really not worth £300/$300. I've played better budget guitars - sure they weren't headless but they also weren't horrendous like this.
Wow, that sucks that your model is like that. That's not been my experience with this guitar at all! If you read through the comments, you'll find a lot of people that have these and really like them as well. The fretwork is the biggest problem, I agree, but I think that the pickups are relatively decent, I've had absolutely no problems with tuning stability (especially after I took her in for a setup, now it has especially good tuning stability), and my nut is bone but they have different models with different features. I'm sorry you got a shitty one. For what its worth, I once spent a lot of money on a Caparison Horus and it was truly awful, terrible fretwork, hated the stock pickups, awkward scale length...but I know that it was probably just a lemon. It sounds like you got yourself a lemon my friend.
David McDaniel
It's good to hear that it's perhaps not the way with all of their guitars.
I was initially happy with it because of how little I paid, but the next day I realised how awful it truly was.
I've fixed up the frets now as it's a relatively easy fix for a luthier (doesn't excuse how poor they were to begin with), however the tuning stability is a major issue.
The pickups are the same arctec models as the ones in the video, and I'm sorry but they're completely horrendous. Tried to swap them out for a spare set of BKPs I have but the route is specific to that pickup model and so will need to be rerouted.
I think you'll only be happy with this guitar if you've never played a higher end instrument - or a well made cheap guitar (I have an £80 telecaster that's absolutely brilliant and I'd happily pay £300 for. The NK headless? Not so much.)
>racist lmao
OK, poser.
What
