  • Wedged between 2 heavily forested hillocks, stands the Thalupulamma Thalli Lova Temple offering a breathtaking view of the valley below which is just a sample of the natural beauty of East Godavari, often claimed as "The God’s Own District". Located not far from the famous Temple town of Annavaram, is the abode of Thalupulamma Thalli. It is a fascinating and irresistible destination for both lovers of nature and adventure as well as pilgrims. Truck owners as well as car owners, particularly those who live in the Godavari and North Coastal Districts share a special bond with this Temple as they believe strongly that Goddess Thalupulamma Thalli will protect them from accidents, dangers and will also help in earning profits. The truck owners pitch tents at the foot of the hillock Temple and offer animal sacrificies and paint their vehicle registration numbers on the walls with devotion. Most of the Talupulamma Thalli temple viewpeople, who buy new vehicle, make sure to visit this temple and get their vehicles blessed by the Goddess.
    History :-
Legend has it that the great Sage Agastya was so enchanted and drawn by the scenic splendor and tranquility of this place that he settled down here and meditated. It is believed that he used to eat fruits and drink water from these mountains. He respectively named these mountains as "Darakonda and Teegakonda". One can see, even now a perennial stream flowing down from the "Darakonda hill".
    Temple :-
The deity Thalupulamma Thalli is said to be a "Swayambhu" (self-incarnate). She is called Thalupulamma Thalli because "the mere thought" (thalapu) of her is enough for the Goddess to grant boons for her devotees. The Goddess is so kind hearted, so compassionate that she doesn’t wait for her devotees to come to her. Just one mere thought of her and she rushes to her devotees and grants them whatever they pray for, ask for. To access this Temple one must climb a long and steep flight of steps starting from the ornate entrance getaway that leads up to the sanctum Talupulamma Thalli entranceof Goddess Thalupulamma Thalli. While climbing these long and steep flights of steps, the devotees halt for a few minutes at an intermediary landing where they worship Lord Vighneswara and other deities present there. The devotees who come here prepare their food (Prasadam), offer it to the Goddess, have the prasadam and then leave the premises after worshipping the deity. Devotees who wish to cook non-vegetarian food during their vehicle puja ceremony can do so as there are a lot of vendors, shop keepers who sell chicken and goats. They arrange everything necessary for the cooking of the food and give them on rental basis. Once the puja and food is over, the left out things are not be carried back by the devotees but are left behind or given it away to the local people. Unlike other Temples which close at 8:00 P.M/9:00 P.M, the Thalupulamma Thalli Temple closes early at 6:00 P.M. None stay back. This is because the wild animals who inhabit that hillock roam about at night which makes it quite unsafe for the pilgrims. It is also believed that the Goddess Thalupulamma Thalli frequents this hillock at night. Though the pilgrims’ rush is moderate here, one can find quite a rush on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays as well as on festive occasions.
    Pooja & Festivals :-
The important festival celebrated in this temple falls in Chaitra Masam (March/April) every year, in Bahula Vidhiya, Tadhiya, for a period of about 15 days and also during "Aashadha Maasam" (June/July).
    Accommodation
The temple has a cottage with FEW rooms constructed by the Thalupulamma Thalli Temple Devasthanam to the pilgrims/devotees visiting Thalupulamma Thalli Temple. There are no Guest Houses to accommodate pilgrims as the pilgrim visit this temple in the morning and leave by evening.
    How To Reach:-
Sri Talupulamma Ammavari Devasthamam is located 70 Km from Kakinada, 106 Km from Rajahmundry, and 176 Km from Amalapuram (via Rajahmundry) and 8 km from Tuni. The temple is situated about 6 Km adjacent to NH-5 and about 8 Km from Tuni Railway station. And from there only bus transportation is available and that too special. The nearest railway stations are Tuni and Annavaram. One must make sure that the trains stop here as this is a two way broad gauge route and most of the trains are super fast. Though one can travel by road with a lot of options available, renting a vehicle will always the best option to reach this Temple.
