I remember reading that he never got over his brother's death. When an old friend of his told the story of his brother's drowning Hardy was trying to keep from bursting into tears on live television.
I was just a kid when I began watching Oliver and Hardy films on BBC TV. They were just awesome! And now watching this, I now know that Ollie (not me!) was a heavy smoker and he obviously ate a lot. Both put a huge strain on the heart. And the result is only one thing: death! Ollie, you were a wonderful human being!!!
Laurel and Hardy were a bit before my time but since discovering them on UA-cam I can't get enough of their antics. Of those I've seen so far, "County Hospital" is my favorite. Isn't UA-cam wonderful?

You made a mistake you just said that he went to military school in 1805 and he was born in 1892 unless you're talking about somebody else. But it does look like Oliver

How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron's beard, down upon the collar of his robes. -PS 133:1
Who ever narrated this mispronounced many titles and names, and said Harry Langdon married Virginia Lucille Jones instead of Oliver Hardy! And she said Laurel and Hardy entertained the troops during WW1, whereas it was WW2! Geez I could be more factually correct than her!
There's worse than that, "in 1805, when he was 13, he was sent to Young Harris College in north Georgia" I doubt even his grandfather was born before 1805. The script is word for word from Wikipedia, apart from the spoken mistakes.
As far as I Know, it wasn't a physical matter, but he had just decided against having children despite loving children in general. The reason... ? Who knows ?! Perhaps he was unsecure, wether he would be a good father, since he had lost his own father as a toddler, thus missing a role model. Or he just thought children would hinder his career. He probably had several reasons for his decision but he kept it private.
His 1st wife was no good and his 2nd wife was an insane alcoholic who constantly escaped from sanatoriums, so he naturally didn’t want to have children with them. When he was finally happy with his 3rd wife, by then he considered himself too old to be a father at 48. He also feared that due to the hectic nature of his career, a hypothetical child would end up neglected.

It’s on them to know how if they’re going to do these videos. I’ll give kids, teens, college students a pass, but they should know better if they’re going to make a series of these videos. At one point she got the wrong century.

I think that was when he was really young

It might be. Military schools exited for boys.
Please make sure your whole story is right. 1805 Hmph!!! Another fine mess. R.I.P Babe
I'm sure she meant 1905. 🤣
Pretty good bio

Right off with the first few words, this sounded familiar. One of my Dad's favorite scriptures.
Sad to hear that they met through 'freemasonry' 😢
I loved them two guys
the are a serious amount of mistakes in this monologue
well it was not World War 1 that they entertained troops it was World War 2
Laurel and hardy starred in Ben Turpin s final movie saps at sea
You mean 1905
How could he have gone to military school in 1805? That was before he was born.
Who ever narrated this mispronounced many titles and names, and said Harry Langdon married Virginia Lucille Jones instead of Oliver Hardy! And she said Laurel and Hardy entertained the troops during WW1, whereas it was WW2! Geez I could be more factually correct than her!
I remember reading that when WW1 broke out Hardy wanted to sign up. Unfortunately he was laughed out of the recruiting office because of his weight.

This was recorded in someone's bathroom from the sounds of it. Let's cut them some slack.... 🤣
Antietam:
*Pronounced an-TEE-dum.*
I thought that they were fighting against ham.
In 1805???
Love Ollie
7:35 "Supporting the Allied troops in WW1" No, not WW1.... WW2
In 1805 when he was 18. Did I hear correctly? England, May, 2024.
1805? You mean 1905? He wasn't born in 1805 and couldn't have been 13 years old then. Mistake at 1.12 min.
What I always wanted to know is why Ollie never had children.
As far as I Know, it wasn't a physical matter, but he had just decided against having children despite loving children in general.
The reason... ? Who knows ?!
Perhaps he was unsecure, wether he would be a good father, since he had lost his own father as a toddler, thus missing a role model.

Please fact check and redo this video.
All that is spoken by the robotic lady is word for word from Wikipedia
So how did it become 1805 ?
He must had died a extremely old man, if he was sent to college in 1805 at the age of 13,
i think that was 1905 lol
"Ante-hem"?
This video is incredibly good, but why didn't they explain why he had that ridiculous moustache
Does this narrator just read this script? She keeps using the wrong dates off by a hundred years.
How on earth could he be 13 in 1805. Unbelievable nonsense. Check before posting. As otherwise quite interesting.
😢🌹💋
He would never look rite on a show but what he played in comedy
Metro Goldwyn "My-er". 😆

These dumb biopics titled the life and sad endings are definitely not worth watching.
Amazing how popular in Europe and not so in the USA
Bot reading .... world war one was in 1941 ...
The narrator should shoot herself for this abysmal performance.
They supported the troops in WW I - in 1940?? HUH??? Check your dates.
Me dev
Mmm no POS wow 🐕
It's pronounced ANN-TEE-TUM
. . . Not "Ante-Hem"!!
