Good video, keep them going! I bought my pink jr about a month ago. It was my first ”good” guitar. Not that I have anything bad to say about my cheap harley benton but my god JEMjr is so good for its price! Quality is so nice for its price. And best part is that I paid about 250$ for mint condition second hand one.
I like this video because it reminds me of the early 00s. I have an Ibanez S4 and I agree that the humbucker pickups on the mid range models are single coil-ish, still one of my favourite guitars.
I own 2x Jrs. Both 2017 models bought used. One White (Jr). One Pink (JrSP). Both had great fretwork and fit/finish (e.g. paint). The Jr has Ibanez Quantum pups - yes, they are based on DImarzio Evolutions in my opinion. The JrSP has Ibanez Infinity pups - they have a warmer tone and I think you might prefer them. I agree that the Ibanez Standard DL Trem gets a lot of bad press. My JrSP has the stock trem and it works great. They only thing I did was fit a fat Brass Tone Block. This really improves natural sustain IMO. My Jr has a Gotoh GE1996T fitted. It's a fine replacement but not essential. I slimmed the neck on both guitars and made a few minor cosmetic mods. They are great players. I own other Jems and think the Jrs can be every bit as good for the vast majority of players (myself included).
Good review. So I changed the FL trem for nothing? I did someting else stupid. I changed the pickups to Dimarzio evo's. But the guitar didn't sound any better. But I already sold the quantums. You are on the right track!
