Happy Sunday morning, Chilowies! Hope you enjoyed our little rendition of this Everly Brothers tune. There’s nothing like a cold beer and some sad harmonies to cap off your Sunday (Thursday) evening. :)
Hi rachel and tony i so enjoy to see. You too in harmony with one another so please don't ever let it ind so keep love in your harts for thats more important than a barren. Fart. Love allwes your friend dana xo xo
John James McCartney awe I’m sorry for your loss. This is my wedding song. When we were dating we used to play the Willie Nelson version in the Jukebox of our favorite late night diner. Beautiful rendition
My mom was a big Everly Brothers fan. She would have been 78 years old next week. I remember as a kid in the 70s listening to her Everly Brothers records on our old record player. This makes me think of her. She passed away in 1986 at 44 from cancer. Carpe Diem....
I have loved The Everly Bothers since I was a teenager in the 60’s. I finally got to meet them in 1988, and I had a long conversation with Phil at that time. He autographed one of my albums, asking “Where did you get this?” He seemed astounded when I told him I had been their fan since I was a young girl, and I had purchased the album with babysitting money. I always thought Let It Be Me would be a beautiful wedding song, as would Devoted to You. Thanks for this!
It's not a sad song!!!!! It's by far one of the greatest love songs ever written and or performed by the Everly Brothers!!! It also happens to our Wedding song, high school Sweethearts and happily still married 37 years later!!
I was confused by them calling it a sad song as well. I have known this song for a shorter time than you have as I am 33 years old but I have always interpreted it as the singer saying they are so happy with their love and so asking their lover to always choose them, no matter what please always let me be the one you choose to spend your life with. I never considered anyone would see it as sad. Maybe they think the singer's love is leaving sad so they are begging them to stay.
Thank you, Reina! Thank you, Toni! June 28 of this year will be 40 years ago that my beautiful bride danced on our wedding night to this beautiful love ballad. In three months from now, Lord willing, we will dance to your beautiful rendition to celebrate 40 wonderful years together! You said it is a sad harmony; I disagree. It is a soulful, plaintive plea from two loving hearts to each other to, please, always, let it be me. I am going to play this for my wife now, so we can "practice" dance to it! *****Five minutes later******* No "practice" needed!!! It is just like yesterday!
I'm a singer, and there is nothing I love more than a good sad song. Singing has the power to draw upon the darkest things and turn them into beautiful things.
@@bramguy50 I think maybe because it's slow. I never thought this song was sad. I always thought the singer was asking their lover to always stay with them, to always let them be the person they choose to be with.
Great music is timeless. Chet Atkins sure knew what he was doing when he helped the Everly Brothers get started in music. Both of the brothers are gone now but their music will live on forever.
Stuck working away from home, been away far too long and getting really tired of being away. The George Harrison version of this song has been stuck in my head. Can’t sleep and scrolling through UA-cam, I see this. I still miss my home and I still miss my family, but music always helps me get through the hard times. Thank you and God bless you both.
Hi its 11 pm in Australia and I listening to your wonderful songs. I am 80 years and use to sing the songs, brings back great memories Keep singing and many thanks.
Toni's Tele tone (Triple T) is phenomenal. Takes us back to the '50s and Phil and Don. Add that to Reina's melancholy vocals, and we get a sad but sweet experience.
I grew up with the Everly Brothers. My brother and I self-taught on guitar so we could sing and play and BE them! (Yes, I am probably old enough to be your father or even your grandfather! ) GREAT JOB on this song, ladies!!
I have been an Everly Brothers fan since the 1950s. I was sad for a week after Phil Everly's death on January 3, 2014 and now you have made a 70 yo man tear up listening to that song once more. Excellent job!
I don't know what some people have in their hearts. Here two young, great people play a great song ... the two connect many people in harmony every Sunday. Where do 27 dislikes come from ... I don't understand. The two really stand for the good thing in life ... I don't understand that! But there will always be these few ...god bless toni, reina, mary, josh and all the others and may he protect them.
I use to play and sing in my younger years girls.Just found this vidio. You both took my breath away.Loved the brothers.Beautiful voices and guitars were real nice.Gods speed girls.beautiful.
How can you not love these two? Besides the playing and singing, I gotta mention how well they mic their performances. The audio is generally, excellent!
Amen to most of the comments concerning the joy your music brings to those who grew up way back. Today on my 77th Bday I have spent most of my day enjoying all your cover tunes. Especially like those with Reina Josh Carson Toni together, love the way you complement each other. What a blessing.
This was written by someone in France in the 1950's( I think) then Don & Phil recorded it in 1959 & it was released in 1960 and their amazing harmony blew the whole country away, I certainly had never heard anyone like them, they were amazing in live performances. They had sung in church since they were big enough to & had amazing chemistry.
I can't change it, the same every Sunday ... waiting for Reina ... like Christmas and Easter together. I love her voice, I love her voice, I love her voice. 5:00 p.m. in Germany and now it gives you strength for the week again. Great song, rich guitar sound. Good Sunday "morning" everywhere, no matter where you are. Reina connects; O)
This is not a sad song, it's a love song, sofy and tender but happy. He says he is in heaven, and she or he, is not leaving him or her. --You sing it beautiful, I love you girls.
Talk about a sad song, it brought a tear to my eye because it reminded me of my high school crush of 1961. Played it over and over on my 45 rpm record player.
I discovered the Everly Brothers as a teenager, when my friend's dad lent me a Best of. It's good to hear new voices sing those sweet melodies. Love this cover!
This one of my favorites. Your voices melt together as well as guitar playing . I'm always a sucker for a romantic slow dance kind of a song. I'm 65 and I love listen to you young ladies. Thank you for taking me back 18. God Bless.
I've listened to this numerous times. The music is awesome but somehow it makes me feel so good that Toni doesn't know and even more so doesn't care what day it is. I recently retired and I'm almost there. I laugh every time that she says that.
Simply super singing ! I am myself a Country Singer based in Cochin india , with 57 years singing fun and for fee ! You both are really superb! Good luck
In this world you play for some well informed critics who guide you along, but overall there is only one way your heading and that is towards perfection. Keep up your beautiful work. Love it.
This takes me way back to 1959 with 10 year old me riding the big yellow bus to school in Montreal and the older girls on the bus singing Everly Brother's hits in brilliant harmony!
Yes , it's actually a really sad song.I've continuously listened to this Reina's version for many many days because I've really found someone very special and out of this world and in my mind I'm begging her that if she clings to someone, let it be me.Nature definitely doesn't want this to happen and I'm very heart broken and maybe I'll not find someone like her again. Therefore I keep listening to this song in the hope that someday she clings..but it doesn't seem near at all..
I heard this song when I was a teenager. One of my favorites . I really enjoyed this new version. Truly amazing! I want to listen to it again!! The guitar work is excellent. I am 67 years old now. Thanks!
This was my parents wedding song in 1962.. they are both gone now- but this beautiful rendition of the Everly Brothers made me think of them and smile.Beautifully Done Ladies!

how amazing is it when young folks still get passionate and play the "oldies"
❤❤❤❤
Wow. Reina's followings include young and old alike!
As close to The Everly Brothers as anyone will ever get. Harmonies and that lead guitarist is the bomb!
It's heart warming to hear younger generation to sing such classic song. Keep this up.
You got singing this old 70 + man in front of his computer, thank you very much, for a moment you've made me young again.

i dont understand why its a sad song ? isnt it about finding love and keeping it? I thought it was a beautiful song but I dont find it sad?

From Ohio, married and this has been our song of love for 52 years. Picked it as our song in 1968 by the Everly Brothers. Thanks for playing it.

That is one lovely Tele and Toni is spot on with her interpretation of this classic.
Also, I like how the Tele matches Toni's hair.

Just so wonderful and complete. Toni's guitar never ceases to fascinate and inspire me.
This is the best version of this song I have ever heard.
It's good, but not as good at Phil and Don.
I love you two. My mother and I used to sing this song together. Thank you so much for sharing.
