Thank you capturing the true spirit of this and sharing your gift.
As close to The Everly Brothers as anyone will ever get. Harmonies and that lead guitarist is the bomb!
Hi from England, I'm a 74 yrs old fan, this was one of my late wife and mines favourite songs. It brought back so many wonderful memories, thank you.
John James McCartney awe I’m sorry for your loss. This is my wedding song. When we were dating we used to play the Willie Nelson version in the Jukebox of our favorite late night diner. Beautiful rendition
My mom was a big Everly Brothers fan. She would have been 78 years old next week. I remember as a kid in the 70s listening to her Everly Brothers records on our old record player. This makes me think of her. She passed away in 1986 at 44 from cancer. Carpe Diem....
how amazing is it when young folks still get passionate and play the "oldies"
❤❤❤❤
Wow. Reina's followings include young and old alike!
I have loved The Everly Bothers since I was a teenager in the 60’s. I finally got to meet them in 1988, and I had a long conversation with Phil at that time. He autographed one of my albums, asking “Where did you get this?” He seemed astounded when I told him I had been their fan since I was a young girl, and I had purchased the album with babysitting money.
I always thought Let It Be Me would be a beautiful wedding song, as would Devoted to You.
Thanks for this!
It's heart warming to hear younger generation to sing such classic song. Keep this up.
I'm a singer, and there is nothing I love more than a good sad song. Singing has the power to draw upon the darkest things and turn them into beautiful things.
i dont understand why its a sad song ? isnt it about finding love and keeping it? I thought it was a beautiful song but I dont find it sad?
@@bramguy50 I think maybe because it's slow. I never thought this song was sad. I always thought the singer was asking their lover to always stay with them, to always let them be the person they choose to be with.
Reina and Toni are two angels, sent to earth to give us a glimps of heaven.
It's not a sad song!!!!! It's by far one of the greatest love songs ever written and or performed by the Everly Brothers!!! It also happens to our Wedding song, high school Sweethearts and happily still married 37 years later!!
I was confused by them calling it a sad song as well. I have known this song for a shorter time than you have as I am 33 years old but I have always interpreted it as the singer saying they are so happy with their love and so asking their lover to always choose them, no matter what please always let me be the one you choose to spend your life with. I never considered anyone would see it as sad. Maybe they think the singer's love is leaving sad so they are begging them to stay.
Great music is timeless. Chet Atkins sure knew what he was doing when he helped the Everly Brothers get started in music. Both of the brothers are gone now but their music will live on forever.
Who cares what day it is, as long as it’s Sunday morning in your heart.
Yah, I think so. So never leave me lonely. Tell me you love me only. ^^
Excellente prestation
Hi its 11 pm in Australia and I listening to your wonderful songs. I am 80 years and use to sing the songs, brings back great memories Keep singing and many thanks.
❤
Just so wonderful and complete. Toni's guitar never ceases to fascinate and inspire me.
You two are so good and you bring back memories of my youth. I'm 72 and trying to learn the guitar.
Wish me luck.
Good luck Sir
That's awesome!
Toni's Tele tone (Triple T) is phenomenal. Takes us back to the '50s and Phil and Don. Add that to Reina's melancholy vocals, and we get a sad but sweet experience.
That is one lovely Tele and Toni is spot on with her interpretation of this classic.
Also, I like how the Tele matches Toni's hair.
@@JasperKloek Very true!
Mega reverb!
@@wyattdean5658 Its actually Tremelo
Yaaaaay...Toni's actually singing and not on backing vocals!
What an amazing rendition of an Everly Brothes classic!
More of the sad, drippy stuff I say!!
I would love to see Toni throw back a borderline excessive amount of beer, be very relaxed, and let her rip!
This is the best version of this song I have ever heard.
What a beautiful version of this wonderful Everly Brothers tune!
I have been an Everly Brothers fan since the 1950s. I was sad for a week after Phil Everly's death on January 3, 2014 and now you have made a 70 yo man tear up listening to that song once more. Excellent job!
wysetech I am 70 as well and I got lost in the tune! So many good memories of those days back then! Thanks ladies, you are awesome!
Me 3! I'm 70 years young & LOVE this song & these 2 young beautiful talented artists! Perfection Is No Accident! ❤️ ❤️
Now Don has gone to join him 😢
@@kathrynrobertson2353 That's sad. I didn't know that. Thanks for telling me.
Me too, age 76.
It's not simply a cover, it's an experience! Listening to your silky voices is just out of this world, keep it up!
I totally agree!
@@Markogleby i love thé 2 girls
It isn’t a sad song, its a wedding song. Slow maybe, but not sad, one of the best love songs ever.
I grew up with the Everly Brothers. My brother and I self-taught on guitar so we could sing and play and BE them! (Yes, I am probably old enough to be your father or even your grandfather! ) GREAT JOB on this song, ladies!!
They just don't write them like that anymore. Lovely rendition, thank you for keeping these classic love songs alive 💞
How can you not love these two? Besides the playing and singing, I gotta mention how well they mic their performances. The audio is generally, excellent!
I love the first few seconds of the video, when Toni talks and Reina sits down, gives a thumbs up and smiles. That is when my heart melts...
That’s a girl that can make an electric guitar cry.
She's not a girl. She's a grown up.
@@TheVeek192 Your point is?
I don't know what some people have in their hearts. Here two young, great people play a great song ... the two connect many people in harmony every Sunday. Where do 27 dislikes come from ... I don't understand. The two really stand for the good thing in life ... I don't understand that! But there will always be these few ...god bless toni, reina, mary, josh and all the others and may he protect them.
Two beautiful and very talented ladies. Wonderful ❤😊😊👍👍
Absolutely superb. First came Don and Phil, and now an equally good "Donna and Phyllis" version.
I discovered the Everly Brothers as a teenager, when my friend's dad lent me a Best of. It's good to hear new voices sing those sweet melodies. Love this cover!
It is nice to see and hear young talent playing the songs of my youth. My present age is 72 and the song was first released the year my wife was born.
AM radio at 2 in the morning, listening to WLS, memories from long ago.
Talk about a sad song, it brought a tear to my eye because it reminded me of my high school crush of 1961. Played it over and over on my 45 rpm record player.
From Ohio, married and this has been our song of love for 52 years. Picked it as our song in 1968 by the Everly Brothers. Thanks for playing it.
Nice to hear Toni singing too, I love harmony and yours is lovely together. nice gentle tone on the guitar too.
It takes a great deal of talent to play that guitar part and sing as Toni does here.
This one of my favorites. Your voices melt together as well as guitar playing . I'm always a sucker for a romantic slow dance kind of a song. I'm 65 and I love listen to you young ladies. Thank you for taking me back 18. God Bless.
the tears on my face the goose bumps the numb feelings , i have to say thank you,
There is no more talented and restrained guitar accompanist on the planet. Every performance is a lesson. Thank you, Toni.
for sure she is so talented
Reina and Toni marvelous musicians and beautiful ladies .🕊🌻😍💐🌞♥️👑♥️💐😍🌻🕊
This is not a sad song, it's a love song, sofy and tender but happy. He says he is in heaven, and she or he, is not leaving him or her. --You sing it beautiful, I love you girls.
I've listened to this numerous times. The music is awesome but somehow it makes me feel so good that Toni doesn't know and even more so doesn't care what day it is. I recently retired and I'm almost there. I laugh every time that she says that.
Amen to most of the comments concerning the joy your music brings to those who grew up way back. Today on my 77th Bday I have spent most of my day enjoying all your cover tunes. Especially like those with Reina Josh Carson Toni together, love the way you complement each other. What a blessing.
Absolutely beautiful...
I really love this girl playing the lead...i dont know whyis it that everytime i look at her i feel something special and un explainable....omg
Don and Phil are smiling down on you girls from way up high and they're as proud as punch of you both!
Yes , it's actually a really sad song.I've continuously listened to this Reina's version for many many days because I've really found someone very special and out of this world and in my mind I'm begging her that if she clings to someone, let it be me.Nature definitely doesn't want this to happen and I'm very heart broken and maybe I'll not find someone like her again. Therefore I keep listening to this song in the hope that someday she clings..but it doesn't seem near at all..
Toni's got a Tele! Haven't seen that before. Toni's the best!
oh my goodness,.....what a fine job,... the guitar work,... the vocals,.....my, my, my,.....there is hope for the world yet.
This was my mom and dads wedding song. I grew up listening to it. Beautiful!!
The Evs finished their later concerts with this song, it is definitely my fave song by Phil and Don, and now a biggie from Reina del Cid. Great copy.
All that I can say is that I'll never get tired of your songs, God bless you girls.
Have just come across this beautiful song - sung perfectly by two talented girls . I can't stop playing it every time I switch on , and the pure Telecaster sound ! Perfect.
I use to play and sing in my younger years girls.Just found this vidio. You both took my breath away.Loved the brothers.Beautiful voices and guitars were real nice.Gods speed girls.beautiful.
Big thumbs up for
Toni Lindgren on the guitar. That tickled the ear
LOVE the tremolo/vibrato on Toni's guitar!
I'm 72yrs old, I remember my mom singing the Tennessee Waltz when I was just a child good memories, miss my parents.
One of the best memory of Everly Brothers. Love so much this song.
Beautifully done. Toni the precision of your guitar playing is amazing.
Toni that into on the guitar absolutely beautiful. I commend on your expert playing skills. Lovely rendition ladies.
Thank you, Reina! Thank you, Toni!
June 28 of this year will be 40 years ago that my beautiful bride danced on our wedding night to this beautiful love ballad.
In three months from now, Lord willing, we will dance to your beautiful rendition to celebrate 40 wonderful years together!
You said it is a sad harmony; I disagree.
It is a soulful, plaintive plea from two loving hearts to each other to, please, always, let it be me.
I am going to play this for my wife now, so we can "practice" dance to it!
*****Five minutes later*******
No "practice" needed!!! It is just like yesterday!
They treat this song with a kind of reverence. You can tell they love and respect it.
Lovely. I grew up with these tunes. I love you guys.
Well you got me crying like my heart is breaking.
This takes me way back to 1959 with 10 year old me riding the big yellow bus to school in Montreal and the older girls on the bus singing Everly Brother's hits in brilliant harmony!
297 Thumbs up and Zero thumbs down at this point. More Everly Brothers would be appreciated.
More Everly Brothers....I agree!!!
The three thumbs down are just people being silly 🤓
@@secondsun7727 Thumbs up to that.. I mean what's there not to like?! The green eyed Monster is around I think.. 😉
@@secondsun7727 people are tone deaf , and can't appreciate good music.
Look at my singing of this song: ua-cam.com/video/_rRXwFFBrTo/v-deo.html
Excellent rendition of a classic. Thank you Reina and Toni.
That telecaster sounds so sweet with the Tommy James Crimson and Clover vibrato. I used to have a 1966 Danelectro DM-25 amp that sounded a lot like that.
I heard this song when I was a teenager. One of my favorites . I really enjoyed this new version. Truly amazing! I want to listen to it again!! The guitar work is excellent. I am 67 years old now. Thanks!
Once again on a Sunday I chose to enjoy your calming version of this still wonderful song. Thank you both
Not exactly sad, but rather plaintive and hopeful. A wonderful mood setter for a Sunday morning. Thank you
Hi from Indonesia. First time I heard this song from a cassete of my father. It was the Skeeter Davis version. Later I know this is a song of Everly Brothers. A nice song ... simple but deep
You got singing this old 70 + man in front of his computer, thank you very much, for a moment you've made me young again.
Big kiss to both of ya.
Hi Reina & Toni🖐 you two collaborate so well together with your harmonizing voices is such a beautiful treat for us all!!!! Thanks for sharing your amazingly wonderful talents on this awesome song 💐👌💞🥂🍻
Most underrated music channel in the history of youtube so dam beautiful!
Always Amazing I'm going to the Glasgow concert can't wait 👍👍👍
Wow, wow, wow, as a an old Everleys fan I can only congratulate you both for a beautiful rendition of this, one of my favourite Everley songs. X
It reminded me of the slow jam that Marty McFly was playing on stage at his High School reunion in Back to the Future. Good times.
It's called Earth Angel :D
Your kids are gonna love it
Slow jams and love songs never, ever go out of style. Thank you for this and ALL that you do. Best Wishes
Finally! I found the perfect name for Toni and Reina: the Everly Sisters!
Toni & Reina did Every brothers proud!👏👍🤗🤩
You are a perfect duet. I'm blown away....and as I've said before, you each have an old soul. That's coming from a 61 year old former hippie (and present hippie at heart).
The Everly brothers were classic, thankyou
Reina, your voice is divine... thank you.🌹❤️🙏
Guys like many I suspect I have had a “challenging “ week so your super rendition of the lovely Everly Brothers hit from yesteryear lowered my stress level. Keep up the good work and regards from Norfolk, England
Beautiful harmony!!! Voices!!! And guitars!
RIP Don - Thanks for the music
The exactness in the guitar work gave me chills when you started out the song .
I can't change it, the same every Sunday ... waiting for Reina ... like Christmas and Easter together. I love her voice, I love her voice, I love her voice. 5:00 p.m. in Germany and now it gives you strength for the week again. Great song, rich guitar sound. Good Sunday "morning" everywhere, no matter where you are. Reina connects; O)
They make this song sound as if it was written for them! Great version...like it a lot!
Wow I'm astounded!
I never thought that anyone could cover an Everly Brothers song and sound even nearly as good as them. But you two "Everly Sisters" proved me wrong!
Brilliant!!!
I am running out wonderful thing to say each time you top it with another wonderful song!!!
Love it! Thanks for such a good cover.
Cheers from Thailand.
Very beautiful voices, and a quiet moment and interesting lirics
Thank you for the sweet music that naturally surrounds you all like a sunny shiny day. Just a great time, reminds me of easy going Neil young style. And again, I can’t quit rewinding the track.....
Life is pretty good when you don't know what day of the week it is.
Another great duet, you both really nailed this one, well done. Loved the reverb Toni, you hit it spot on. Thanks again, Jeff
A splendid rendition girls ! Thank you for the music !
IVE NEVER SEEN OR HEARD THESE TWO LADYS BEFORE, WHAT A LOVELY VERSION OF THIS OF THIS CLASSIC BEAUTIFUL SONG, LOVELY VOICES, LOVELY PLAYING & LOVELY EFFECTS, DON & PHIL WOULD BE PROUD OF YOU.
Reminds me so much of my grandmother playing and singing songs during church, I lost her on May 2nd 2019
The best I've heard since the Everly Brothers did it, you two are amazing together. Please, don't ever give it up.
The Everly's never sounded so SWEET -- GREAT job ladies
Best love song ever. Thank you. Beautiful cover.
What a beautiful version of this wonderful Everly Brothers tune! I so enjoyed this rendition.
