- My transcription/arrangement of "Farmer's Trust" for solo piano incl. the original Lyle Mays solo of the "Travels" version. The tune seems to be simple at first sight, but it needs a sensitive touch and the ability to emphasize the inner melodies / counterpoints. Hope you enjoy it as I did when playing it 😉 WANTED: I'm looking for the following versions of "Farmer's Trust" from the PMG Tour 2005 (I'm particularly interested in Lyle's solo performances before the actual piece:
1) State College, Pennsylvania 2) Lancaster, Pennsylvania 3) Amherst, New York 4) Detroit, Michigan 5) Milwaukee, Wisconsin 6) Vancouver, Canada 7) Portland, Oregon 8) Seattle, Washington 9) Oakland, California 10) Chandler, Arizona 11) Atlanta, Georgia 12) Purchase, New York 13) Washington, District of Columbia 14) Beacon Theatre, NYC 15) Osaka, Japan 16) Chiyoda, Japan 17) Frederiksberg, Denmark 18) Stuttgart, Germany 19) Zurich, Switzerland 20) Frankfurt am Main, Germany 21) Paris, France 22) Utrecht, Netherlands 23) Villafranca di Verona, Italy 24) Ascoli Piceno, Italy 25) Rome, Italy 26) Porto, Portugal
According to Marc Morvan's Pat Metheny Data Base there are bootlegs of these shows circulating. I have 9 more of that tour (Hamburg, Cologne, Vienne, Milano, Undine, Santa Cruz, Toronto, Nuremberg, Universal City). If you happen to have a recording of 2005 not mentioned here I'm also interested. I intend to transcribe Lyle's best solos of these intros. They were simply magical!

Hey Francesco, just write to: uver@gmx.net for more info about my transcriptions 😉
Back to 1983 when a friend gave me "Travel" telling me to listen to it... and my life changed for ever :-)
A distinguished version from an exquisite interpreter. Thanks Uwe for brightening my day. As always ...
Always a pleasure to discover a new Uwe Karcher, it's like a gift every time. Thanks Uwe. The magic here is that we can listen your transcriptions a 1000 time and we never get bored.
kind as always, Eric - and appreciated by me as always 😊 Thank you & best wishes, Uwe 🎹
Beautiful ending to a beautiful film captured in this music perfectly- ‘Good bye friend - Have a nice life.. ‘ Fandango 1985
You are the best 'Pat Metheny / Lyle Mays' sound I met. Best regards.
Wonderful performance of a beautiful piece. There's so much nuance in this song as it was crafted. You do Pat and Lyle proud. RIP Lyle. Always in our hearts
Man. You are definetily not afraid to challenge yourself! In addition to the "travels"-version (you do Lyles solopart exellent btw), the 95' live version represents in my opinion some of the best Pat/Lyle co-work. Pat with his distinctive musical narrative on the top of Lyles pads, (like in "always and forever, "september 15th", to keep it in the slower categories of their music). I guess very few people are able to transcribe and play a piece like this, not loosing its delicate and tender spirit on the way. Some covers I've heard easily ends up too fast and mechanical. As you say, this is about sensitivity, touch, tempo and the delicate melodic lines. Once again, you show your exellent skills in this matter. As always combined with your small twists and confident way of playing. Great work.
so kind (as always) - thank you, my friend. Seems I owe you not only one beer 🍻😁 Btw, where do you live?
@@ukaykeys 😄 😄Haha, Thanks!
Southern part of Norway. Let me know if you ever should be around.
@@freiherr260 Great - I've been there in 2019. Will take some time until I'll be back 😩 Take care 😉

Thank you Uwe.
Dear Marcus, thank you very much!
Heaven on earth! Brought to earth by the heavenly imagination and rigor of your deeply attuned ears. Thank you for another one of your precious gems. In Uwe we trust!
too kind, Michael - but appreciated anyway 😊
Only who feels this song that way can give such a delighted rendition. And thanks for renew this melody that, as for any PMG one, accompany the TRAVEL of my life.
It's just beautifull !
One of my faves. Beautiful job, Uwe!
Perfect music for a rainy morning, thank you! Always!
Uwe - this is other-worldly. So beautifully interpreted.
Perfect! Thank you, as always (and forever). What a gift the playlist!

Freut mich sehr, danke dir! 👍🏻
Lieber Uwe, das ist toll und wieder großartig gespielt. Danke dafür ! LG - Detlef
Lieber Detlef, vielen Dank fürs Reinschauen / Reinhören und den netten Kommentar 😊🙏🏻
It's 2.20 a.m here in N.Z, as we endure another 'lockdown.' Your music allows the mind to escape for a while. Thank you Uwe (I wish I could play a 10th.) Maybe they could manufacture a piano with smaller keys...?
Hi Linda, nice to hear from you. I've read about the lockdown (due to just one case, is that correct?). The zero covid strategy seems to be cruel - can it ever be achieved? Hope you can stick to the music anyway. Concerning the keys, 10ths are not everything. Often it is ok to play the top note (10th) a 16th or 8th later or just omit it. Or the other hand takes it. But maybe you are interested in this: ua-cam.com/video/SBfDN9DBsnk/v-deo.html 😉 Best wishes, Uwe
Thanks Uwe. : )
Amazing and inspiring, as usual
Beautiful
Très sensiblement arrangé et interprété. Merci Monsieur.
You are a Genius! Congrats! 👏👏👏👏
Beautiful rendition! I love it😍

beautiful arrangement, thank you!
Verdensklasse!
Helt enig!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ you are a genius! Contrats!!! From Argentina.
Beautiful arrangement and performance, I like it so much. Well done, compliment.
Thanks Uwe! ❤️
It was such a pleasure to hear you play Farmer's Trust, perhaps my favorite Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays composition. I've been their fan since 1992 and was able to see them in concert numerous times.
For several years, I would listen to F T before going to sleep. Such a beautiful piece.
Thank you Use so very much.
I don't speak German. Is you name pronounced "U vi". Just a guess.
Sorry for the long comment. I have a DC2A which is the Yamaha Disklavier. However, I am just an amateur.
Thank you, John! My name is pronounced with an double "oo" (as in "groove") for the "u", then with a "v" (as in "vanity") for the "w", and finally with an "e" (as the first "e" in "enclosure"). So we have "Oove" 😅
Fantastic Uwe! I love playing the transcriptions of yours that I have :)
Uhhhh so beautiful
AHHHH y una cámara nueva enfocando las manos y las teclas!!!!! muy bien felicitaciones
magnifique......
Wonderful = as usual 🙂
Increible Uwe. Felicitaciones!!!
Uwe, I’m looking forward to seeing Pat Metheny tomorrow night in Cincinnati. I hope to hear this song, and if I do, I will toast you and all Metheny fans!

@@jpmo3349 congrats, JP - good to hear Pat is still here for us and doing well!
❤❤❤You are doing a great professional job. I bet you're working with an analog player when analyzing the original recordings. I dream about hearing Metheny/Jopek's "Another Life" performed by you or "Polish Roads"
Are there lyrics to Pharma Trust
Thank you for playing this wonderful piece of music
Another great video. Beautiful!
Would love to hear you play Ozark off the As falls Wichita Falls album.
Thank you! I thought about Ozark, which probably will happen one day - but it will be tough 😅
@@ukaykeys I’m sure. But that would be epic.

thanks, Tony - good to hear from you again, hope you are well!
@@ukaykeys Hi Uwe
It really upsets me that someone with your talent has to do so much work to earn a few hundred votes on UA-cam. By contrast, a video of a child playing with a dog can get millions of votes. In my world, you would be able to earn a good living from your posts alone.
@@tonher1 thank you, Tony. That's the way it is - even Keith Jarrett has much less views than a child playing with a dog... 🙄
