Testing the cloud waters... I often time think cloud might be overengineered, altough I mostly dismiss the thoughts with telling myself I will understand more as I learn deeper
I appreciate the point you made about not wanting to lean into extremes. Ultimately those are just opinionated oversimplifications as well. It is a good idea to look at requirements and decide based on what will be a good fit.
Great Video which has some valid points! Its worth noting that a lot of companies utilize the cloud incorrectly and inefficiently.
They will essentially lift snd shift into cloud using expensive compute options like VMs rather than using platform and serverless options like AKS, App services, Function Apps, container apps, Azure SQL etc. Most companies dont want to transform, refactor and rearchitect.
I think that's a key methodology to consider when looking at the cloud. Otherwise, on prem infra is still very much relevant.
Transformation into Cloud requires a complete methodology shift, not just from a software design but also how you develop using devops practices etc.
An interesting watch!
Thanks!
Thanks a lot. You've helped me focus. Feel better soon!
Different use cases, different abstractions.
Keeping on with the fundamentals 🎯
A lot of infra people (like myself) moved to cloud because it meant less time having to go hands on physical kit in the middle of the night when something breaks. Also gives you better bargaining for working from home
This... I just did a four day data centre migration in London. Starting 7am and finishing close to midnight. I hate it so much. It doesn't happen often but when it does, all I can think of is the fact my cloud colleagues are chilling from home.
Cool shades.👍🏾🙂
I completed my Under Gradutation Degree[BSc.IT] and I am interest in Cloud Field more but there are lot of roles and i dont knoww where to begin my cloud journey and land a job ASAP can you guide me or advice me where can i start also can you recommend me first free ways of resources then paid or like a roadmap when to get paid course and then free will be fine, thank you so much for reading my message and replying , I love your video and I really would like you be my mentor , Thank you so so much
Certification is not a problem. The problem is that you need certification on top of ops certification. As a result, cloud ops need to be more skilled and higher paid.
Hi Gwyneth,
I'm a newbie to cloud and I am hoping to become a could engineer, just like you.
Could you PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE do an Introduction to Azure Cloud !!! Like a whole course, I absolutely love your style of teaching !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
