I have 2021 GLA 250 same engine and same suv. No issue. Amazingly it gives me 42 mpg on highway. I use it for daily driving. Might be a bad apple repaired in this video. But it should be under warranty anyway. I have GLE350 2018 still today no issue I drive that GLE Mercedes for family vocation. Then I have Lexus es350 no issues. Every car I had in past all reliable including Mercedes e320 my old one I sold around 200K miles on it. If you change oil on time any car can go 200K without any issue. Make sure do service on time. I do all maintenance myself and have diagnostic computer so saved 1000s and 1000s of dollars over the years. Just with simple maintenance your can have a enjoyable ride of any car. One thing is amazing about Mercedes is when you drive you feel like you are sitting in a tank, very solid feeling on road. I also had Honda accord and CRV all reliable did maintenance myself. And I have seen new Hondas going to dealers for major repair. So bad apples are in every manufacturers. Just one bad able should not be blamed that all are bad. peace
Yeah, chronic cylinder head issues are bad apples. Yeah, chronic SRS system faults are bad apples. Yeah, OM651 chain issues are bad apples. Yeah, M271 with the same chain issues are bad apples. Want me to continue? One thing also chronic with mercedes, blind fanboys drunk on the marketing koolaid.

Hello, I had the same problem on my CLA 250 2020. But mercedes didn't replace the cylinder head, they repaired the valve that had the problem. Is this the right solution or will I have this problem again in the future? Thank you
Is this issue as common on the M264 as it is on the M260? Mercedes didn't extend warranty on the M264 and wondering if I should ditch by '21 GLC before warranty expires in 3k miles.
Hi I had bought Mercedes a250 w177 I’m having the same sound when I start the car in the morning and ones it heats up the sound goes I took the car to the dealership 2 times first time they changed the tensioner n belt but the sound was still the same n the second time they said it’s normal I dnt no if it’s normal or problem with the engine ??
What can cause these valves to leak or not being able to seat correctly. I ask because I have M278 engine with 70k miles I keep hearing people say this exact issue can happen.
M260 engine has well known valve guide problem, which fails and makes the engine lose compression. Mercedes recommends changing all valves and cylinder head, but people only do it under warranty, otherwise they just change the valve.
@@marcaosebba0Can you say when the valve guide problem was fixed at the Mercedes factory? I heard that the manufacturer had already made two changes to the cylinder head by the end of 2021, so it must be fixed by the time the new car is delivered in 2022. Can you confirm that?
Bought a brand new US 2023 GLA45 AMG last month. M139 motor. My first Mercedes. After only two weeks and 450 miles, I have a check engine light, and it has been in the dealer possession for 8 days. The car is running normal, and only the auto start stop function is not available, I guess because of the check engine light preventing it. They said that nothing is wrong with the vehicle mechanically, but it has some faulty electrical error that is false, they can not find the reason and are working with Mercedes Germany to resolve it. I think they just can't fix it and are stalling to make more money out of Mercedes corporate, or can't decide to buy back the vehicle. So far I am disappointed with the service repair and Mercedes quality control.
I will never buy a Mercedes again. Nothing but problems. Reverse not possible it said. Had it checked and inspected said it was fine. Happens all the time. Check engine light on can’t get out of first gear. Awful cars.

Biggest mistakes I've ever done regarding vehicles. Utter pieces of . Issues and problems left and right. Cheesy plastics EVERYWHERE. Dealer network is a joke akin to Apple. Is there an engine sound characteristic of this problem? Because after repairs, I have the impression that the engine still makes the same noise.
Was the oil change a part of warranty replacement? Starting from what MY cylinder heads were changed?
Yes
@@MercedesBenzTipsTricks thanks. Was that problem fixed in MY23 models?

Does the cylinder head issue still exist in 2023 models?
What tool did you use to remove the guide pins

M274 or M264 engine more reliable? And does M274 happen to encounter fuel leaks even if milleage is low?
Iwould of beenc curious to see the intake side of them valves to see how much carbon build up was in them.

Mercedes utilized inferior valve seating materials and cheap build quality resulted in such a catastrophic failure in most its m2xx series engines....
