Ummm... you do know that accepting a stolen item is illegal, right?
I'm laughing so hard at these comments about the chandelier. lol The guy seems kinda stalker-ish. I mean, he apparently knew where you lived, wanted YOU to have that item, and said he stole it for YOU. Umm...something about that seems very off. If I were you I'd be very careful accepting anything from a guy like that. People with stable emotional and psychological health don't steal things and present them randomly as gifts to strangers. You've never even had a conversation with this guy. How did he know you needed a chandelier? Most likely because he does maintenance in your building and has a key to your place. He's probably watching your every move and, as you mentioned, you've "seen him around the building", etc... You should immediately report the situation to your building management as well as contact the police. The man clearly has mental health issues and no boundaries so it's likely you're in danger and don't realize it. How does one simply steal a chandelier like that when the vast majority of stores have theft prevention technology? If he works in that building he probably stole it from another apartment and gave it to you. Something isn't adding up and you definitely DON'T need to be complicit in it. What if said person reported it missing and then they find that thing in your place? Do you think they'll believe your story? Do the right thing and report this very odd and unusual incident!

Your place is amazing. The windows are the main reason I love it. That view! The light! Plus your decorating style is magnificent. The crazy guy who gave you the chandelier had surprisingly refined taste, haha, and it fits with your decor.
I would have said "if you want to give me a present, return this chandelier whoever it belongs to!!!!" But that's just me!

RubyOpheliaQuinn Lol let me clear this up for you, I had seen him around my building. He works as an electrician. Im a smart person if I felt violated at all I wouldnt have opened the door. He was a familiar face.
