- One of the most recognisable men on the planet, Karl Lagerfeld was arguably the most famous German of our time. His ponytail and sunglasses have conquered the world. Yet, little is known about the person, about the man behind the façade that was Karl Lagerfeld. What was he like? What inspired him? And what was hiding behind those iconic glasses? His self-stylization, in which secrecy played an important part, put him alongside icons such as Andy Warhol and Jean Cocteau. His carefully crafted image was a marketing tool but also a representation of himself: “There is a glass wall between myself and the rest of the world.” This intimate portrait of Karl Lagerfeld breaks through this glass wall and shows the person behind the iconic façade.
Fantastic. Karl is the one for me. Never a disappointment.
That s one of the best documentary about him, with all the archival footages and Karl being so open-heart. One for the History of fashion !
Immortal 😎
I love the relationship he had with his mother. I can see her big influence on his life. If I have a son one day I would like to have that kind of relationship with him.
Really interesting, I love how he has successfully created a life that worked for him not falling into a lot of traps the rest of us do.
He is everything and nothing at the same time
A great documentary. Ive never heard of that exhibition he created. So much imagination and creativity. Lots of culture and self ideology. Talented. He was a trend. No doubt.
I’m surprised he never would dye his hair. I admire a man who can grow old gracefully.
The Germans are great
Yes, there are great and wonderful aspects to German culture. He was a Nazi. Full of himself and an exaggerated sense of self importance and superiority to others. He embraced being Nazi.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW ! BIG WOW ! 😍
I was never a fan of his "style" however, I loved his fragrance.😊
The legend 💙✨💙
Bad translation when karl is talking about Jacques , watching his film , he said that we "was not made for working , UNLIKE me (c'est pas comme moi ; it s not like me ) " bisous
I thought Karl was speaking German.
Did he say the children were alcoholics???? Wow
👌👌👌👌👌❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏👏
I still can't understand his personality 🤔
He was raised and embraced being a Nazi
