Clint, You are coming up with some pretty awesome ideas during all the test and comparison of these three bikes. So Awesome!! Ohh and have a blast and rememberer, Live-Life-Loud!!

The 3.0 fits surprisingly well! Interesting combination to try out.
I ride a 2018 Trance Advanced with 2.6" Maxxis Rekon. It is an amazing do all tire. Light, fast, loads of grip. It will pack with mud, so I start and end each season on 2.4" High Roller II, just for the mud shedding.
I had 27.5x2.6 RoRo's on 23 mm rims with no issue at all! I'm now on a RoRo rear and NoNi front on 35 mm rims. Also work perfectly. They are a bit wider on those rims. I run them at pressures that result in slight deflection on the back. For me, at 160 pounds, that's 18psi rear and 15psi front in Utah with great results.
I'd like the name of the video to be based on what your content is. This is excellent content that you provide. You're easy to listen to and you take very clear camera shots. Great job! And thanks for sharing this. Thumbs up!
If the tire deforms against the ground on a super hard turn, it will "snap back" right after it leaves the ground contact so no worries about it rubbing the chain/seat stays.
Hey Clint, hope you are well. I always loved to run the Ritchey Z-Max 26x2.35 tires, back in the day for the same reason you are liking the 2.6's... Sweet sounding trip, have fun and be safe!
Easily. Clint was the first youtuber I subscribed to when I started mountain biking. I learned so much from his channel. Then I found Seth, Brian, Alex, and Phil. I love their videos, so it would be so awesome to see them all ride together
Thanks for the great videos. I have the same bike and can't wait to try out the 2.6 tires. Have to wait one more month till the clavicle that I broke heals. Killing me not being able to ride.
Hi Clint, could you do a video with 27.5plus wheels and tires on your 29er. I have a 29er, but feel that the frame may be a tad too large for me. I'm thinking of going with a 27.5 or plus to maybe puck up some more confidence on the bike and make it feel a bit smaller. any idea if it's a direct swap over? Thanks, love your vudeos!
Clint, in my opinion you have the most informative mtb videos on UA-cam. Quick question: I am upgrading my Giant Talon to a 1x10 dérailleur. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for all you do!
27mm is good for 3" tyre according to dtswiss and since so many ppl are riding 2,2" with 17-18mm rims then I'd feel safe to go to what's still considered compatible. But I actually chosen recently to be in the middle of compatibility chart and went with 25mm for 2,4" tyre, but it actually is 2,4" as most geaxes are. Only brand I know atm that doesn't undersize 100% Kenda 1,95" was ~1,67" in reality, I thrown out measurements of conti and schwalbe but can say the conti 2,4" and schwalbe 2,25" were both smaller than geax 2,2" and by so much that it was clearly visible by eye.... Also geax I remeber had correct measurement of 56mm with 19mm rim, so it doesn't even need a wide rim to achieve stated size.
Dante Primm - MiddleAgedGAMR how is the 2.4/2.5 set up doing? What is your rim width, My 17' Trance boost rims are 23mm and hoping my 2.4/2.5 dhrII/dhf tires will fit decent..
Super-informative as always! I have a 2016 Trance LTD 1.5 and Mavic wheels with 23 mm internal rim width. I wonder if they are wide enough for a 2.6" Nobby Nic. I happily ran 2.35" Magic Mary on the stock wheels with 19 mm rims though. Clint, what do you think?
+Cristian Vidmar I don't have a lot of experience with different Rim sizes and tire widths period but from what I saw in a lot of comments I think that combination will work okay.
A very good evening Sir Clint from Jilin China. I love watching your videos as alway. What fork is that you're using in your trance? I have the stance and I wanted to change the fork. Thanks a lot and more power.
I'm planning on switching from regular 27.5x2.3 DHF & 27.5 x 2.4 DHR II's on 23mm rims to 27.5x2.6 DHF & DHR on 30mm rims, and I'm really excited and curious on how will they perform.
Clint--I have a 2018 Spectral 6.0 and it came with 2.6 Maxxis DHF and Rekon rear, I have a tube in the rear now due to some fun on a few rocks so wondering if you feel 2.6 or 2.4 is better? 2019 Spectral comes with 2.4--looking at Conti TRAIL KING, I am an intermediate rider, not at your level but am going to Ridgeline soon as I live in NC
Clint could You please measure with a calipers how wide the tyre is. I don't think Your rim qualifies at all as being too narrow. It can't be 19mm and to be compatible it'd have to be 22mm inside, according to dtswiss and mavic charts. I'm asking because I'd like to know how undersized are those in bigger sizes cause shwalbe, kenda and conti are undersized by even 7mm up to 2,4" (measured)
Hi Clint! I have a 2017 Giant Trance 2. I was wondering if a 35mm wheel would work with a maxxis dhf 2.5 on the front and maxxis dhr 2.4 on the rear? And, would a 35mm wheel work with 2.6 tires? Thanks!
hey Clint does Schwalbe's make different Nobby Nic's tires in 2.6 ? trying to see what to order for the Trance2 ( I'm seeing at least 2 different ones online ,ADDIX Rock Razor & Rocket Ron. which one do you have ? )
+Jim Allocco think a 2.8 might rub the chain stays, but then again maybe it won't. I suppose after my trip I could try putting the plus bike wheel in the back.
The 17 has Boost spacing, I have a 2016 as well. I am not sure if the chain-stay clearance is any different between 16 & 17. Clint should as he use to own a 2016.
You need to develop a script or at least some talking points. That is what makes Seth's videos so fluid and nice to listen to. This video sort of just wanders.
Seth is also a full-time UA-camr. He can afford to spend a lot of time at one video. I have a full-time job, a family and training for racing. That being said, I have tried a bit more into my videos over the years. I’m also trying to shorten them so that I get more to the point. I never really set out to make a UA-cam channel, I just happened organically so it is still developing. But I appreciate the feedback.
@@ClintGibbs Understood. It would be well worth 5 minutes to write some talking points though. Most people have short attention spans and you'll lose an audience if you don't communicate with direction. I'll shut up now. Good luck with your channel. I subscribed.

2.8 and 3 are plus or mid fat, anything greater than 3.8 is considered fat. Now, when they come out with 3.25 or 3.5, I don't know what they will call them!
Hey clint, can you do a review on amazon rockshox forks? I saw a rockshox RL gold 27.5", and it was only $350 CAD. And on their website the same fork is in between 345-450 USD. Why is that?
Hey Clint, are you familiar at all with Marin Bikes. They claim their new Wolf Ridge bike is one bike to rule them all. I was considering purchasing since Marin Bikes are all I've ever bought, but it is pricey. www.marinbikes.com/us/wolfridge/pro Do you think it's false advertising?
Nice! Thanks for the advice. Good to know im able to put a 2.6 tire on my 27 internal width rim. Do you think 2.6 up front and 2.35 rear is a bad combo?
Totally the best setup - been riding the 2.6 on the Trance for 4 months Perfect!

Clint! I just got back from Pisgah and Dupont over Memorial weekend. Hit Ridgeline and Lower Black Mtn!
Thumbs up for using the Imperial Standard system of measurement.

Wouldn't we all want to collab with any of those guys :) Maybe someday my lil channel will warrant it!
Thanks Clint. I was thinking about going to 2.6 now I’ll try it out 👍🏼
2.6s are awesome!
I'm curious if you had a chance to try the 2.6 Maxxis range (DHF-Rekon). Would make for a great comparison.
Great videos btw 🤙
Have an awesome trip. Hope to see some clips
This is great info Clint! I know my Stumpy Carbon can take 2.6 but I thought it would make it too sluggish
Exactly same bike I have and same size tires. I love it.

+3majsie maciek 👍
Bigger tires might help too with pedal strikes in rocky terrain, my only let down with that bike, it has a very low bottom bracket.
Yes! so awesome man thank you for what you do!
Considering trying a 2.6 on the front and a 2.4 on the rear of my 2016 Trance Advanced (non Boost).
Dante Primm - MiddleAgedGAMR how is the 2.4/2.5 set up doing? What is your rim width, My 17' Trance boost rims are 23mm and hoping my 2.4/2.5 dhrII/dhf tires will fit decent..

I just bought a 2016 Trance that has been upgraded to a rock shocks Pike. I'm thinking about going all the way to 2.8?
I have a 2016 trance advanced 1, how can I find what the widest tire that fits the prtx-1c rims is?
I'm planning on switching from regular 27.5x2.3 DHF & 27.5 x 2.4 DHR II's on 23mm rims to 27.5x2.6 DHF & DHR on 30mm rims, and I'm really excited and curious on how will they perform.
How was experienced on new tire set up?
Hi Clint. Just seconding a post below asking for actual measured tire width. Cheers.
Trails like Ridgeline all you need is a 2.4. once you're still level gets up to riding the chunky trails in Pisgah, I would go 2.6.
TY
Clint could You please measure with a calipers how wide the tyre is. I don't think Your rim qualifies at all as being too narrow. It can't be 19mm and to be compatible it'd have to be 22mm inside, according to dtswiss and mavic charts.

it would be cool to see some POV videos of you riding some times
Hi Clint! I have a 2017 Giant Trance 2. I was wondering if a 35mm wheel would work with a maxxis dhf 2.5 on the front and maxxis dhr 2.4 on the rear? And, would a 35mm wheel work with 2.6 tires? Thanks!
Clint are you hooking up with the Redemption crew? Seth, Brian, and Alex?
+Shredn' Tread trying
Niiice. Enjoy your trip!
What do you recommend for cheaper glasses that aren’t dark? I like the ones you have on it in a lighter Lense
Tifosi are the best quality for the money, with lots of choices
I'm wondering if you tried these tires on your new carbon Trance advanced
Very interesting
Consider raising your stem all the way up before you go to NC. Looks like mid plus 2.6 is probably the ticket! 😃
Wonder how the 2.6 will fit on flow ex 25.5 inner width?
What was the rim internal diameter? Would be cool if u timed 2.6 vs 2.35/2.25 to see if it's slower or not.
Interesting. Wonder if anyone's done the same on an anthem. Would need wider rims tho, even with a 2.6.
clint you channel are verry helpful... Q? can my trance4 2016 model can do same too ? switching my current tires 2.25 to 2.6
if I recall correctly it was 2017 when they made the frames capable of handling 2.6 tires. But I would have your local shop called giant to verify.
hey Clint does Schwalbe's make different Nobby Nic's tires in 2.6 ? trying to see what to order for the Trance2 ( I'm seeing at least 2 different ones online ,ADDIX Rock Razor & Rocket Ron. which one do you have ? )
I would not recommend the rocket ron on the trance. I would go with the Nobby Nic’s
ok so NN's Rock Razor would be the exact tire you use ?@@ClintGibbs
also here in Oregon rainy conditions 80% of the year what tires would you recommend other than Nobby Nic's ? thanks Clint I appreciate it @@ClintGibbs
2.6 scared me from a 2.3, but actually, that's not much wider! Am I wrong?
It's not a huge difference but you'll definitely notice a difference. More stability but a bit slower acceleration.
& looks sick !
Clint - do you think you could fit a 2.8 tire on the back or are you limited to 2.6?
+Jim Allocco think a 2.8 might rub the chain stays, but then again maybe it won't. I suppose after my trip I could try putting the plus bike wheel in the back.
I just picked up a '16 Trance Advanced 1, do you know if they changed the width of the rear triangle from '16 to '17?
The 17 has Boost spacing, I have a 2016 as well. I am not sure if the chain-stay clearance is any different between 16 & 17. Clint should as he use to own a 2016.
just checked the specs on Giant's site, they did add boost spacing on the 2017 model, the 2016 is standard 100/142
Yep the spacing at the rear is 6mm wider, but not sure if the front of the triangle is wider or not.
Dante Primm - MiddleAgedGAMR yes it has more clearance. It was added when they went to boost rear spacing.
how wide is your rim? 23mm or 29mm?
27mm inner width
just been offered a brand new Trance Advance 1 for 3500GBP, thats about $4000
Do you know of anybody running a 2.6 on a Stance. ( 27.5 × 2.6)? I ask since the Trance and Stance are similar.
I have Trance 2015. would I be able to ride 2.6 tires?
do you think you could put a 2.8 on the giant front rim?
I would not. I think that’s getting too large. You will need a wider rim for a tire that big.
same size on rear? psi in the teens!? doesn't that slow u down?
+m00nchildblues not on Trails. It actually makes you faster because the tire conforms over bumps.
How wide are those rims?
Awesome, I'm a 2.4 guy

What about rolling resistance?
Above 2.6 i start to lose feedback from the tire. 2.5 is the widest i like to run
How about lowering the pressure?

Damm that's nice
I guess you didnt get the rain today!
have fun
What is your internal rim width?
not complaining but observing, the 3 inch is kinda borderline fat bike tire
vapnmtnbikr typically anything larger than 3" is considered a fat tire 3 and under is not just what I've been told
2.8 is + size
2.8 and 3 are plus or mid fat, anything greater than 3.8 is considered fat. Now, when they come out with 3.25 or 3.5, I don't know what they will call them!
If you need anything while you are up this way just hollar.
dude what's that frame armor called?

its called raising the profit? lol check the production year/series grab the cheapest one
0:47 I actually see the side knob touched either chainstay or brake hose and bend soooo.... it rubs something
+3majsie maciek it didn't. I guess it was the angle of the camera.
yeah... that totally rubbed the chainstays...
Nice at around 20 psi

I think that's a really good combo. Great traction up front, more agility in the back.
